Aves' first outing

Ok, so I'm one of those moms. The ones that take their 5-day-old baby out into the world. I think it's good for them to get fresh air and good for me to get out of the house before I need to be institutionalized. So far she's still alive. Maggie on the other hand is as sickly as ever. This has gone on long enough. Anyways, I tricked Jonny into going to the ward playgroup at the park. He was not pleased to be spending the afternoon with all the stay-at-home moms in the ward, but rather than be mad at me, he was more angry at himself for not seeing through my trickery. He blamed the cold medicine he'd taken earlier.

Avery Jane

Friday night at around 2:30am I woke up with labor pains. Which was ironic because at my doctor's appt on Friday I'd asked my OB how I'd know when to go to the hospital, and she said that she'd never heard of anyone sleeping through it, and I'd just know. She was right. We got to the hospital about an hour later, and I got an epideral about an hour after that. With Mags, I didn't truely appreciate the epideral because I got it when I was dialated to a 1 1/2. This time I was almost a 5, and I prayed for about 20 minutes after getting it thanking Heavenly Father for the wonderful saint who had invented it. For those of you that have had kids naturally, I have no idea how you did it. I told Jonny to shoot me in the head if we ever have another kid and they can't give me one. Anyway, when they told me it was time to push, it was SOOOOO much harder than last time. Probably because Aves was a pound bigger and because she was OP (her face was looking towards my pelvis instead of my butt). But after 45 minutes she was born at 12:24pm on May 8th, weighing 7lb 8oz and 19.75 inches long. Of course I started crying because she looked so beautiful and perfect. We did have a little scare when she was put in the NICU because she was breathing too fast, but she was released the next day and the doctors said she's fine. So far she's been the perfect baby. She sleeps all the time and just kind of squeaks when she's hungry. Mags on the other hand is having a very rough time. She got really sick while I was in the hospital and she still looks and acts like she's on her death bed, but the doctor says it's just a cold and a case of the jealousy beans. I think he's an idiot...Like Mags, I'm also very cranky and in a lot of pain. I feel like I've been hit by a train. And I'm pretty sure my body will never recover from this. Luckily I'm married to a sweetheart, who lets me stay in bed all day snuggled with Avery, so I think I'll survive. Anyways, here are some pics.

So far everytime Maggie is close enough to Avery to reach her, she grabs her leg and tries to carry her like a toy, or she smacks Aves in the face.

Meeting the pugs.

Mags is currently watching about 10 hours worth of Disney movies a day as this is the only thing that will console her.
