I loved Her Soul To Take and I LOVED LOVED LOVED Her Soul for Revenge. Harley Laroux is such a talented author.
I was a bit gunshy with this one because I suspected from the previous books that Everly was either a switch or the dominant role in the relationship with her demon. I wouldn't dare yuck anyone else's yum but neither of those things are remotely appealing *to me*. I wasn't excited for that and I wasn't excited to end this series. It's been so good.
My fears were true. Callum is definitely pretty dominant at times but they were both definitely switches and swapped the dom/sub role throughout their spicy times. I ended up skimming all the scenes that Everly was playing the domme in, it's just not my thing.
It was so fascinating to see this story from Everly's perspective. It was good to see Leon, Raelynn, Zane and Juniper again.
This is definitely a solid conclusion to this trilogy. I'll definitely miss all the characters.

I don’t think so. Was it worth the read? if you enjoyed the first one, I’d say yes. Here we get a MUCH softer side of Dimitri. He was downright unlikable in the first book. I love enemies to lovers, bully romance, dark romance etc but I’ve never understood the appeal of an H who acts like a raging asshole.
I welcomed seeing Dimitri be a big marshmallow for Emma. He does act like a dick again briefly. She loses her memory and he reasons if she fell for his assholery the first time it should work a second time.
I was thinking of rating this one higher but the villain story here lost me. I know stories need something like this in them but I didn’t care for the route the author chose. She had him get drugged at one point and then this woman pops up later claiming they fucked and she’s pregnant. It was obnoxious and unnecessary OW drama. She’s lying, of course, she has an ulterior motive and it’s obvious. So there’s no cheating but there is the perception of possible cheating that turned out to be false. It just left a bad taste in my mouth and how tf did she supposedly drug a demon born in 1209. Like he would be that easily drugged by a stranger.

I’ve been in**spoiler alert** I don’t even remember how long this book has been sitting in my KU borrows. I don’t remember why I picked it up either. I’ve been in such a reading slump for a frustratingly long time. Despite not really loving this book, I think it might have helped. I’m primarily a dark romance reader but I’ve been avoiding reading my favorite genre with a few exceptions. I apparently have a masochistic streak. I think I just need the dark stuff. I might be broken. All the sweeter romances just end up boring me.
I didn’t love this book but it was okay. If you like DARK romance, this is a solid read - it just missed the mark for me.
This is definitely dark. It’s also definitely not safe. If you need safe reads drop this book and run the other way. I’ll give more specific safety details and spoilers below. Proceed at your own risk.
This is a book about a demon who hates humans. There are too many triggers and content warnings for me to feel comfortable covering them all. The author does give extremely detailed content warning before the book begins so read those first if you have triggers. Maybe read those first before you read this review, it couldn’t hurt.
The heroine here is very sweet and innocent. She’s also very schizophrenic. I don’t think I could imagine a worse match for her than Dimitri. The only thing that makes it plausible is the fated mates stuff.
Dimitri is a demon who literally hates humans. He finds them beneath him. It doesn’t stop him from fucking human women though. The book opens with his first scene fucking a nameless woman to death. She’s already dead when the scene picks up. It’s very descriptive and he has a grand old time. There are two more scenes later after he’s met Emma. One where he fucks another nameless woman to death and one where he’s dug up a corpse to fuck because he doesn’t want the hassle of finding a woman. His demon half knows that Emma is their mate but Dimitri fight against it. He’s also obstinately against jerking off because he feels it’s beneath him. He eventually gets over that once he’s succumbed to the realization he only wants Emma.
Initially Dimitri just doesn’t want anything to do with the human. Eventually after he comes to terms that she’s his mate he holds back not wanting to harm her. Being a demon he’s a giant asshole to her most of the time. He runs hot and cold. Ultimately it was the hot and cold that turned me off. It just got a bit tedious to me and I was bored with his back and forth.
He doesn’t actually end up fucking Emma til past 80% and mating near the very end. All the other sex is either with other women or masturbation/fantasies/hallucinations. This ends on a HFN. There’s no separation between them but it takes a long time for him to give in and claim her. There is apparently another book. I’m intrigued enough to probably read it. ...more

