MATERIALS
Yarn of your choice, 2 different
colors
I used 3ply RED HEART yarn
For my size S-XS, I used 115g from
each color
6 mm hook
scissors

GAUGE SWATCH
With a 6 mm hook I got a gauge of 13 stitches
and 7 rows in DC off of a 10cm x 10cm swatch
PATTERN
FRONT PART
ch 40, sl st into first chain
row 1: ch 2, DC in the same stitch as ch 2, Inc in the next 6
stitches (2 DC in the same stitch) , DC x 2, 5DCtog ( do a Dec
stitch over the next 5 stitches), DC x 2, Inc in the next 7
stitches, DC x 8, Inc 5DC (place 5 DC in the same stitch),
DC x 8, sl st into the first DC | 53 stitches
now it should look like fig. 1

(you can put a stitch marker in the stitch before the Dec),

Now depending on your size or
how do you want the sweater to
fit you, you will do rows of only
DC and 2DC-ch2-2DC for the
corners in the ch2 space from
the previous row
For reference, I did 3 more
rows of DC for a XS size and
a fitted look
OPTIONAL: You can start at
the first row to outline the
heart. If you think there's too
large a space in the stitch
where you made the increase
(fig. 5), thread a needle with
the yarn you'll use for the
outline and tie a knot, then fig. 5
make slip stitches all around.
You can add 2-3 slip stitches
at the top. When you reach the
end, chain 1 and cut the yarn
BACK PART
ch 18
row 1: skip 3 ch, 6 DC in the same stitch, 5DCtog, DC x4, 7 DC in the
same stitch (it should look like fig. 3), turn your work on the
other side, DC x6, Inc 5 DC in the same stitch, DC x6, change
color at the last stitch, sl st into ch 3 (it should look like fig.4 )

ASSEMBLING BACK AND
FRONT/ SLEEVES
Put the front and the back wrong side fig. 6
out, attach the yarn in the top right
corner in the ch 2 space, ch 1 then sl
st for however many stitches you like
(for my XS size, I did 10)
Repeat on the left side
You can find some reference in fig. 6
For working the sleeves, attach the
yarn at the bottom right corner and
work upwards, sl st for however many
stitches you prefer (I did around 20);
the stitches left will form your sleeve.
Once you're done with the slip
stitches, flip your work inside out and
DC around. Continue this process until
you reach your desired length,
alternating your colors every 3 rows.
Optionally, you can half double crochet
(HDC) the last row in a color that is
different from the one used in the
previous row.
