The Barbarian

Ever since I painted my very first Norsgard figure, I knew that I had a new miniature line that I would enjoy very much.  The resin is very resilient, with a nice smooth finish and not brittle or hard.  While that makes them easier to assemble, it also makes for a very nice painting surface!

Other areas like the fur cloak and the weapons tend to be in nice shape too.  When those are more detailed, it means that I can paint some more interesting varieties of tones into things that would ordinarily look gray.  While it might look like gray right off the bat, there are plenty of greens, purples and blues as well.

It is important to include those tones, since they are all reflected in the colors that I used on the skin.  This helps to ties everything together.

You can check out more of those fantastic figures here:

If you are wondering about the size of the figure, he is on a 40mm base.

The Dog Pound

As some of you have noticed, I have really enjoyed the new miniature companies that have emerged in recent years.  I feel that they are doing very innovative sculpts, which have a very different look than the "older" companies that have been at this for a long time.

Here's a link to their website:

Norsgard have been making some outstanding sculpts, covering human characters and also one of my favorite critters... Wulfen!  This one is larger than most of the line, as he is mounted on a 50mm base.

The base was made during a Facebook live broadcast here:

A majority of the painting was done with oils, and you can check that out in this Facebook live episode:

Wolf Pack!

Wulfen figures of all types are clearly favorites of mine, and these Norsgard versions are a great addition to my collection.  I had a lot of fun with these.

Each of them has a unique character, and the poses are certainly dynamic.

All of the bases were made with tree bark, and a smattering of Secret Weapon resin skulls were added.

There are also some different fur colors here.  I could not resist making the "Duelist" white!

The larger wulfen to the right of the image had more greenish tones worked into the fur, while the magic user had plenty of purple glazes.

Wild Magic

I think this character has to be my favorite of the Norsgard figures that I have painted.  So far, I have had a chance to paint four of these fantastic resin figures!

Check out their website here:

I continues the same style of basing (tree bark) an each of them, which means I have some nice group shots coming up for you!

The previous wulfen characters were a combination of blueish/green greys, while this lady had more of a purple tint.  I even did a few glazes of deep purple in the recess areas.

Bigger, Badder Wolf

We have another fantastic Wulfen figure from the Norsgard Miniatures line!  I had a lot of fun with this guy.  Here's a link to their facebook page:

They have created a number of wonderful figures, which I have found to be cast in very silky, resilient resin that is very easy to prep!  There are even weapon and head swapping options, which is great!
Also, the poses are very dynamic.

This guy is the largest Wulfen I have done from Norsgard (he's on a 40mm round base).

The faces are very expressive and finely sculpted, which allowed me to feel as if I was painting a portrait.  That was fun!!!

I hope to have many more Norsgard miniatures here to show you!  One more very special Wulfen is under way, so stay tuned :-)

Not Afraid

This is one of my favorite Wulfkin from Norsgard Miniatures, a sculpt with amazing detail and dynamism!

The proportions of this figure are just perfect.

These Wulkin also came with a few different head and arm options as well.

This figure is only one of those created from the first kickstarter campaign... another is under way, with just 27 hours left!!

I am very eager to see the figures from this second campaign in front of my brushes!  The figures from Norsgard II are even more spectacular.  Oh yes... I should mention that there is a game as well!

Fury of the North

Now it's time for some of my favorite Wulfen figures, from Norsgard Miniatures:

This is from their first campaign, one of several wulfens.  The assembled versions have already been featured earlier.

As you can see, the poses are quite dramatic and dynamic!

There are lots of fun detail, particularly on the faces, which is all important!

They now have a second campaign, which is under way right now!!

From the wilds of Norsgard

Does anyone love Wulfen?  I sure do!!

These wonderful miniatures are the creations of Norsgard Games and toys.  Here's a link for you to their Facebook page:

These miniatures were cast in resin.  I have put some bark on the bases which are supplied with the figures.

Each one has a very distinct look and personality.

The resin was very easy to clean up, and quite resilient.  I am really looking forward to painting these!

There are also a number of fun sculpts in the works.  Each of them looks amazing!

As I paint these up, I will be sure to show you all the finished results!  Stay tuned, and go check out Norsgard!!!
