Post 162: Mother's Day Card

Hi friends :)

I decided to experiment with a totally new technique for me "chalkboard technique". It was fun and I'd like to play around more with it and hope to get better at it :) for now I'd like to share a card created using this technique.

Synopsis of the Process:

Applied versamark ink through the Mudra Rose stencil onto some black cardstock and then heat embossed it in white. Wanted to it be rough looking so didn't use the emboss buddy. Then applied some picket fence distress ink on top of the card panel. Further, distressed the edges of the panel and applied some versamark ink on the edges and heat embossed the edges in pink. Then roughly tore some black cardstock to create strips and heat embossed the words from the Mudra brushed alphas stamp set on them. Then inked the edges of the strips in versamark and embossed them in pink. Then rubbed some picket fence distress ink on the sentiment strips. After that applied a little distress ink- black soot to the card panel to make the background a little dull and then stuck it to a distressed mat and then adhered these to the card base. Then stuck the sentiment strips to the card panel with foam tape. For added interest and dimension added some thread around the sentiment and sequins to embellish the card.

List of Supplies:

Mudra Stencil- Rose
Mudra Stamp- Brushed Alphas
Mudra Sequins- Candy Pink and Harvest Mix
White Thread
Black and White Cardstock 250 gsm
Versamark Watermark Mini Inkpad
Zing Opaque White Embossing Powder
Ranger's Heat Tool
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Distress Inkpad- Picket fence and black soot
Scentz Embossing Powder- Pink
Double Sided Foam Tape
Tim Holtz Distress Tool

Here are a couple of Pictures of the Card:

Post 159: CAS Mother's Day Card

Hi Friends :)

Mother's day is soon approaching so I thought I would make a Cute CAS Mother's Day Card for my mom :) This is an A2 size top folding card.

Synopsis of the Process:

First I stamped the giraffe on Canson watercolor paper and water colored it with zig markers and an aqua brush. Then fussy cut the image. The card panel is a wonky stitch rectangle die cut of water color paper. I created some ground and shadow of the Giraffe with zigs and then stamped some flowers and colored them with zigs, then drew on some stalks with a black marker and also added little leaves with the zigs. Adhered the giraffe to the card panel and then stamped the sentiment. Then stamped a heart near the flowers. In the end, adhered the card panel to the card base.

List of Supplies:

Winnie & Walter Stamp- Welcome to the Family with Evelin T Designs
Winnie & Walter Stamp- The Big, the Bold and the Happy
Winnie & Walter Stamp- Lola's Bouquet with Joni Andaya

Brustro Fine tip Marker
