New Enemies, Old Heroes

While the Lawmen patrol the streets of Wappelville, something lurks in the shadows...

Strange creatures have been spotted by very nervous citizens, peeking out from behind curtains.  The Lawmen have dismissed most of these outlandish tales as fiction, but they are about to learn the hard way that the threat is real!

Right down Main street... a small horde of greyish creatures with hostile intent!

Legendary Wyatt sprung into action to counter this move, with some help from Carl Frederickson.

The great K-9 bots bared iron teeth, unafraid of these new enemies.  They set upon the spindly alien creatures...

But more continued to arrive!  An endless stream of greys, taking down one Lawman after another with gouts of green fire!

It looks like it will be up to the Hero of Wappelville to hold the line against the Aliens.

Virgil Earp also lent his firepower to the effort.  With the combined support of General Grant, Lucinda Loveless and the Union, this initial threat was dealt with.

General Grant knows, however, that this was simply the beginning...

The Dog Pound

Send in the robots!!

These shots feature the more mechanical side of the Lawmen.  We have some UR Lawbots, along with a host of hounds!!

This is a combination of regular Mercenary K-9's along with the new, very powerful versions.

I think this group would be very deadly in a fight.  There are a ton of action points here, with everything essentially have three each.

When you couple that with the speed of the K-9's, this small number of figures acts as if it were almost half again as numerous.

The range of the firepower is also enhanced by the mobility of the large dogs, and Legendary Wyatt's powerful gun.

Even the smallest of K-9's is lethal in combat.  They are also blurred targets, so a great number of shots will go astray.

The K-9's have been the most consistent performers in close combat.  While the fighting skill level is not high, there are many attacks and strikes to compensate.

This is also a very heavily armed posse!  I believe that with forward eschelon, the large K-9's have armor 6!

Things are gonna get hot in Wappelville... it's going to the dogs!

We anticipate that legendary figures like Wyatt will only come around for special story based scenarios... most likely facing each other.

Let the Showdown begin!!!

Even a Legend needs a pal

Even when you are a legend, a man still needs his best friend.

Legendary Wyatt has two buddies, the new, very potent K-9 Mercenary dogs.

Not only do they offer massive additional firepower, but they are his "eyes and ears", seeking out targets, providing line of sight.

This will be devastating, since Wyatt will not have to use his many action points to move into position.  No longer will he have to march down the middle of the street!

I think the streets of Wappelville just got a lot safer!!!

In addition, these two K-9's can "reach out and touch someone"... they can charge a potentially nasty enemy shooter, keeping them tied up so that the rest of the Lawmen can advance.

There's a total of ten action points here, and that's going to come in VERY handy.

I cannot wait to try out this fearsome trio!!

They will lay waste to the Enemies of Justice.

Stay tuned for a possible battle report after GenCon!!!

Legend's Week begins!!!!!!!!!

OK, it's Tuesday, but it's never too late to bring in the LAW!

This Legendary Lawman is Wyatt Earp, and he is supremely nasty.

Oh yeah, and the miniature is mighty fine as well.  I'm really looking forward to seeing this Legend of the Wild West on the table, joined by his two doggies!

However, this is just the beginning of a week of legends.  I can already hear the baying of a wolf in the background...  what could that be?

A Great Spirit rises

Today we introduce you to Chief Raven Spirit, a new Boss for the Warrior Nation, and the special GenCon 2015 miniature!

For those who are already familiar with the Free People, Warrior Priests have the ability to summon apparitions, which then unleash death upon their unsuspecting enemies.

This new boss is master of summoning, and not only of this massive apparition.  He can also bring more of the smaller spirits as well.

Here are some renders of the special release for GenCon.

I will be painting this at the booth, just as I painted the Holy Order Pillar of Light in 2014.

This will be so much fun to paint, with lighting effects everywhere!  It makes me very happy that I will be camped out in the Wild West Exodus booth with my brushes and paints!

This might be the most fearsome looking of all the Wild West Exodus creatures to date.

But that's not all!

For the first time anywhere, I will be showing my whole collection of Wild West Exodus figures.  My own Warrior Nation posse grows by the day!

Old Stompy will be there of course.  He was the Gold Crystal Brush large creature.

Geronimo and Walks Looking will be there, along with various Legends of the Weird West, such as Legendary Sitting Bull.

Not to be outdone, the Lawmen of Wappelville will come into town, making sure that things don't get out of hand in Indy.  Legendary Wyatt will lead them.:-)

The other factions will be represented as well, as I bring what Union, Outlaw and Holy Order figures that have been painted, or are under way.

It should be a lot of fun... lots of work, but a great chance to talk painting, and talk gaming.  Yes, it's hard to believe that this time last year, I was reading the WWX rule book for the first time.

Little did I know that it would lead to amazing battles like this:

Charge me up!

Is your Iron Horse running a bit slow... running down on its RJ-1027 fuel source?

Well, just head on over to your nearest charging station, and it will have you back up to speed in a jiffy!

This is a fun little kit that Lathan made after seeing the charging stations I made using the leftover punch outs and pieces from other Burn in Designs kits.

It was scaled to work with all the light supports... Blackjacks, Dust Cutters, Interceptors, you name it!

The view from above shows the station with the boardwalk sections.  I can't wait to work on the new ones!

Deputy Beringer of the Lawmen seems to be taking charge of the situation as well.

It was fun to get some toasty RJ glow in this version of the charging station.

The store and wagons are also Burn in Designs kits.

Still much more to come for Wappelville!!! Stay tuned.
