Sketches: Creatively Yours... layout 14

This is my last layout for the month of August based on Sketches: Creatively Yours... if you remember last week's layout then you will see that this one is a match.... though I scrapped the two pages as two separate singles I will be filing them next to each other in my album... and because they are photos taken on the same day with the same people, I decided to coordinate the colours... and so now I have a matching pair!

Other exciting news.... Alison asked the design team to stay on for an extra month.... so there are four more layouts from me coming in the month of September!

A few layouts

In between challenges and design team layouts I managed to do a few other layouts too..

This one has taken a while because I first made all the paper piecing bits and then about two weeks later only worked on the actually layout.

I used a Helen Croft sketch for this layout... she has really fun colourful sketches on her blog

And this layout I had planned at the beginning of the year but never got to do it... it's based on a Nuts About Sketches sketch... week 86

This weekend I need to get cracking on my new design team layouts... so will be happily scrapping the time away.

Scrap-U PreAssignmentz

Though classes only start on the 1st of September at Scrap-U... there are a few Pre-Assignmentz going on... so here's what I've done for the challenges:

Pre-Assignment #1 {Back To School Fashion}
Take a picture of a piece of clothing and scrap a LO using the colors as inspiration!  ALSO........include some stitching on your LO!!!

So I took a photo of my fav socks

And then I scrapped this page

Pre-Assignment #2 {Schedules}
Print out a blank calendar for September then "pretty up" that calendar! SO I used my Outlook email calendar and turned it into a pinboard

Pre - Assignment #3 {Lunch Box}
There were 9 lunch bags to pic from for inspiration!

Then.......................
Make a Sandwich/ (At least 3 pp's)
Grab some Chips / (Use Chipboard)
Get some Juice / (Use paint or mist)
Bring a snack / (Use your choice of embellishments)

Scrap-a-tale Challenge - August

This month's challenge at Scrap-A-Tale is to create five cards.... we'll for me who doesn't often create cards unless it's in a pinch, this one was a great challenge.  Here's what I managed to put together:

1. A boy's birthday card (this is a scraplift of one of Tracy's cards)

2. A pretty birthday card

3. A Thank you card

4. A small square birthday card (based on this week's card sketch at Sketches:CreativelyYours)

5. A teenager's birthday card

and this one got it's inside decorated too....

Now at least I have some cards in my stash waiting to be used... think I might just start making a few more of these in the future!

Today is my lucky day

I just found out I won... TWICE!! hehe.

Around lunch time I was browsing Facebook and saw the announcement for the Rapid Studio photo competition.  So went to check it out and found out I won third place.... thanks to you all for clicking on my photo... it sure helped!

And just now I was going through Google Reader and saw that I had won this mag on Kim Starre's blog... can't wait to read it when it arrives from the States.

Just some family news too..... Aaron has been running a temperature since Thursday last week with a horrid snotty nose.... anyway, yesterday I took him off to the doc and after giving him meds now he is definitely on the mend.  Doc did book him off from school for this week.... also because it's so cold and we don't want him to get any worse.... so we're having a peaceful week at home.
