Process:

I created a collage of vintage elements like old book papers, gift tags, doilies, vintage washi tape, lace, charms, burlap, thread & Tim Holtz paper dolls on the envelopes. Then applied white gesso on some areas & light paste through AB Studio Stencils 3 and 61. Added color using Lindy's Sprays- Cattail Copper Brown Shimmer Spray, Incandescent Copper Vintage Spray, Mission Bells Brown Shimmer Spray, Alpine Ice Rose Shimmer Spray, Bells of Ireland Green Shimmer Spray & Lucky Shamrock Green Shimmer Spray. Then did background stamping using archival inks, finnabair stamps & Dylusions background stamps. Created a hand drawn border & some ink splatter. Outlined the stenciled patterns with a black fine liner. Did background stenciling with AB Studio Stencils 22 and 36 using a pencil (to add more darkness). For texture, added art stones mixed with soft matte gel. For the sentiments, added Tim Holtz chit chat stickers & doodled with a white gel pen as a finishing touch.

I am playing along with the following challenges:

PaperArtsy Topic 11: Enshrined (will be keeping some old family photographs in these altered envelopes)

Thanks for your precious time :)

Post 256: Thanks Card

Hi friends :)

How are you this Sunday afternoon? I'm still not fully awake :p even though I have been up for quite some time. Feeling tired and there is nothing I would like better than to get back to bed and just sleep for a couple of days and wake up all refreshed!! So I thought I would share a card on my blog :) This is one of the cards I made while Guest Designing for CrafTreat Stencils, you can check out the whole post here.

I really love the design of the mandala stencil so I've just spread some modelling paste through the stencil onto the Kraft card panel which was later distressed to give a vintage look. I kept the design simple so that the focus was on the mandala design. I love the color combo of kraft with white, its really pretty. I added a bit of jute twine as an embellishment to keep with the simple look. In the end, I added a few dots to the design with white acrylic paint to accentuate the mandala design.

List of Supplies:

Craftreat Mandala Stencil
Cutplorations Thanks Word Die
Kraft and White Cardstock 250 gsm
Jute Twine
Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue
Prima Marketing Modelling Paste
Palette Knife
White Acrylic Paint
Brushes

Here are a couple of photos of the card:

Post 154: Spring Themed Hello Card

Hi friends :)

Last night I was making a card and tried out new techniques and supplies for it :) It is the first time I have made something like this and I like the added interest all the details provide. I think I will do it again. This is a A2 size landscape style card. This card is spring inspired and has two sentiments. One is stamped and reads "Flowers can't solve all problems but its a great place to start." and the second is a die cut "Hello".

Synopsis of the Process:

1. Stamped the sentiment, flowers and leaves onto the card panel using a new Concord and 9th stamp (mixed and matched different ink colors). Then added details like stripes and dots to some of the flowers by doing the "stamp kissing" technique. Used the leaves from the Winnie and Walter- A tree for all seasons stamp set for the stamp kissing technique. Then added white dots with a white gel pen and white highlights and shading with a color pencil.

2. Then this card panel was die cut with nesting x stitched rectangle dies. Then I die cut the word hello from the smallest rectangle panel using a sizzix die and saved all the small negatives. Now the biggest rectangle was adhered to an A2 card base with liquid glue then the second smaller rectangle was mounted on top with foam tape and then the word hello along with the negatives were inserted back into the recess and stuck down below. So I was playing with different depths. Some areas on the card design are lifted and some are pushed down. Small pieces of foam tape were adhered to the lil flaps over hanging so they got strength.

3. In the end, few enamel dots and a butterfly sequin was added to complete the spring inspired card.

List of Supplies:

1. Concord and 9th Stamp- You're my Person
2. Winnie & Walter Stamp- A tree for all seasons
