This book is fun as fuck. Not only did it have me laughing throughout nearly the entire book, I LOVED the way the dialogue and jokes were written. This is my first book by Moray, so I'm not sure if this is their usually writing style, but I actually really enjoyed how conversational and laid-back it was; it gave the story a wonderful flow. I also appreciated how Cameron and Tal'jen sounded different in their POVs - nothing drives me crazier than when an author writes characters from different worlds and their POVs sound like the same fucking person.
To enjoy this book you need to throw caution to the wind and leave any sense of pragmatism at the door. It's completely nonsensical but in a way that makes it silly and playful - the planet smells like COTTON CANDY for crying out loud! I actually kind of the respect the way Moray was like "this is how I want the plot to go so I'm gonna make up some shit to make it so" (e.g. the device that teaches you another language while you sleep) - I love when an author just says "fuck it" and lets their creativity run naked and feral through the streets. But also, reality has absolutely no place in omegaverse so I'm glad that the author leaned into it; so much so that they came up with their own spin on it.
I'm really eager to see where the rest of the story goes since there's plenty to the plot left unresolved (elements outside of Cam & Tal's relationship). While slightly derivative, I still think Moray has created a really interesting and unique world and I'm looking forward to seeing which characters will become the MCs in Book 2!...more

This was a solid introduction to the series - it definitely had its ups and downs but I still found it enjoyable. The world-building is fairly light in the grand scheme of things but I still really like the world that Ashe Moon has set up for this series. There's a clear divide between the dragons and the humans and Altair & Grayson as a couple are clearly the bridge needed between the two species.
I loved the interactions between Grayson and the whole flight. Rainor & Delos warming up to him and then totally falling head over heels for Dalia was freakin' adorable! Delos, as the quiet & broody character, already has a special place in my heart and I CAN'T WAIT for his story - I already know it's bound to be good.
Overall? Good but not great. You can tell that this book acts as more of a set up for the series and the sex scenes (while still good) weren't anything amazing. At first, it kind of sounded like there was something unique about fucking a dragon but it reads like regular ol' smut. Don't get me wrong, we still love our tried-and-true generic smut, but it was also written pretty generically and it wasn't as engrossing as I'd hoped it would be....more

I am so glad we got to see Xan's happily ever after! The dynamic between Xan, Urho, & Caleb is absolute perfection - I adore all three of them and how they all bring something different to the table. Also, I am overjoyed that we still got a heavy dose of Jason & Vale because I absolutely was not ready to let go of them yet and I hate when the first couple is forgotten in sequels within the same storyline.
This is exactly what I needed - I am SO GLAD Leta Blake took the time to write this! As much as I loveYesssss, more Jason & Vale!! I like it, Picasso.
This is exactly what I needed - I am SO GLAD Leta Blake took the time to write this! As much as I loved Alpha Heat, I so badly wanted Jason & Vale's POV and this is all of that + the fabulous cabin scene that was mentioned.
Jk, but also, not really. Yes, there's a plot (a very sweet one at that & just enough to make you invPorn with feelings.
That's it. That's the review.
Jk, but also, not really. Yes, there's a plot (a very sweet one at that & just enough to make you invested in the MCs), but it's honest-to-god deliciously filthy porn, y'all.
I guess my "review" would be to say that it's well-written porn, because it definitely is. Sure, it get a tad repetitive but like, you can only be so creative when you're limited by the number of holes to fill so *shrug*. I'm actually impressed that it wasn't as repetitive as I was expecting - there was definitely something new added into the mix every time they shook the sheets.
It's also very sweet & fluffy, so if you like your book porn low-angst and borderline cavity-inducing - look no further. But also, don't let that fool you into thinking that this isn't hot af, cause wow. All the fire emojis. ...more
Slow heat, indeed. My goodness, what a deliciously slow burn.

Okay, I've been reading Omegaverse for a while and UM, THIS WAS SO GOOD?? Granted, this is the first published A/B/O book that I've read since most of what I've read is fanfic, but STILL.
The sweetest of characters, the yummiest angst, and sex scenes that make my blood burn like molten gold.
I'm not going to spend a stupid amount of time getting into the nitty-gritty of the writing/plot because honestly, this is the kind of book that you know instinctually whether you're either going to like or dislike. But just know that if you like anything M/M, A/B/O, Mpreg, age-gap, etc. - I guarantee you're gonna like this....more
