OCEAN SNOW et al

MY HOMAGE TO OUR FIRST SNOWFALL THIS YEAR

I had begun this little piece last year and then--it got put in my drawer...and
pushed aside for some reason...

I just really love this little Japanese print of houses in the snowy hills...
we live on a  cul-de-sac hill just above the ocean..a short 5 minute walk away...
so this just seemed to come together....

Again, so like me---;000, I don't know where this is going...but for now, it's
just a little remembrance....
*****************************************************
Here are a few more little squares that morphed into rectangles;)))

And these are ready to sew...↓↓↓

that iris blue print is a
favorite of mine....

As you can see they are getting wonkier and more wonkified..;)))
BUT
I have, at least,  made a dent here:

Now it's just bits and bobs left of this and that...so these may become
border strips for some future project....we'll see.
******************************************
AND, here is the start of a new wool project:
I ironed a stabilizer onto the cotton background to help support the coming
woolen fuse-appliqued pieces...

I think I am back in the "sewing mode",,, finally....:))))

  1. I think you may have some blocks going the wrong direction. Bottom right red block has the far left centre block diagonal going the wrong way.

  2. I also couldn't work out the pattern layout in the green /red block on the left. Are some 4 patches turned the wrong way too.

  3. REALLY like that little snow piece -- maybe it already is what it needs to be? And the four patches are marvelous - scrappy and all mixed together - what could be better!

  4. I love that little Japanese snow/house print. Do you have the name of designer or manufacturer so I can look it up? I've been searching for a print like this for awhile now.

  7. Pretty snow fabric.....it will help me feel cool in all the heat and bushfires around us at present. Your blocks are progressing well.

  8. Your winter wonderland is lovely. And I love the little squares you have going... especially the red and green one.
Glad you got your mojo back. Inspirational. Maybe I'll catch some of that. I've got some sister sewing I took on and need to make some quilted bowls first.

  12. Hi Julierose! Yay to being back in the saddle again. And your scrap project is really coming along nicely. Wasn't it fun stitching some of those pieces together, recalling the first/second time they were used? That is a favorite part of mine when using scraps. Although sometimes I say to myself, I don't recall seeing this fabric ever before! HAHA! ~smile~ Roseanne
