Cracking sunset here on Thursday..................
Trying to get a few different shots............

last night I decided to do a  Friday night Chookshed zoom...........
I worked on my Chapel street blocks.......another 46 to add to the pile..........
probably should do a count now and see how many blocks I have cut so far...........
need to cut some more B&W pieces as I have another pile of fabric cut that needs the BW attached........
Had a great roll up..........there were more then here.........
but I missed taking a photo then.......
opps found the missing photo.......
Another couple from Thursday evening..........
playing with grasses again.........
Yes I know this flower is a bad weed but it looks so cheery........
And we all need a bit of cheer........

Playing catch up........

The upside of family being your shearer is you know them very well.........the down side is when they play hairdresser with my pets......Bridget is sporting a "new do".........this happened just before we went away............but I didn't have a good pic so took this one last week.........

I was speechless when I saw her..........lol

Lucky they are coming back to shear more ewes so we can get this one tidied up...............lol

The keets are growing well..........heres a little video of them...............

We had some rain a few weeks ago and I forgot to show you some pics............but it was the best sight coming home to mostly full dams...............Especially my house one..........It waters the garden and I had cut right back on watering.........we were lining up a couple of dams to start desilting..........empty enough to start pulling the mud out of the bottom of the dam so that we could increase water capacity.............
It was so still so the mirror image was working well...........
Such a calm feeling in these photos.............
a hereford baby............
I cut these while we had a gathering of the Chookshed Stitchers on zoom...............some bits from Susan @ Susan's Sewing Patch
more blocks for Chapel Street.............
need to have a count up I think to see how many I do have..........
Playing the other afternoon I was trying to capture the sunset thru the grasses..........didn't quite get what I wanted but I really like this one..............
Ok that's it for me.............
Extra long weekend as tomorrow is ANZAC Day and I have taken Friday off.............
Lots to fit in but will try and find some sewing/zoom time somewhere........
Catch you later...........

feeding the soul........

I made the long weekend extra long and took Thursday off also...........
Friday was a public holiday for Australia Day..........
As it was going to a true summers day in my part of the world aka stinking hot I decided I wanted to zoom.........and make it a big day...........
Here we are at some stage during the day.......some of the girls holding up there Scrub Stitchin' bags or January Chookshed Challenge project...........
I started at 6am and finished at 8.30pm
32 wonderful people popped in and out all day.........The most we had on at once was 18 people........we also welcomed a couple of new girls............Maggie and Tazzie.......on the sidebar........Tilly I hope you can get on again next time with things working right.........
My baby Willy Wagtails that I have been following left the nest early in the morning on Thursday and this is how I found them Friday morning...........they still are not flying much but I am thrilled to say they survived the heat of the Thursday Friday 42-43 (108-110F)......I saw them all this morning.......they just grow so fast........they will be flitting around the garden in no time..........
19 blocks completed for "They all add up" so that means the 36 required blocks were done.........
I laid it out on the design wall and was at a stand still when most of you left trying to decide what to do in the rows..............but when we were down to 4 -5 people Jindi's Cottage asked what was going on (before as she was listening but busy away from the camera)
at this point I had thrown all options down and given up but as I started to explain it again and show some options I came up with another option that we had not discussed earlier and it works and I started sewing it again...........and no it does not require me to unpick 18 blocks..........thanks to whoever suggested that..........LOL.......the top is well over 1/2 together now..........
I then moved onto the Moda Love mini quilt..............some bits are missing..........I did a bit more on this on Saturday also.........
Sunset at the end of Australia Day............I do get some lovely sunsets...........
Yesterday my friend Sue came down to sew.........we had a couple more coming but due to family emergencies they had to cancel last minute.......
We had another visitor that was not welcome in side but cool to see just less then a metre away thru the window.............my resident Blue Tongue lizard...........he only scares me occasionally.........he lives in the garden...........he's harmless.......sadly I didn't capture him with his blue tongue poking out..........
anyway after 2 wonderful days of sewing my soul feels replenished...........
Last night was cool enough to sleep without the air con which was lovely............and what a stunning start to the day............
hope you have all refueled your soul with something good this weekend......
Catch you later.........

Gardening.....

OMG girls 3 posts in 3 days........world record........
The weekend has been relaxing and busy at times........no visitors......couldn't go away as we have a heifer down that we are lifting........so it's been quiet....
I have needed some quiet time.....
Yesterday we started some gardening....its been terrible.......lost heaps during the drought that was never going to end.....its broken me......my love of gardening has been severely damaged.......
Finally i felt a little inspired to try and tame the garden......working full time in town now days hasn't helped either and a few times the weeds have gotten away...its amazing what you can fit even even when it's flat out here...but when your gone all day it can't happen....but as I'm trying to bring some control to my life I know I always feel better if the lawns are mown and nice even if the house is a mess.......so it's back to trying to get control.........lots of dead trees and bushes need to be removed.......even just to get that done is a big effort........but cutting back some hedges etc and making them tidier was a good start along with whipper snipping and mowing.........more to whipper snip today and all the dead things to remove still but I feel better already......

For the first time in a long time I caught up in blog reading.......some was skimmed and I didn't comment as much as usual but I got thru it........I just couldn't hit "mark all as read"
Sunset yesterday.....
beautiful....
Catch you later.....
