Friendship Kisses Quilt......

This one has been a long time in the making......................

the fabrics were received mostly here in a fat 1/4 swap.....way back in 2009.......I had asked for "soft and pretty" fat 1/4's...........

no idea when the blocks were started - it was a long time ago..................... but I put the blocks together into a quilt top back in the crazy christmas sewing blitz 2017 link here

I'm pretty sure the block name is a reflection of friendship but I cannot find the block and the name............

EDIT thankyou Jo for helping this is a whirl wind block

if anyone knows the name of the block it would be appreciated..........

I called the quilt Friendship Kisses........friendship swap of fabrics and the cross in the block is xoxo kiss hug so the x being the kiss...........

once again can't have too many quilt pics...............

want to join me for a cuppa anyone????

there plans for a quilt in the making of this design of the table top..........

soon as I saw it I thought of quilting and had to have it.........

The blocks came to a stand still as I was lost as to how I wanted to join them.............

But in the end I am really happy with the setting.........

Gorgeous quilting......can't remember who did this one.........

No 3 pretty pink/pastals started life from a Fat 1/4 birthday swap.................clearly I asked to soft and pretty..........gorgeous fabrics I received............

Here are most of the fabrics when I received them.....good memories.......only a couple of the girls blog now...........

I just can't find the post with the blocks............I know I'll look in my blog book from 2009..........I know I was thinking of using pink chenille with the blocks..........ok looked and only found a post that showed a glimpse of them finished in June 2010 blocks were made and I took them on a retreat but clearly did nothing with them.......

this is what I started with today - blocks that needed to be squared off at 14.5in..........

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE BLOCK NAME?

I decided it needed sashing and cornerstones............

found that in the stash............I think it from Aster Manor...........

initially I was only adding sashing to the inside then the border but I decided it needed them all the way around too..............before the border...............

Love this border print............found it in the stash too..............

Needed another thin border of the cornerstone fabric before the final border..............

Decided looking at all these old projects I sucked at putting details in quite a few of them........so it's a bit of a mystery what I was thinking at the time..............

there are scraps from cutting these blocks but no idea where they are...........lol.............

This was to post last night but I fell asleep while typing it.............
Anyway suns not up and I am in the chookshed......it's a beautiful cool moring which will not last long enough....36 today..........soon as I hit publish I will be baking Pie...........Blueberry pie to be exact..........it's coming along very well............wait til I well you how long it's been baking for.........scared myself............

All you girls (in both swaps) helped make my day wonderful and I am so lucky to be able to participate in such fun.............I have enjoyed picking out fabrics for each birthday until now but to actually receive is wonderful.............so many beautiful fabrics............

here is my cake.............book worm and I cooked it together................it had to have strawberries in it..........so we served it with more strawberries and cream..........yummo..........

He wanted to cook me a rainbow cake..............it was a recipe I have not remembered using and was a bit different to usual to make but hey it worked beautifully...........all gone in a matter of minutes...........

oh and hints of spring sure are here..................yesterday was officially a shorts day.......I was wondering why I was so hot in my jeans and jumper and changed to shorts then discovered it was 27 deg C...............it started off windy and little cool but certainly warmed up...............and I still had doors open after dark and it wasn't cold...............madly trying to catch up on the neglected garden watering..............suddenly I am way behind....
