Fishmonkeyman - Gryst
FISHMONKEYMAN
Gryst
1991 Warner Music UK Ltd.
Notes :
Fishmonkeyman were great indie rock band from Liverpool, formed in 1989, original band members were Paul Denheyer (vocals & guitar), Carl Henry (drums), Jason Orr (bass & vocals) and Allan Sadler (guitar).
After gigging around the north-west of England, they were discovered by Richard Skinner of BBC Radio 1 in 1989 and promptly recorded their first session. Soon after, they released a 12" EP on their own Furious Fish Records and success followed with 'If I've Told You Once' making Record Of The Week in NME & Melody Maker and getting the band regular airplay on radio and television. Warners signed them and they toured and released several successful EPs before splitting in 1991.
Paul put another line-up together in 1992 and several independent releases followed with constant touring until 1997 when Fishmonkeyman finally stopped performing.
''Gryst'' is unreleased debut album they recorded in 1991 for Warner Music . They recorded second album in 1997 ''This Is Where You Are'', which also stayed unreleased until 2009 when both albums were finally released as digital downloads. Both albums were produced by Pat Collier.

Cheers Ricky. I had the 12 of If I Told You Once, might still be around somewhere. Sad to say it would have come from the bargain bin of one particular shop, like a great deal of the bands on here.
thank you, I searched this lost lp for many years! I miss even the other album...meanwhile can you, please, re up their three singles (The World Revolves Around You, Breathing & Sunshine Down)whose links are dead? Thank you again.
The drummer Carl has been a member of Half Man Half Biscuit for the past 20 odd years!
Hi, really enjoying the blog. Any chance you could re-up this album please?
Ricky, any chance of a reupload on this great band. Going back and reviewing your posts and some have links to zippyshare, which I think is now defunct,
If not, it's all good, thanks for your awesome blog.
