Post 421: Inspiration for Craft Stamper Magazine's TIMI Challenge- April

Hi friends!!

Craft Stamper Magazine's Take it Make it Challenge is in full swing. It is an ANYTHING GOES stamping challenge, so please do join in with your lovely entries for a chance to win beautiful prizes and also a chance to be published in the magazine & be a Guest Designer!!

For today's Inspiration Post at Craft Stamper, I made a motivational card :) To visit & see all the beautiful projects, the DT made for you, please click HERE. I love meaningful quotes. I really like the quote used here, "Don't Let The Rain Dull Your Sparkle". For this card, I used a lot of supplies I hadn't used before, like Catherine Pooler Inks, a couple of new Visible Image stamps & a Prima stencil. I always like it when I'm able to use never-before-used-supplies.

For the card, I used ink smooshing to create an organic looking background and then did background stenciling & stamping. Then stamped the image & sentiment, created black ink splatter, distressed the edges of the panel, foam mounted it on the black mat & finally adhered this to the white card base (4.5 by 5.75 inches)

Here are a few photos of the card:

Supplies Used:

Visible Image Stamps- Sparkle in the Rain & Jazz it Up
Prima Salvage District Stencil- Clocks
Catherine Pooler Inkpads- Lime Rickey, Aquatini & Something Borrowed
Ranger's Distress Inkpad- Black Soot
Winnie & Walter Essentials- Audrey Cutaways
Versafine Onyx Black Mini Inkpad
Black and White cardstock
Canson Watercolor Paper
3D Foam Tape
Tombow Mono Multi Glue

To participate in the challenge, all the details can be found HERE.

Thanks a lot for your precious time!

Post 417 : Mixed Media Art Journal Spread- Be You

Hi friends!!

Hope you are having a pleasant Saturday. Wishing a Happy Easter to all my friends who celebrate it.

Today, I'd like to share a Mixed Media Art Journal Spread- Be You. Yesterday, I finally had some time to play with some supplies. I tried out a new stencil, "cells" by Maremismallart. Its lovely & gives a great textured look.  I was inspired by a couple of challenges & wanted to play along after a long time. The More than Words Challenge is about the word "Comfortable" & for me, being comfortable means being yourself, being comfortable in your own skin & to just be your own self without any pretension or facade. Hence, I chose the title as "Be You" The color scheme here is also inspired by the MTW challenge. I used Lindy's color of the month, Hi Maintenance Magenta Shimmer Spray, for all the coloring. Also, added a little black, Screamin' Banshee Black Shimmer Spray, for contrast.  For priming the surface of the book pages, I used Prima's Heavy White Gesso, for texture I added Prima's Modelling paste through the cells stencil, also added black thread. Did background stamping with Archival inks & Ranger stamps. For the focal element & layering, I used bits & pieces from my stash, Tim Holtz chit chat stickers, pattern papers, burlap, a few sequins, die cuts, fabric flowers, threads, twine & a bit of crochet lace my mom made. In the end, distressed the edges of the pages & created ink splatter.

Here are some photos of the Art Journal Spread:

Post 324: CAS Card- You're Fantastic...

Hi friends!

I'd like to share a Clean and Simple Card. This is a standard A2 sized top folding card. I masked off the card front and did ink blending with a few colors of Distress Oxide inks (Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Worn Lipstick & Peacock Feathers) and then adhered black die cuts from the Amazing Adjectives Word Die Set from Verve stamps and then stamped the "you're " from the Lawn Fawn Best Pun Ever stamp. Added a thin black strip of cardstock at the top and a bit of washi tape to balance the design. In the end, added little dots as pointers using black enamel accents.

Here are a couple of photos of the card:

Post 283: Mixed Media Card (Live Life in Full)

Hi folks!

I would like to share a Mixed Media Card I created stretching the supplies from my personal stash. This was featured in a Guest Design Post, all the details can be found here. This is a dimensional vintage card. For this, I did stenciling with modeling paste to create texture. Some of the layers have background stamping using Mudra Stamps. White Gesso was used to prep the base and color was added using Lindy's sprays (Sassy Sapphire, Tibetan Poppy Teal & Cattail Copper Brown) - those were the blues and brown in my stash, distress ink and gelatos. Flowers, old book pages, mdf cutouts, threads and pollens were added for embellishment & layers.

Post 279: Mixed Media Layout- Peace

Hi folks!

I'm sharing a Mixed Media Layout titled Peace. This was made with some supplies from my personal stash and I tried to stretch my stamps in such a way that they could be used in a mixed media styled project. This project was featured in a Guest Design Post on the 27th of Sept., all the details are here

I wanted to create a Mixed Media Layout with a calm forest feel and hence, have used a green color palette. Have done background stenciling with archival ink and a sponge and then stamped over top with multiple stamps in various shades of green. Have used burlap, corrugated cardstock, die cuts, flowers & gauze for creating dimension and interest. The title #peace is stamped using the Mudra brushed alphas set.

List of Supplies:

Prima Heavy White Gesso
White Cardstock
Flowers
Corrugated Cardboard
Old Book Pages
Mudra Stamps- Brushes Alphas, Leaves, Floral Silhouette, Old Script
Mudra Doodle Cluster stencil
Mudra Neon Green sequins
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
DCWV Autumn Cardstock
Cutplorations Flutter Zen 1 Layering Die
Prima Crochet Doily Die
Prima Forest Leaves Die
Archival Ink- Fern Green & Emerald Green

Here is a photo of the layout:

I am playing along with the following challenges:

RCS Challenge #5- Moodboard (I was inspired by the leaves, wood and green & brown colored hues from the moodboard)

Mixed Media Place September Challenge (I was inspired by the forest, woods and the browns in the photo)

Rubber Dance Theme Challenge- Fav. Stamp (I've used the Mudra Leaves stamp which is one of my favorites. Used it to stamp the leaves in the background and also the sentiment, "enjoy the little things in life")

Post 278: Mother's Day Card (bird nest)

Hi peeps :)

I'd like to share a card today. This was made for a Guest Design Post using Stencils, all the details are here. For this Mother's Day Card, I started by blending some peacock feathers and broken china distress oxide inks onto the card panel. Then I sprayed on lots of water and dabbed it off with tissues. This left me with a beautiful and soft background. Then I sponged on distress inks and distress oxide inks through the stencil to create the bird nest and the bird. I wanted the bird to have a softer look so I went over the stenciled pattern with an aqua brush so it looked like I had painted her in. Then the eggs were added by applying some heavy white gesso with a palette knife. In the end, added a few details with white acrylic paint and embellished the card with sequins.

Supplies Used:
Neat & Tangled Stamp- Gardenia Blooms Journaling Card
Cutplorations - Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Die
CrafTreat Layered Stencil- Bird Nest
Versafine Onyx Black Mini Inkpad
Distress Oxide Inkpad- Peacock Feathers, Broken China
Distress Inkpad- Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio
Aqua Brush
Sequins
White Acrylic Paint
Tombow Mono Multi Glue
Black Cardstock 250 gsm
Canson Watercolor Paper
