This took way too long to find. Blocking the "Sign in with google" on sites via custom filter. Add accounts.google.com/gsi/* to the filter and adios stupid Sign in with google popups.

New uBlock Origin rule to clobber the intrusive "Copilot" button that recently appeared in Outlook web mail:

      ! Jul 25, 2025 https://outlook.office.com
      outlook.office.com##

Note: there should be three (3) pound signs between ".com" and "CopilotCommandCenterButton". For some reason my fediverse server does not display all three.

This post is not an invitation to criticize me for using a Microsoft product or to suggest an alternative.

Another new intrusive AI anti-feature popped up in Atlassian Jira today. I zapped it with uBlock Origin.

This is so much like when ads started flooding everything online, right down to the tools I'm using to de-clutter sites and webapps. At this point Jira is pimpled with terrible AI links nudged right next to legitimately useful features. Like it has acne, or maybe buboes.

Here's how Google Scholar looks once you add these rules to uBlock Origin.

The Google Scholar landing page, gloriously clean and free of any mention of AI.

If you're tired of seeing that AI nag on Google Scholar, here are two uBlock Origin rules that make it disappear (for now):

            https://scholar.google.com
            scholar.google.com;https://scholar.googleblog.com/2024/11/ai-outlines-in-scholar-pdf-reader-skim.html"]

            scholar.google.com.gs_red

The first line blocks the linked text. The second line blocks the red "New!". That one is likely to malfunction and catch other, possibly interesting stuff so you can omit that if you don't mind seeing a red "New!" without anything after it.

NB: my server misinterprets some of this text, and inserts a semicolon where there should not be one. Change href="; to href=", removing the semicolon, in the rules above before using them. The URL should come right after the open quote, with no semicolon ahread of it.
