Avatar Legends, the official tabletop roleplaying game, is live on Kickstarter, funded in 16 minutes, and now nearing one million dollars!
From Magpie Games comes Avatar Legends: The Roleplaying Game, the official tabletop roleplaying game of the world of Avatar! (Think Dungeons & Dragons, where you create your own characters and roleplay their adventures, etc.)
The highly impressive trailer, narrated by Greg Baldwin (the voice actor of Iroh in ATLA Book Three: Fire and TLOK) is above.
In the tabletop gaming industry, Kickstarters are a common funding and distribution model, and this is no exception. It was really never a question of whether there would be enough funding, as evidenced the fact that the Kickstarter’s initial goal of 50 thousand dollars was met in 16 minutes, and as of my typing this is past 850k with no sign of slowing down yet– well on its way to 1 million and beyond!
Check out the Kickstarter, which includes all the details you need to know, here:

The one bit of news I want to call out is that as part of a 50-page Avatar encyclopedia of sorts, the game’s core book will contain “never-before-released canon material on Avatar Roku’s era”.
This is pretty exciting knowing that this is an official release in collaboration with Avatar Studios. Magpie Games confirmed to us that the Avatar Legends name and logo were given to them by Avatar Studios (note that the “Legends” part of the Avatar Legends logo is in the same font as the Avatar Studios logo). As is publicly searchable at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, we also know that ViacomCBS trademarked “Avatar Legends” for merch/games/etc., but not for movies, TV series, books, etc. as of yet.
The Avatar Legends Kickstarter runs from today, August 3rd, to September 2nd.
From Studio Mir, the animation studio behind The Legend of Korra, here’s the first trailer for Netflix’s feature film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf
[Content warning for some nudity in the trailer.]
The legendary Studio Mir is back with a flagship new release, an original animated feature film in Netflix’s The Witcher franchise titled The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Studio Mir has entered into an official partnership with Netflix.
The trailer shows some stunning animation a level above the norm. This movie; along with other upcoming projects like the theatrical animated feature film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim from Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema (The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit live-action film trilogies); three animated Game of Thrones spin-off series in development at HBO Max; and of course Avatar Studios, a new, dedicated studio for the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra working on an animated theatrical feature film and multiple series for Paramount+; are ushering in a new era of prestige animation.
Insight Editions sent me this super cool video showcasing Legacy of the Fire Nation! (Which is out now. 😉)
You can see a ton more previews at the link above too!
The Dragon Prince official trailer!
From the head writer and a director of Avatar: The Last Airbender comes a new fantasy adventure, only on Netflix September 14th.
Netflix announces Lego Elves, animated by The Legend of Korra’s Studio Mir
Since creating the iconic animation of The Legend of Korra, Studio Mir has lended its talents to Voltron: Legendary Defender, and now another new Netflix original animated series: Lego Elves: Secrets of Elvendale.
Lego Elves is a high fantasy fairytale based on an existing Lego toy line, with the following official synopsis (looks like we have some lore to catch up on…)
LEGO Elves picks up with its hero character Emily Jones as she returns through the portal to Elvendale with her little sister, Sophie. After charming many of the Elves upon her arrival, Sophie is taken by the cruel Goblin King and his evil minions. Emily and her cast of Elf friends head deep into a magical forest to save her sister and free Goblin Village from its tyrannical king.
Above is the first of two trailers released, below is the second! The first season of Lego Elves is coming to Netflix on September 1st.
