Well I was the last person to receive the Time for Tea swap (hiccup with the postage and lucky it went back to Bonnie) and I am sure the best was saved til last..........Bonnie Calamity Jane's Cottage was my swap aprtner and this is what she sent me........a table topper with teapots blankets stitch appliqued onto the backgrounds..............
"I'm a little teapot, short and stout, here is my handle, here is my spout"
some have fancy stitches decorating them also.........can't see it to well in the bottom left photo.........but they look wonderful
All the fancy writing was done by Bonnie on her machine............2 beautiful special tea towels for me..........my kitchen is blue and creamy yellow so just perfect............the bottom one is just so delicate...........

full of needles...........what a cool gift............Bonnie had some of these in her shop..........she is trying to find some more for me..........
and the final tea goodness.............fancy tea flavours and a tea notepad.............thanks heaps Bonnie I LOVE it all.............

Well you can tell I have had not a lot to do this week with my sore foot with all these posts but a girls got to have something to do.............I have several more posts nearly ready to go........

I have been busting to get one of the sewing caddies made from GDITC............Rosalie's project..........but as I will be too slow to get it stitched (and to many stitcheries to finish too) I decided to make it up out of some other fabric............do you think blue chooky fabric will suit...
......I have not shown this I think but it was a gift from Colleen - thanks Colleen I love it.......
.....anyway back to the subject.........I had a blond moment and stitched the ends together wrong..........it was perfect just wouldn't turn out the right way.............yep well I missed the bit where I was supposed to turn it thru the right way then join the ends..............lol...........and I will not tell you how long it took me to work this out but...................I did...........
and then I learnt my new skill..........we had to attach the bottom to the top with ladder stitch............never done this before so off to the net and googling "ladder stitch"........yep I can do that..........you just can't see where I have joined the pieces - beautiful and this is the first time I have used this stitch..........I am sold on ladder stitch and will be using it heaps more..........
the other thing is you are supposed to put template plastic in the bottom well I had some old xrays from my nan and I cut one of those up and put into the base perfect.............
Here it is all done.............the quick version of Rosalie Quinlan's Welcome Friends Project Caddy............love it........will be making lots more thanks Rosalie..........
If you are interested in the patterns for this project Rosie said they will be available about 20th June

Stephanie at Loft Creations organised a swap "Time for Tea" this is what I sent my swap partner Bonnie of Calamity Janes Cottage.............close up..........
The tea cup stack is printed..........I am not that good (to applique it all ).........but I just loved this fabric and still have some left over so will make something up for myself............the fabric was my inspiration and then I made up the rest of the design..........you can see the rest of the parcel I sent here.............

found this rose in the garden when taking the pics.........seemed to fit the theme..........it is called "Raspberry Ice"

Stop all the SSCS talk.............
I have a huge announcement.................this afternoon I did some free motion quilting (hope that is what it is called)............I decided to have a go can't be that hard...........I have been putting it off for months and months and months............I had brought a darning foot as I needed that but was tooo scared.............
So I made myself a sewing mat............figured I could cover it up if bad by the machine............well prepare yourself...........here is the mat.....(fabric Autumn Journey).....(still to bind but I was too excited)

what about this....................maybe I should have had a few wines first..........you know just to relax a little..........it was fun.........definitely need some more practise.....I would sort of get into a pattern then loose it...........
....but do you have any tips to get it a bit smoother.....
We just keep getting more and more storms.............more days stormy then not........this is yesterday.........most crops in the area have had 3-8 inches of rain in the last 10 days...............gone from great to major disaster..........the mozzies came out yesterday afternoon and I am sure they are the size of elephants and they are everywhere............bring on the insect repellant I say even to hang a load of washing out..........they are REALLY BAD........
and just a little while ago we had this storm............distrupted my post while I went to check where the rain was coming in and we ended up with a gutter leaking in one of the rooms...........bugger............1/2 an inch in 15 mins........
Then there was good mail today...........was wondering if the mail men would come with the rain last night but he did thankfully.........with this little parcel from Cheryl G...........

Finally I have caught up with my bloglines............it has said "0 new posts".............woo hoo...........not seen that since late Sept when things went pear shape.....
......I sent a few parcels off a few weeks ago but not heard if they have arrived............hope they get there soon.........one was my polkadot and ric rac swap..........not that I have received a parcel there either..............maybe I have been forgotten............
