"All Mixed Up" by Heidi Hutchinson is a captivating exploration of second chances in love set against the backdrop of the music industry. The story re"All Mixed Up" by Heidi Hutchinson is a captivating exploration of second chances in love set against the backdrop of the music industry. The story revolves around André's sudden and unexplained departure from Nikki's life shortly after proposing to her. Two and a half years later, their paths intersect when André takes on a summer renovation job at the music studio where Nikki harbors her dreams of becoming a music producer.
The book's premise is rich with potential, and it skillfully combines themes of lost love and pursuing one's dreams. The character of Nikki, a budding music producer, adds depth to the narrative, making her journey towards her dreams even more relatable.
While the majority of the book is engaging and emotionally charged, it's worth noting that I was a bit dissapointed with the final quarter or third of the story, longing for more events and drama.
Heidi Hutchinson's evolving writing style is evident throughout the book, even though it may not my favorite by the author. Individual reading experiences can vary widely, and what might not fully satisfy one reader could still resonate with another. If you're a fan of second chance romances with a strong connection to the world of music production and the pursuit of dreams, "All Mixed Up" is a book that might still pique your interest....more

Like the legendary agent Sam Fischer has some past, Sarah and how she became her dad's new recruit... Sensing some past there!
And I just read "the renowned Splinter Cell videogame universe" ... Yeah.. I have no idea!
I'm clueless, nonetheless I loved this book! It felt like jumping in the middle of an ongoing story, but like feeling in right place as well.

I liked Josh so much to the point that it seemed weird how indifferent Gemma was toward him. How she described him as a house plant, always their but not noticeable. Or it was that she dissmissed him from the beginning, painting an unlikeable image of him in her head, or maybe she was afraid of liking him!
The point is I liked it, I enjoyed reading it and now I want to read more of Sarah Ready's books.

This was the second book I read by Meghan Quinn and I can say with almost certainty that she is not for me. The siblings having their moments with their significant others at the same time was too much for me.

ItLily took a job teaching eight year old Noah at home, but she found herself falling for his father Edward and marrying him after just a few months. It all started when her step son said to her ‘They're lying. They think I’ve forgotten, but I remember everything. I know my mummy is still alive.’
Lies, deceitfulness, manipulation..
I liked it and I enjoyed listening to it even if the narrator wasn't the best, she practically used one voice for everyone. The story kept me on my toes with the messed up family. Edward and his daughters were creepy for sure.

ElisabeFive college friends just turned forty years old and each of them has her own journey through life and its struggles with marriage, kids, work.
Elisabeth is lawyer. She focused on her career and didn't start trying for kids until she was thirty-five and she struggled when she wanted more kids. Sara is also a lawyer who overwhelmed herself with juggling work and four kids. Martha is a doctor who left work to stay with her kids. Carmen got pregnant in college and gave up her elite education to be a homemaker.
Heather, their high profile executive friend wrote a book "The Four Big Mistakes Of Women Who Will Never Lead Or Win" and it was about her four friends!
All The Right Mistakes is about the struggles women deal with, where no one respects their own choices in their own lives, judgements from men and other women alike, and sexism. Life is complex and it is messy. It has ups and downs. And it's never too late. This book is so good.

It is a sad story, that made me shed tears, that broke my heart. At first I couldn't make if it's going to be a mystery or an horror or maybe a fantasy! And it turned out to be a supernatural sad love story. And I loved it.
The one thing I didn't like is how long the ending was, it could have been as long as the epilogue was.
I want to say more about it but anything would be a spoiler. And WE HATE SPOILERS.

JGinny, forty years old, thought she could have a rebound with Josh after her ex who she thought she would start a family with cheat on her and left. Josh is twenty five and have big dreams and plans for his future. Would it be just a fling!? Josh's character is very mature, he even seemed older than her sometimes. I think the author did a good job, their relationship made a lot of sense.
The chemistry, the struggles.. All was perfectly delivered.

The story was good and it had potentials. But OH MY if the structure wasn't too weak and the details and conversations were too lame! With the kind of trauma Oliver went through since before he was born, it was unbelievable how kinda stable and fine he was! (this part could have used more work and details). But I guess I would give it another chance.
The narrators were cool and both of them delivered the emotions through their voices perfectly, if not the annoying parts were the male voice read Mina's dialogues, and the female voice read Oliver's.

But some details were either annoying or cringy. How the study was established is far from believable! Is that really how studies work! It was weird and unscientific. "The sex mentor/therapist" methods were the most creepy thing. Not to mention the relationships H has with her mother, her best friends, her boss, her coworkers!! She's really just pathetic.
This is not a romance this a novel about self-love, a journey to self-worth and confidence.
Rebecca has a "problem" with her sexual life, her last boyfriend even called her an ice queen and broke up with her after three years for that, so she participates in a study where she explores her anatomy and sexuality and self-worthness.

Who doesn't like a princess love story from time to time! A modern fairytale.. And he declared his love, asked her to marry him and then kissed her for the first time in that order. So yeah.. It was kinda sweet..
It has the vibes of a happy optimistic Cinderella without all the stepmother cruelty (thankfully I was in the mood while reading it, if I weren't I would have definitely hated it!) Overlooking a lot of the details, it was a nice read (including how everyone spoke English in a "French speaking Kingdom")

It felt good listening to this audiobook, the story was good and the narration was perfect. Though the mystery itself wasn't very exciting! One of the things I wasn't fond of, is how so many characters were considering stealing dogs are worse than killing another human! Really!! Are you f serious! And then how Belinda and Henry were always by the crime scene! How the dognappers used her barn on her land to keep the dogs! And how everything happened was just weird..
Nonetheless I may like reading the second mystery book!

Refugee High is a chronical of the school year 2017/2018 in Chicago's Sullivan High School, which contains one of the highest proportions of immigrant and refugee students in the US. In that year, there was students from thirty-five different countries, and thirty-eight languages were spoken inside the school.
The author spent the entire school year following four students; Mariah, an Iraqi refugee, Alejandro, an asylum seeker from Guatemala, Belenge, a Congolese refugee, and Shahina, a refugee from Myanmar. She shadowed each one of them inside and outside of school. And shared stories of other students from Syria, Congo, Burma,..
A story of violence, racism and fear. A hope of a better life but the struggle continue. There it comes Sullivan High and its administration and the programs they created to help this kids.
The story of Tobias, Belenge's father in Congo and how he fled to a refugee camp in Tanzania was heartbroking, the arranged marriages of young Muslim girls (14-16 yo) were shocking, even unbelievable! Alejandro's story kept me wondering what happened to him! ...more
