App Scrappers - April Bingo

The facebook group App Scrappers - Over and Beyond Project Life has been holding a bingo all month... no prizes and no real goal besides what you personally set... well I looked at the card and thought I'd try to do most of it. Here's what we are working with:

I've been scrapping all month with various challenges and making them fit this card as and where I can... and finally I finished. Here is my card:

All these layouts have been created in April and I've shared them in other posts all month long. It's been a very creative month indeed!

I had posted some of my entries for the designer challenges at the Lilypad earlier this month, thinking I wouldn't be doing any more.... then I surprised myself and got some more done. Here's the rest:

Sure has been a very creative month.

TDP - April2020 challenges

This month at The Digital Press there haven't been that many challenges, but I did manage to do them all.

I did the template challenge for GoneDigital Designs which I shared earlier this month.

Rachel Etrog also had a template challenge but it took me a while to get my layout done. Finally managed to put something together.
(Edited 1 May 2020.... my layout got picked as a Galley Standout... whoop whoop!!!!)

I won the luckydraw from Nini last month and so managed to score myself a free kit and got her Cosmos kit which was perfect for her challenge:
ninigoesdigi - flowers

There was also a scavenger hunt which resulted in a new kit to download, and they had their 70% off retirement sale, so I got a few more kits that I've had in my wishlist for a while. I am looking forward to next month when hopefully there will be a few more challenges on offer.

Slow Scrap with Dandelion Dust Designs

I am really enjoying these facebook scrap dates with Dandelion Dust Designs... I've done some of the speed scraps and last night was a slow scrap. The only real difference between these is the amount of time you have to finish the layout and share it. In the speed scraps it's about an hour after the last instruction is given, but in the slow scrap it's 24 hours. The instructions are nicely spaced out that I actually managed to complete the layout within a few minutes of the last instruction.... and that was with dithering and changing things a few times. Love how my page came out:

I can't wait to do another one of these. The nice thing is that I get a free kit just for participating. My stash is building up.

Gingerscraps - Scrap Survivor - Week 5

Another week at home... it's been an interesting week with announcements on tv from Mr Ramaphosa about all sorts of Covid-19 things. The big one is whether or not the lockdown will be lifted and if so by how much come the end of the month. The decision to have different levels definitely sounds good, the question though is where do we fit in? At this stage we will just have to wait for further clarification.

One of the good things abut being at home is that I get to do some of the little things I enjoy, like reading, scrapping and baking. Sooooo this week's survivor challenge was really an easy one for me.

I had baked on Tuesday and taken photos as I went and then on Wednesday the challenge was released so I  knew exactly what to scrap.

Part of this challenge was also to make the recipe page.

Now that Scrap Survivor is over I will have to find a few more challenges to do. I still have a few that I want to do this month so best get scrapping (hehehe).

Gingerscraps - TCOT winter pages

One of the designers at Gingerscraps, The Cherry on Top has a progressive challenge going on her facebook group. The winter kit is a freebie and once you've created three pages you get the spring kit. Well I couldn't miss out on this chance to get more stash so finally yesterday I knuckled down (whilst watching tv) and scrapped my three pages.

It's not so easy scrapping "winter" pages with such bright papers but I persevered and made them work. I uploaded them all today to the group as well as to the gallery at Gingerscraps.

I just found out that my "Freshly Baked" page got nominated for "Bakers Best" for this week. Always an honour to get recognised for my scrapping.

The Lilypad - April2020 Designer challenges

It's sooooooo nice to be working at home... no traffic, no stress... just sit at my desk and get the job done. And then I get to scrap for a lot more hours too as I'm not running around shopping and stuff. I could very easily do this for a few more weeks.

Soooooo speaking of scrapping, I've done two more layouts this weekend (well actually last night whilst watching tv!) for two of the designer challenges at The Lilypad. I might do other challenges there still but thought I'd share these today.

First up is one for Elif Sahin.... love her stuff. The recipe challenge makes it so easy to put a layout together... this one used stash from about 8 kits!

Next up is also a recipe challenge but from Lynn Grieveson... another favourite of mine though I don't have a lot of stash.

Till next time...happy scrapping.

Gingerscraps - Scrap Survivor - Week 4

This week's challenge for scrap survivor was lots of fun... and not so much of a challenge for me as it's actually how I scrap... mix and match.

The challenge is to fuse 2 templates and at least 3 kits together. Well I used bits from 8 different kits on my page.

So now I just have to wait till Wednesday to find out what the final challenge it... hoping it's something fun and easy too.

Gingerscraps - Scrap Survivor - Week 3

Another week of challenges for Scrap Survivor that are stretching me to learn a new skill... hopefully I did it correctly.

