At first, everything seemed to happen really fast. Alex is working in a lab but we don't get much details. There is a fire and a malfunction...and presto he wakes up in a hospital bed 200 years in the future. There is an almost instant attraction between him and his doctor Baylin.
I was getting a strong creepy feeling from the mysterious Major and this plays out in a way I didn't expect. The story drew me in once some secrets were revealed and I wanted more. (view spoiler)[Finding out the Major is in fact an alien was surprising, especially with the whole "you are my mate" thing. I was intrigued with the mention about possible m-preg with these aliens...I wonder if this will be explored in future works (hide spoiler)]
The ending seemed a little rushed to me and I wanted more of Alex and Baylin. I wonder what will happen to them next....more

The story did drag a little at some points and there were quite a few misunderstandings. I guess this is to be expected when one MC is from another time.
It was never mentioned what eye condition Laurent had. I'm guessing cataracts, but he seems young to be afflicted so severely with those.
The impossibly difficult Laurent found himself in was too easily resolved IMO but I'm still glad it all worked out in the end....more

First off, I didn't really get the importance of Inigo what's-his-name. Why was Taylor so fascinated with him, why did Brody tell her stories of him when she was a child and why is Veris determined to make him known to human history again? It just makes no sense to me whatsoever and it frankly brought the whole book down for me.
There are just too many coincidences...the day Taylor gets fired, she just happens to hear Inigo's lyrics playing in a death metal song in her neighbor's apartment!!! And that particular band just happens to be giving a concert in her town that very night!!! For some reason, the lead singer comes soaring up from the stage on wires directly to her and kisses her!!!
This kiss begins the weird series of waking dreams where Taylor is dragged into Brody and Veris' past. Oh yeah, the whole vampire thing is kind of just thrown in there. Taylor doesn't seem to be surprised or affected by this. She asks no questions and hardly bats an eye.

It is not my favourite though as I found some of the story lines a little slow. The whole part leading up to the battle with the English was tedious, as were William's numerous introspections.
The cliffhanger from the previous book where Roger thinks that Jem goes into the past is resolved...sort of. I enjoyed our foray in 1980 and can't wait to see how the reunion turns out.
I really loved the double marriage and wedding nights (super hot). Claire did a few cool surgical procedures but I wanted more. Although I must admit that the eye surgery and fistula repairs were pretty gruesome.
The long wait begins again unfortunately but at least I can console myself by watching the second season of Outlander coming out soon....more

I've never read anything like this before and I can't stop thinking about it (deserves at least 10 stars). This epic story is about Ehd (lonely cave-man) and the strange young women he finds in his pit trap. Elizabeth "Beh" obviously comes from the future since she's wearing modern clothes and won't stop making noise that hurts Ehd's head. He can't comprehend language but is by no means stupid. Through his POV we get a totally unique perspective and I often found myself laughing out loud ("Hoh") or sobbing ("Ehd luffs"). Ehd has to be one of the most caring men to have ever existed. He accepts Beh's weirdness and takes her as his mate.
Brace yourselves fellow readers and enjoy the ride....more

I might give the other installments a shot but they've definetely lost some ground on my TBR list. I just couldn't connect with Adrienne. She drove me a little nuts actually with all her "beautiful men suck" perspective. She had one bad experience...so suddenly all men are off the table (give me a break). Hawk was hot of course but he seemed to fall in love so quickly and with no doubts whatsoever. It just all seemed a bit implausible especially the part about her still being a virgin!!! Wasn't she married before??? This makes no sense....more
