She needed help but wasn't a damsel in distress. Determined to do things herself. Elliott started out grumpy, rough around the edges but he was so caring and giving in his own way, such a likeable hero. He owns a company, she ends up as his assistant.
Lots of dialogue, connection, and facets of the story. Main conflict was resolved fairly quickly which is my fave. But there were plenty of other things going on to keep me engaged. This was my first of the series, off to read the rest....more

It was a kinda slow-burn,kinda not that worked for me. Loved the enemies to lovers feel, that there was a lot of touching and talking with the PT to build up that anticipation for when they finally worked things out. The conflict wasn't too over the top and no one super fighting feelings so I just had that feel good feeling throughout most of the book. Topped off with a huge smile for Stevie and Bishop at the end. So yeah, that's my 5-star ramble. You're welcome ...more

I enjoyed Knox and Emory's banter and the early days of their relationship progressing.
Things were really good up until a certain point in the book... (view spoiler)[ I can't stand huge time lapses in books. I feel like so much is lost over that time span. And as the years kept going by I just kept noting how sad I was about it. Then all of a sudden they reconnect 8 years later and BAM, happily ever after. I totally get her letting him go but I wish they would have stayed a little more connected and not let so many years pass before reconnecting. (hide spoiler)] Because of that alone, it made it more of a 3.5-4 star book for me. I'm glad they got their HEA though and overall it was an enjoyable read. ...more

The whole thing with Hunter confused me. I loved the Off Campus Series so I was excited to jump into this one. But the storyline fell a little short.
The whole thing with Hunter confused me. Like, are we working up to a love triangle, a threesome....? I felt like all the little nods to Hunter needed to be Fitz so I could fall for him and believe that him and Summer should end up together. I finally got those feelings around 70%. So it took me that long to get to a point where I didn't want to put the book down.
It was fun to see glimpses of the Off Campus crew. And I liked that Fitz had the jock status but then the smart, nerdy side. And he was super sweet and supportive helping Summer with her issues.
Looking forward to the next book in the series!...more

This story was one of those feel good, fun stories that left me smiling and swooning by the end. It's a slow burn, sorta friends to lovers trope. I say "sorta" because they're both attracted to each other but put each other into the friend zone. Finn & Chess, swoon.

This was my first Karina Halle read and I really enjoyed it. Aurora was so good for Aksel and his girls. He was a brooding King, carrying a lot of guilt. She was a strong and sassy nanny, didn't take him so seriously. There was a little bit of mystery to figure out but nothing too angsty, over the top. It was a feel-good story with a great HEA epilogue that left me swooning and smiling, so happy for them.
“I am a king. And I belong to you in ways I never thought possible. More than I belong to my country, more than I belong to the people, I belong to you.”

I was so excited to get my hands on this one! Sadly, it fell a little flat for me. I laughed through a few parts in the beginning. Shook my head at most of Charlotte's advances and things she would say. And rolled my eyes here and there (I mean, that proposal...).
This wasn't as much of an 'enemies to lovers' as I thought it was going to be based on the title. And although I liked Reed, he was the hero playing the "I'm no good for you" card. It seemed he only fought for Charlotte when there was mention of another man.
I think meddling Grandma Iris may have been my favorite and given the best advice throughout this book...
"But you need to figure out how to love the life that you have, while you work on the life that you want."
"You can only find true happiness within yourself, not inside of other people, no matter how much you care about them. Make yourself happy, and the rest will come."
"And, sweetheart, we live in New York City. There are two things we don’t have to chase after: trains and men. Because there’ll always be another one ready to pick us up right behind the first."
It was nice that the epilogue jumped so far forward so we could see where their choices brought them....more

➡️The emails exchanged between Peyton and Rome were fun and made me laugh.
➡️Peyton had a feisty side with a sassy mouth.
"Oh, Rome. I don't think I'm in charge here. I know I am. You might be the boss at work, but I'll be the boss of this bedroom."
➡️Peyton changed Rome for the better ❤️
"I'm different around her, more vulnerable, more aware of my feelings. Not so much of a prick. And even though I kind of hate to admit it given where we started, she makes me happy."
➡️And let's not forget about Hunter. He was a great side character! And now I'm just going to sit over here and wait for his book to be written because I'll for sure read that ish. ...more

I love Adriana Locke's writing, the story flowed well, Crew was great, Everleigh was the cutest.
I struggled with the book being surrounded by such heavy, sad topics. Julia not being able to get out of her head, pushing Crew away for so long until bam, she didn't. I never felt their connection although I did enjoy getting to see their past. {the best part about second chance romances!} Not getting enough of her and Crew together, needing to see more of their happiness without the heavy issues. Because that epilogue. Sobs. Nooooo, I need more! Speaking of sobs, I probably should have cried reading this based on the issues at hand but didn't :(
Oh, and why the descriptive scene with OW? I thought maybe she would become an issue at some point in the story and that was why we needed such detail on their encounter but nope...
Overall a decent book but not my favorite. ...more

Mila Carmichael marched her way into his life unexpectedly and made herself right at home. She's strong, has goals of her own, and isn't afraid to speak her mind. Perfect for the Bishop family!
This one started out a little slow for me....it took a while to get to where Mila and John actually meet and then there wasn't much aside from skirting around feelings through the first 1/2. But once they did it was a sweet and fun ride that had me pulling for them to work things out.
This one can be read as a standalone but there's so much crossover of characters so you might as well start at the beginning to keep up with the clan. Such a fun series! ...more
