we are adults

jonny and i have made the leap into grown-up land by buying our first house. we'll close in a month, that is if we can figure out what the words "lender" and "appraisal" and "PIPI" mean. i think i grew an ulcer last weekend from all of the stress, and i feel bad for poor little maggie in my uterus who i'm sure has been getting jostled around by my churning stomach and panic attacks. the house is in grayson, georgia, across the street from my parents. don't ask how i got jonny to agree to this. we went there for four days to find a place, and we didn't decide till late the night before we had to leave. the other real estate agent was very shrewd and played lots of mind games with us. (for example, she didn't call us all day friday because "my phone wasn't charged, and then i was in the shower." ) jonny kept insisting we would have gotten a better price if we'd hired an older asian women to represent us...by the way, you may be noticing that the yard is covered with shrubery and i've decided that once i retire as a schoolteacher, i will be taking up a full-time job doing yardwork. why do i sound like i'm 50?
