ASixty five years ago, a love story bloomed, Al Locke an officer in the Navy met Elin Jenkins the Welsh nurse who captivated him from the first look. An interest in Abraham Lincoln's ancestery, he followed her to her home town where she showed him Abraham Lincoln's grandmother's grave. A love story so beautiful ended with plan for marriage but a misunderstood telegram ruined it all. Elin's side is so sad and heartbreaking, I felt her pain deep inside my heart.
"A beautiful and heartbreaking story about lost love, forgiveness and family secrets." It is exactly that.

This "story" reminded me of the series Inventing Anna, Elizabeth and Anna's personalities are very similar! Except for the deceiving impact Elizabeth could've left! But the thing is, she's admirable, she played them, and sold dreams and they bought them!
This book is a story written by the investigative journalist who unravel the truth of Theranos, breakthrough health technology, the company's founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes was widely seen as the female Steve Jobs: a brilliant Stanford dropout whose startup promised to revolutionize the medical industry with a machine that would make blood tests significantly faster and easier.
They portrayed her as psychopath/ a sociopath, but she gives the vibes of more like a megalomania (even though I'm not the one who can analyze her!!) who has a vision of herself to be the next Steve Jobs, she has a dream, and she did everything to reach it! It's kind of impressive to witness what a person could do! And the same applies for everyone believed her and believed in her! Obviously for a share of the treasure!...more

Pearl lost her father when she was a teenager, he didn't die, but he left her and her brothers for a new family, and never looked back. Or that's what she thought! Her father died and left her his diaries. And her journey to get to know and understand her father begun.

Mecca is a community in California, named that for its climate. Its people are a mix of ethnicities and backgrounds. And the story is following different characters, Mexicans, black, Latinos, native Americans... The stories were interesting and has a mix of historical and contemporary fiction.
I liked listening to the audiobook but it took forever! Mainly due to the confusion.

Five years ago, all the residents of Gerbera subdivision in a small town were murdered except for five children, who escaped the brutal massacre. The case was never solved and the murderers vanished. When the five year anniversary was days away, the survivors received a letter, a threat that murderers are back to finish the work.
The story was good. But how a mass murder in a small town was unsolved and the local poli e turned a blind eye to it, is a mystery to me no matter what! Nonetheless, I liked the story and enjoyed the audiobook.

The story was good but the mystery wasn't very mysterious! So many parts were predictable, nonetheless it was enjoyable. And all the characters were unlikable and their relationships made no sense.
Sarah and Kirk's relationship was off with red flags, so the love was unexplainable! Except for Sarah being a weak, naive girl! The policeman Gavin being a psychopath cold hearted killer!
The narration was good and enjoyable.

I have mixed feeling about this book. I like the futuristic sci-fi part of it. But the other part about the president "Our Leader" and Woozler's director (his version of Twitter where they wooze instead of tweet), is just plain craziness!
The narration of the book of was great, and I liked it. I found Adam Bender's writing interesting and I would like to read another book by him.

Like the legendary agent Sam Fischer has some past, Sarah and how she became her dad's new recruit... Sensing some past there!
And I just read "the renowned Splinter Cell videogame universe" ... Yeah.. I have no idea!
I'm clueless, nonetheless I loved this book! It felt like jumping in the middle of an ongoing story, but like feeling in right place as well.

War is raging with neighboring sections, corrupt leaders, resistance blooms, ... And in the middle of all of that is a father fighting to find and to save his daughter.
An interesting dystopian science fiction. Which I loved. What I found more intriguing is that the author is a biology professor. But I was disappointed with the end. How from the rain becoming toxic without a direct contact and people dying just from volatile toxicity, to just finding the cure and the toxic rain just gone! Seemed too quick too fast of a solution.