Unfortunately this wasn’t quite my cup of tea. The smut was solid but I struggled to get through the beginning of the book. I should have probably stopped reading immediately but I had no way of knowing that the alternating flashback chapters would go on for 50% of the book. I hate that so much. Honestly, I don’t even see the benefit of the nonlinear timeline here. I understand some authors use it purposefully as part of the process but that definitely didn’t feel like the case here. There wasn’t really anything gained by telling it this way. It just annoyed and frustrated me. I think potentially it was supposed to be written this way to conceal that Grim and Mason were actually the same person but I assure you that there was absolutely never a question about this fact. It was 1000% obvious immediately that they were the same person and if the intent of the nonlinear storytelling was to obscure this from the reader it failed miserably.
I did enjoy the style of writing and authors voice despite the obnoxious alternating flashback/present day timeline switches. The author clearly set up potential stories for other reapers. I’d be interested in coming back to read those, especially if they aren’t told in this particular format.
This was pretty spicy overall. If you are just looking for some spice this delivers. The connection between Grim/Mason and Raven felt authentic. H was a broody dominant hero and I mostly liked him. The h was a tad annoying at times. She gave big nOt LiKe OtHeR gIrLs vibes but I’ve read worse.
H/h met when he saved her a kid. He’s punished for prematurely reaping the soul of her abuser so he’s away for 15 years or so. He watches/ stalks her each year when he’s free for one day a year and once he’s free he stalks and watches her for 6 months.
After she grows up and is old enough to go out and party so apparently goes a bit wild. Drinking, drugs, risky situations and sex. I got the idea she was a bit of a ho. She’s experienced a lot of abuse in her life so you can’t blame her for being so messed up. When H is watching her he’s angry with her for her shenanigans until he starts stalking her daily and gets a better idea of who she is.
Safety - he obviously is not out there banging other chicks after he meets her. She’s abused in foster care unfortunately. When she’s old enough to leave foster care she’s not celibate. Though her relations with other dudes all occur off page and H doesn’t intercede because she’s unaware he’s watching. I think he didn’t intend start anything up with her until he couldn’t resist her anymore.
This isn’t a bad story I just hated the way the author told the first half of it. If you don’t mind flashbacks every other chapter you will probably like this one more than I did. ...more

This was an interesting read. At no point, was I ever sure what was going to happen next. The story is a bit rambling but there’s comedic relief scattered throughout. Some of the characters make questionable choices and some of them are obnoxiously bad at basic communication but it’s still a fun read. This is fairly lighthearted for a book filled to the brim with gore and murder.
I do enjoy spicy books and if an RH/why choose is done well there’s always a bit more than a typical MF book. I’m loathe to say there there’s *too much* spice here BUT if you cut all the spicy bits out this book would be half the size… maybe less. It’s quite a lot. There’s so much spicy interwoven it’s a bit gratuitous and some of the scenes grow a bit repetitive but they are fun to read.
The Hs are Baz, Nemo and Orson. Orson is the most unlikable of the three but Baz and Nemo aren’t all that likable either. I *think* Baz is *supposed* to be the likable one here. To be fair, he provides most of the comic relief. However, he’s still not all that likable. It’s weird because, typically there is at least one guy you really like and root for. I felt sorry for him and Nemo but they are both still not great.
The h, Bree, is fun and quirky. She’s definitely the most likable character in the book. I was team Bree through the whole thing.
The ending is odd. I feel like it’s more of a HFN than a full HEA but it’s definitely a positive note for our group. There’s no cheating. ...more

Definitely spoilers below. If you realize you don’t actually want spoilers don’t read any further. If you just want general safety spoilers then probably avoid this. It’s not safe. There H shares the h a lot. This is pretty dark.
I mostly liked this. If you enjoy dark romance and demons you probably will like it too. There were a few elements I would have changed but overall I really liked this book.
The h was interesting enough. She had that nOt lIkE oThEr GiRlS vibe but i can handle that. She had a not fun upbringing and bullying so she can have it. She had some annoying moments but overall likable. I liked H avenging her by punishing those who hurt her. The h is SA’d on page by her ex and he’s punished viciously by H.
My two complaints aren’t a huge deal but they aggravated me. The first one is more minor. The h (Bandit) is all “I’m so stubborn I will put myself in danger to stick to my stubbornness ” and we see some of this. However she pretty much ceases her stubbornness the moment she realizes she wants to bang H (Meriham). H isn’t all that cruel to h, at least not in ways she doesn’t enjoy, so whatever. It was a bit annoying with the inconsistency but not a huge deal.
The second annoyance carried through the entire book. H claims to be possessive. The h belongs to him. Which I love except HE IS NOT. H is all “You’re mine, mine, mine” blah blah blah. However he immediately adds the caveat *unless I give permission, or allow another to touch you* AND HE DOES. A lot. He’s very free with his permission. If authors want H to share that’s all fine and dandy but don’t pretend H is possessive. Sharing is quite literally the opposite of possessive.
He takes her. He finger bangs repeatedly, at first denying orgasms and then forcing them over and over til she squirts. Then she tries to run away and he injects her with something to make her super horny and allows a Minotaur and Lucifer to fuck her in front of an arena of spectators. Mind you, he hasn’t fucked her. He’s all “I won’t fuck you til you beg” which she holds out til about 70% for some unknown reason.
Then there’s a point when he’s actively fucking her but stops in the middle and calls in a replacement to continue fucking her that have never seen before and know nothing about because he’s called away to handle business.
Then in the epilogue it clear the sharing has continued at both of their pleasures but I maintain this is not the behavior of a possessive H.
There’s no OW, no cheating but lots of sharing h. No separation. The h is happy in the epilogue even though she didn’t choose to stay with H. He forces her to stay with him and she’s obviously good with that despite trying to escape. ...more