This week we had to do extraction on two photos... not something I did a lot of when paper scrapping so it really is a learning curve for me to now try this digitally too. Here's my layout:

I had to resort to using Photoscape on my pc to get these pics edited as they were tooooo finicky to do on my table. I put the whole page together in PixelLab in the end. Just kept it faily simple to keep the emphasis on the photo story.

There was also an immunity challenge this week... all about scrapping our favourite drink... no guesses as to what mine is... hehee.

So that's week 3 survived... now to await the next lot of challenges.

Gingerscraps - April2020 Challenges

I've been most productive week scrapping-wize... what with lockdown and all... yes I've still been working but haven't had all the extra running around, so I've managed to get some scrapping done. I have steadily worked through this month's challenges at Gingerscraps and done my 10. Here's what I have scrapped:

Recipe

Mix It Up

Mini Kit

Template 1

Connie Prince
Signature
Bingo

Rewards

Brush

Monthly Designer

I tried a few different challenges this month and they were fun (some more work than others!). Glad I got them finished early as now I have the rest of this month to do some other scrapping for some of the other sites I follow.

GoneDigitalDesigns - April template challenge

We're about halfway through the 21 days of lockdown for South Africa. Besides working each morning, I've been doing lots of scrapping. Haven't been motivated to do much else really. Oh I have read one book at least!

Shannel has designed a great new template for this month's challenge at The Digital Press... a clean and simple one with hexagons... lots of my favourite bits on it. I've used her part of the April Collab kit too for my layout as the colours and patterns are sooooo pretty. And the cutest little bunny tail to go with the wording in the kit... hehe.

Come join in the challenge over in the forum and you could be lucky enough to win a free kit.

Scrapping with Liz - April 2020 Make It Snappy

Today is the Make It Snappy challenge with Scrapping with Liz in the Lilypad forum. I signed up to do this even though the actual challenge ran at 1am this morning my time... thankfully we have 24 hours to do the challenge... so I've managed to get my layout done.

This was a nice one ...an either or sort of challenge.... 5 steps each with two choices so it was lovely to mix and match the steps.

Another memory from Wyndford scrapped.

Gingerscraps - Scrap Survivor - Week 2

The challenges for this week have been different and stretched me a bit.

This challenge I've been battling a bit with. The challenge is all about blending the photo into the background... well PixelLab can do most of that I guess, but this user is not all clued up on the finer bits so it took me a while longer to do than I had planned. I think I am finally happy with my layout.

We also have an immunity challenge - we had to use only the colours in the Sugar & Spice bakery. That was easy enough as I had bought the collab kit. Just used non-cooking photos.
I also used a template from Miss Fish for my layout....  more photos from Wyndford - these from last year.

Well I guess I've survived week two of these challenges and have learnt new stuff.... am looking forward to the new challenge on Wednesday.

Speed scrapping

Yesterday I took part in my first speed scrap on facebook. It was held by Dandelion Dust Designs in their facebook group. Each instruction was given every few minutes and then we had about 20 minutes to finish and upload. The whole thing took around an hour. I managed to get my page done and loaded... it was such fun.

Everyone who finished received a free minikit.... yippee more scrapping stash. I've got a few more challenges I need to finish this weekend so I am sure there will be a few more posts coming.

Rachel Etrog - April Stories

It is sooooooooo good to be able to scrap a few pages whilst being stuck safe at home with the lockdown. It's even better when there are new kits that are just sooooooo pretty to be able to do it with too. Rachel Etrog has released her new "April Stories" kit at The Digital Press today.

This weekend we were supposed to go to Wyndford for our annual Mom/Daughter retreat with the LWM, but seeing as we are in lockdown that has all been postponed. Guess I will just spend the weekend reading and scrapping much the same as I had planned to do whilst away. The only exception is that I have to make the 3 meals a day that would have been provided... shucks hehehe
At least I do have photos of this wonderful place from the last few years so I can live in the memories.

Be sure to check this out in store too.

Rachel Etrog - Happy Bunny Days

April has started and finds us all in lockdown in South Africa for the Coronavirus (Covid-19). It's scary times but we can know that we are safe at home. I decided to make the best of this time and do stuff that makes me happy whilst at home... and that means doing a bit of scrapping. Yes I am still working from home too but at least I have the afternoons and evenings to do my own thing.

There is a new collection available at PixelScrappers right now from Rachel Etrog called Happy Bunny Days... perfect for Easter pics but also for some fun bunny scrapping. I dug out some photos of our cute bunnies from a few years back to scrap and ended up choosing this one.

Be sure to check this collection out at PixelScrappers.
