The translation is so bad, to the point that I sometimes get the general meaning that the translated word is so incorrect and sometimes even has the opposite meaning!!
I read the book after I watched the series and I liked how the book and the adaptation are similar...more

ASixty five years ago, a love story bloomed, Al Locke an officer in the Navy met Elin Jenkins the Welsh nurse who captivated him from the first look. An interest in Abraham Lincoln's ancestery, he followed her to her home town where she showed him Abraham Lincoln's grandmother's grave. A love story so beautiful ended with plan for marriage but a misunderstood telegram ruined it all. Elin's side is so sad and heartbreaking, I felt her pain deep inside my heart.
"A beautiful and heartbreaking story about lost love, forgiveness and family secrets." It is exactly that.
I received this audiobook thanks to Bookuture and NetGalley....more

"The Field" by Ian Dawson is a captivating novel that I absolutely loved and highly recommend, especially for young teens. This book is an excellent exploration of friendship, self-discovery, courage and the trials of puberty. The story delves deeply into the contrasting personalities of Daniel and his best friend, Kyle. Daniel's self-awareness and maturity stand in stark contrast to Kyle's more impulsive nature, highlighting the different ways teenagers cope with growing up. This dynamic is beautifully portrayed and adds a rich layer to the narrative. Moreover, "The Field" does not shy away from darker themes, such as the abusive relationship between Austin and James. Dawson masterfully depicts James's weakness and vulnerability against Austin's psychopathic tendencies. Austin's character, in particular, is both chilling and intriguing. As a reader, I found myself wanting more insight into his motivations, especially regarding his bizarre need to impress his uncle, only to kill him in cold blood. This aspect of the story left me curious and somewhat unsettled, as Austin's actions seemed to stem from a twisted need for approval that wasn't fully explored. One minor issue I had was with some of the character decisions. For example, it was perplexing why Kyle didn't run for help when he had the chance. Similarly, Daniel's decision to clean up instead of seeking immediate assistance after his escape felt unrealistic, given the dire circumstances. Despite these points, the overall narrative is so compelling that these moments do not detract significantly from the story. Ian Dawson has created a memorable story that will resonate with young readers, providing both entertainment and a meaningful exploration of the challenges of growing up. This book is a must-read for teens looking for a gripping and thoughtful story....more

Dahab advocates for a proactive and understanding approach to criticism. While some repetition is present, it reinforces the core message. The book is particularly valuable for younger readers or those new to navigating life's complexities. I liked its genuine encouragement to improve judgment and considerate responses.

The story re"All Mixed Up" by Heidi Hutchinson is a captivating exploration of second chances in love set against the backdrop of the music industry. The story revolves around André's sudden and unexplained departure from Nikki's life shortly after proposing to her. Two and a half years later, their paths intersect when André takes on a summer renovation job at the music studio where Nikki harbors her dreams of becoming a music producer.
The book's premise is rich with potential, and it skillfully combines themes of lost love and pursuing one's dreams. The character of Nikki, a budding music producer, adds depth to the narrative, making her journey towards her dreams even more relatable.
While the majority of the book is engaging and emotionally charged, it's worth noting that I was a bit dissapointed with the final quarter or third of the story, longing for more events and drama.
Heidi Hutchinson's evolving writing style is evident throughout the book, even though it may not my favorite by the author. Individual reading experiences can vary widely, and what might not fully satisfy one reader could still resonate with another. If you're a fan of second chance romances with a strong connection to the world of music production and the pursuit of dreams, "All Mixed Up" is a book that might still pique your interest....more

The diverse narratives and the dynamic characters within each story kept me engaged throughout. Pearsall's ability to create intricate worlds and thought-provoking scenarios is commendable.
However, one aspect of the book that didn't resonate with me was the futuristic language used. While I appreciated the futuristic setting, I found that the language sometimes made it challenging for me to fully immerse myself in the stories. Nevertheless, the strength of the storytelling and the imaginative concepts more than made up for this minor drawback.
Overall, 'Tales from the Cosmic Boneyard' is a book I'd recommend to fellow science fiction enthusiasts. It's a testament to Pearsall's storytelling prowess and his ability to craft compelling narratives in a futuristic backdrop....more
