Pattern Notes
The Cushion is made of 5 petals, 1 lip and 1 centre part, Following
the tutorial and using the recommended yarn, your finished
cushion will measure approx. 16”(40)cm petal to petal and is
approx. 5”(12.5cm) deep.

Yarn: Chunky - alternatively you could use DK doubled up.
Pink: 400g
Fuchsia: 50g
Pastel yellow: 20g
Yellow: 5g
Darning Needle:
Fiber fill also known as Toy stuffing: approx. 250g
Below is showing the colors and brand that I have used. However
you can use any colours and brand of Chunky yarn or wool of your
choice. Gauge is not important as long as you are consistent.

Base Assembly
Crochet both parts together stitch for stitch with sc.(p1).
Leave approximately 20 stitches unworked and stuff evenly (p2).
Thread 2 strands of yarn (p3). Stitch through the centre of the
base, just at the side of the hole, and come out at the top (p5/6).
Feed the yarn back through to emerge back at the base (p7).
Tie a very tight knot or 3 to pull the inner part of the cushion
together so you end up with an indentation (p8).

Add Patches to the Petals
Line up the edge of the patch with the edge of the petal.
Pin to keep in place (p1). Sew the edges together first (p2). Then sew
the zig zag edge in to place (3/4). Add the small patch to one of the B
petals in the same way.

Lip Petal Assembly
Place one of the wings at the side of the lip as shown in (p1).
Count approximately 9 stitches down from the top where I placed the
marker.
Place another marker through the loops of both parts, count
approximately 7 stitches and place the third marker through both parts
there as shown in (p1).
You should now have 5 stitches in between the markers.
Fold the wing over the lip (p2/3).
Sew the wing to the lip on the outside as shown in (p4/5).

Adding the Small Lip and Nose
Stitch through the middle of the widest part of the large lip (p1/2).
Sew in the tail.
Cut a long double strand of yarn. Stitch through the back of the nose
from the bottom up. The pointed part of the nose is the top (p3/4).
Pull the yarn strands equally down and feed all 4 through needle (p5).
Stitch through the edge at the top of the lip between the 2 colors (p6).
Do NOT cut the tails. They are needed to assemble the cushion.

Putting it all together
Start with the B petal with the patch. Attach it to one of the loops in the
very first round in the middle of the top of the cushion base (p1). To save
on sewing in you can just tie a couple of knots at the back (p2). Hide the
tail in the petal. Pin in place for now (p3).
Fold the petal back (p4) until you see the very last round of loops. Attach
the petal in those loops one each side (p5/6).

Attaching the B Petals
Also attach the petal at the widest point where I placed the sewing
pins (p1). Just pull up the side a bit and attach it to the closest loop in
the 3rd last loop round (p2).
Attach the 2nd B petal with the pointed part at the base, to one of the
loops in the 3rd round (p3/4). Count approximately 3 loops and attach
the last of the B petals there (p5/6).

Position the lower part of the petals so that you can see approximately
7 clear loops in the last loop round in between the petals (p1). Once
you are happy with the positioning, you can pin and fix in place in the
same way as the first B petal (p2/3).

Adding the Large Petals
Attach the 2 large A petals on each side approximately 2 loops
away from the B petal with the patch in the first loop round again.

Adding the Large Petals cont …
Position the large petals so the edges below the patches are lining up
with the edges of the B petals. Place pins there to hold in place for
now. Also place a couple of pins at the top edge of the patches (p1).
Once you are happy with the positioning you can fix the petals in
place at those points from the back of the petal (p2). The easiest way
is to just feed the yarn through both petals and tie a tight knot. Then
hide the tails in the petal (p3).

For the last two fixing points, fold the large petals back until you
can see the loop round before the last (p1/2). Fix the petal in to
place there. The dots indicate the approximate area where the
fixing point is below the petals (p3).

Adding the Lip
Stitch with all 4 tails through the middle of the cushion
between the large petals (p2) and emerge on the other side.
Tie several tight knots with the tails (p3).
Fold the lip up and fix it in place at the 2 points shown in (4).
Finally fix each of the wings as shown in (p5).