It’s pretty straightforward. Post apocalyptic society where women have no rights. The h prays for a better life and these three demons show up to answer her prayers. I’ve not come across anything like this before. It’s very short, only 60something pages. It’s a unique story. The h is an author, H is a character she’s written three books about. We start to get hints he’s a bit more than a creation of her imagination. I think this would have probably worked better as a full length book to explore the relationship and feelings however as smut this is pretty good. All the focus between them is on the sex. We just sort of have to accept there’s more there and she’ll be content giving up everything for him.
Safety - we get hints that she’s written a previous love interest for him but it didn’t work out. He tells us he’s had sexy times far beyond what she’s written for him. When he manages to appear in her world he has her write things as a vow sort of, he mentions sharing her with his friends but she can’t type it out so he says “ok, that’s a hard limit” and move on. ...more

The covers for this series are pretty awesome. That’s one selling point but a great cover doesn’t make a great book. I’m not saying this is terrible but it’s far from good either.
I don’t know if it’s because this is a collaboration but the story feels extremely disjointed. I’ve never read anything by either author so I don’t know if they just don’t have narrative styles I vibe with or if this story is such a mess because they don’t really vibe well together. I found myself being drawn in sometimes and then cringing at others.
The storytelling is choppy. It felt like we were jumping from scene to scene rather than flowing. This is a FOUR book series. This book alone is 408 pages and everything here is very surface level and shallow. With a four book series I expect to know these characters intimately but it never happens.
She’s got these four dudes. They all want her. She wants them, sometimes. She’s all twisted up because reasons. Aside from straight up fated mate bonds we aren’t really given anything to go on as to why they all want her so badly. At this point, as far as the authors have said, Kingston is her fated mate. The others all want her. I suspect they are all fated mates because she’s clearly not a normal wolf shifter BUT so far we have’s learned if the others are actually her fated mates or not. Noah (Thorne) decides she’s his mate, it doesn’t acknowledge fated or otherwise, just his mate. She doesn’t immediately agree that they’ll be mates though.
The vampire, Noah (Thorne), starts off wanting to kill her. Her blood sings to him (love those Twilight vibes lol). He’s kind of douchey but not too douchey. She’s charmed. Then he ghosts her every five seconds. Then he’s literally had himself *branded* with a traitors mark because he’s decided to mate her no matter what - he never even discussed this before hand. Ok, then. She’s pretty up for it though it takes her a hot minute to fully commit. She’s indecisive and all.
Then her supposed fated mate Kingston. Here we have her rejecting him pre-book. He’s a douchebag to the extreme. He’s got severely fragile masculinity because he badmouths her to everyone because she rejected him. Here’s the thing. He knows why she rejected him. Everyone knows. She’s a shifter who can’t shift. She can’t accept a bond since she can’t shift. This is literally why she says she can’t bond him. Half the time the authors act like that isn’t a thing though. I suspect these two aren’t on the same page about the reason for the rejection or how widespread this knowledge is supposed to be.
We are also super lucky to be treated to her happening upon Kingston balls deep in a whore he’s using to comfort his fragile little feelings. Super fucking unnecessary. I’ll never understand why disgusting scenes like this are written into ROMANCE novels. How many women read these books to see H fucking OW on the page? If you’re one then, I promise you’re in the minority. I don’t need my books to be 100% safe but unless I’m reading a book about cheating (and I sometimes like those so I occasionally do) I don’t want to find H with his dick in another woman. Fucking gross. Good luck redeeming this douchenozzle now. I can feel it my bones though. These two have already laid the groundwork. It’s h’s fault he fucked OW, right? It’s not cheating. They aren’t together. It’s all HER fault. H is just a man. He had to fuck OW so he could feel manly again. The h is all to blame for making him fuck OW. He’s innocent here so nothing to redeem. GTFOH with that misogynistic bullshit. They won’t redeem H because he’s the real victim here. Fucking gross.
Then Alex who’s super into her and it’s unclear what’s in the way other than they don’t really know each other or spend any time together. So why does he want her?
Caleb the vampire priest is also a jerk most of the time but she plays out these constant bratty DDlg scenes with him even though he’s trying real hard not to play along (he’s failing miserably).
Oh there’s also a nasty vampire OW who bites the dust so I’m not really sure why she’s there. I personally hate OW drama most of the time so not sad to see her skanky ass die but like also why bother in the first place.
My intention here wasn’t to rant my way through this review but I clearly had some things to get off my chest, if you made it this far, I’m sorry lol.

I didn’t realize until just now that this is the 5th book in the series. I saw an ad on Facebook and was pulled in by the setup. I didn’t look beyond that apparently. It makes sense that there are other books though.
This was ok. I’m not sure I’d call it light or fluffy because of the high frequency of mentions and reminders that the Hs first wife not only killed herself but their three year old son. This, of course, has given the H a big old complex about being unworthy and uses it to justify his fear of commitment. Yawn.
The setup here was entertaining. Once the h was with H, as his Ward it got repetitive. The h is a first class Mary Sue which was only mildly annoying. I liked her for the most part.
The H’s unworthy complex is the largest obstacle here and it got extremely old fast. My interest significantly waned while he meandered his way to epiphany.
