Pattern Notes rem - remaining
This super bulky cabled beanie is a fast and satisfying rhn - right hand needle
knit. Written in one size fits most, this hat is the perfect rnd - round
accessory for this season’s gift-giving! This beanie is ssk - slip, slip, knit
designed with a snugger fit. Go up one needle size for sm - slip marker
a looser fitting hat. Just keep in mind this will use up a st/s - stitch/s
bit more yardage than stated in pattern. Finish off your 2/2 LC - 2 over 2 left leaning cable
beanie with a large fluffy pom. 2/2 RC - 2 over 2 right leaning cable

Yarn Stitch Guide


2 skeins of Knit Picks Tuff Puff (pictured in “Snicker- SSK - Slip two stitches knitwise, one at a time, place
doodle”, or approx. 85 yards/78 meters of Super Bulky them back onto LHN purlwise, knit both together
weight yarn through back loops. (2 sts decreased to 1)
Note: Yardage needed does NOT include a gauge
swatch. K2tog - Insert RHN through two stitches from left to
right knitwise, yarn over needle and pull through both
Needles stitches. (2 sts decreased to 1)
Brim: Size US #13 (9 mm) 16” Circular Needles
Hat: Size US #15 (10 mm) 16” Circular Needles & a set CSD - Centered Single Decrease
of Double Point Needles (Worked over 3 sts)
Slip two stitches knitwise, one at a time, place them
Notions back onto LHN purlwise, knit both together through
Stitch marker back loops. (Essentially, you’ve worked the first 2 sts as
Tapestry Needle a SSK.) Insert left needle tip through the second stitch
Pom-pom slipped of the SSK, from front to back. Bring yarn to
the back of the work and knit the last 2 stitches on
Gauge your LHN together. (3 sts decreased to 2)
Worked on size US #15 (10 mm) needles in cable pat-
tern. Measures 17 stitches & 22 rounds = 6”/15 cm x 2/2 RC - Slip 2 stitches to CN, hold to back. K2, K2
6”/15 cm, blocked. from CN.

Finished Measurements (unblocked) 2/2 LC - Slip 2 stitches to CN, hold to front. K2, k2
9.5”/24 cm wide x 9.5”/24 cm deep (laying flat) from CN.

Set up for working final round:


Remove stitch marker, slip first stitch of the
round purlwise with yarn in back, pm for
new BOR.
Work round 31. (12 sts)

Finishing:
Break yarn and pass through the 12 rem. sts.
Pull tail tightly and knot it inside the hat.
Weave in ends. Block to finished dimensions.
Attach pom-pom, if desired.
