Post 462: Floral Birthday Card (Inspiration for Craft Stamper Magazine's Take It Make It Challenge- August,2018)

Hi friends!!
Hope you are well.

Craft Stamper Magazine's Take It Make It Challenge for August is live. It is an anything goes stamping challenge with beautiful prizes on offer and you could win the chance to Guest Design & be published in the magazine, so please read the rules and do link up your gorgeous creations :) To visit the Craft Stamper blog, please click HERE.

For the inspiration, I made a floral card with a newly acquired stamp in my stash. Kassa's Bloom (Item- 14014) by Stampotique Originals Rubber Stamps. It was stamped three times onto a panel of Canson Watercolor Paper using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. The sentiment is from Mudra Craft Stamps- Purely Sentiments Labelled. I did watercoloring using zig clean color real brush markers and created a few splatters of white and black ink, then darkened the edges of the panel with Black Soot Distress Ink and foam mounted it on a 5 by 7 inch black card base. In the end, added a few dots with a white gel pen.

Here are some photos of the card:

Post 320: Sparkly Birthday Card

Hi friends!

I'd like to share a Sparkly Birthday Card I made inspired by the Craftyscrappers Challenge. For the sparkle I have added gold foil and gold glitter paper.

I used foil for the first time. Basically used the Craftyscrappers Color Splash Stencil and added tacky glue through it and then the gold foil. It didn't transfer completely but I really like the splashy gold effect it gave :) then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Craftyscrappers Doodly Blooms stamp all over the panel as well as a few pink hearts from the Beary Special Day stamp. I really like that cute baby image. My niece helped me by coloring it in using Zigs :) it was so much fun crafting with her. Then added the arrow stencil design on the pink heart and layered up everything. In the end, we added 3 tiny half pearls to the baby's crown.

Supplies Used:

Craftyscrapper Fun Foils- Glitzy Gold
Craftyscrappers Stamps- Baby Prince & Princess, Doodly Blooms & Beary Special Day
Craftyscrappers Stencils- The Arrow & Color Splash
Gina Marie Stitched Rectangles Die
Sizzix heart die
White and Baby Pink Cardstock
3d Foam Tape
Gold Glitter Paper
Tacky Glue
Archival Inkpad - Jet Black
Distress Oxide Inkpad- Worn Lipstick
Snippet of watercolor paper (stamped the baby on it) and pink cardstock (die cut the heart)
Ranger blending tool and foams
Half Pearls

Here are a few photos of the card:

The foiling is better visible at this angle

Post 308: CAS Diwali Card (peacock)

Hi friends!

I'd like to share a Clean & Simple Diwali Card. This was part of my DT work for Peekaboo Designs. All the details can be found here. Diwali is the festival of lights :) and in India it is celebrated with a lot of pomp and show. We spend time with our loved ones and family, prepare special sweets and give gifts to each other.

Process:

1. Die cut white cardstock using the Scalloped Circle die.
2. Stamped the beautiful image from the new Madhubani Stamp onto Canson watercolor paper. Then watercolored it using zig markers & an aqua brush and then fussy cut it.
3. Stamped the sentiment from the Diwali Greetings stamp onto a strip of cardstock & then matted it with the pretty new Rainbow Hues Washi Tape.
4. Assembled the card by adhering the 2 scalloped circle die cuts to a black card base. Then adhered the sentiment and foam mounted the image. In the end, added a few white dots with a white gel pen.

Here are a couple of photos of the card:

I am playing along with the following challenges:

Post 297: CAS Diwali Card

Hi friends :)

I'd like to share a Clean & Simple Diwali Card today.
I've inked the background with picket fence distress ink, masking off at a slant, then on a square die cut of kraft cardstock, used an Itsy Bitsy Stencil to ink the lotus using Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide, added a few details to it with colored pencils and a white gel pen. Then stamped on the om and shree (which are religious symbols of good luck and blessings). Then stamped on the Happy Diwali from a Mudra stamp onto some vellum, tore it and adhered it to the card. Embellished the card with a few dew drops.

Post 237: CAS Diwali Card

Hi Friends :)

The weekend is here :) woo hoo!! The weather here is really quite stifling, being very hot and humid so we will all stay indoors and since I am still recovering from the flu, no plans. What about you? Anything exciting happening with you? I'm sorry I haven't been posting too often on the blog in the past couple of weeks, not being well really doesn't agree with me. Hopefully, another week and the bug will be gone for good (fingers crossed).

I'd like to share a Clean and Simple Card I made a few days back but did not share online. This is 5 by 7 inches in size and is a festival card for Diwali. It is the festival of lights here in India and is one of the biggest events in our year since it is the time for family, food, shopping and gifts. The elephant image you see here is of our god, Lord Ganesha. He is the bringer of good luck and Hindus worship him to bring prosperity and happiness at the beginning of anything like buying a new house or car etc.

Here is a photo of the card:

Procedure:

1. Die cut white cardstock using the oval die and then using a round blending tool and foams, sponged distress oxide around the edges of the die cut to get an ombre look. (Tip: Use a light touch and use circular motions)
2. Taped down the oval die cut with some micropore tape/masking tape and then taped down the stencil on top so that it does not shift. Then sponged on the 3 distress oxide inks through the design. Started with the lightest color.
3. Stamped the sentiment using the red distress oxide ink and then adhered the die cut to the card base. In the end, added  gold sequins for a touch of bling.

List of Supplies:

Little Birdie Stencil (Itsy Bitsy)- Ganesha with words
Mudra Craft Stamp Set- Crackers
Ranger’s Distress Oxide Inkpads- Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade & Fired Brick
Die Cuts & More Die- Double Stitched Ovals Die
Ranger’s Round Blending tool and foams
Mudra Sequins- Gold
Iris White Cardstock 250 gsm
Acrylic Block
Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue

I am playing along with the following challenges:

CAS on Friday #113- Exotic (Diwali Card for a Hindu Festival Celebrated in India)

Thanks for your time :)

Post 226: Mixed Media Layout- Friends

Hi folks!

How are you doing ?
Today, I'd like to share a Mixed Media Layout titled Friends.
This is 12 by 12 inches in size.
I was inspired by the photo of the 2 little ones walking hand and hand and decided to make a layout with it. It signifies friendship and a beautiful happy day spent with friends.
There are mostly butterflies and flowers on this layout with the color scheme: white, black and lavender.
The base is white cardstock on which I have done watercoloring with gansai tambi colors and stencil work with distress oxides.
Then, did some background stamping for interest.
Further, added stamped (on canson watercolor paper), watercolored and fussy cut images in layers.
I've tried to create texture with multiple layers and patterns.
In the end, few splatters were created with watered down white gesso and inks.
I've used the following Altenew stamps here: Bamboo Rose, Floral Frame and Fresh Freesia

Here are a few photographs of the layout:

2. Altenew Sketch Challenge #3 (I was inspired by the sketch)
