She is preparing for her Japanese Tea Ceremony (back)
I just love these tea urns and tea pots.....↕↕↕↕↕
This fabric seemed so perfect for the backing...

It is SUPER windy here this morning --
I am not a big fan of that constant sound...
So far, the highest gust up here at
The House on the Hill
was 22 mph...
Steady at 10-15 though...

Here ↡↡↡↡ is my
light blue box for RSC April
Along with some long paper strips from an old phone book..
I wonder what will emerge from these this month?
*********************************
And here are my first three 9" blocks for the KING SIZED
Courthouse Steps bed quilt--
[Sorry for the darkish pix--very gray and cloudy here today...]
Truth be told
I began just sewing them willy-nilly together and they all
came out differing sizes (DUH!!)
So I have begun finishing those off onto the 9"
muslin squares adding strips
as needed...
a true Improv
I am finding it hard to find old-fashioned or
vintage looking florals and tone on tone
fabrics for this project...but,
I think some tone on tone batiks look okay though...
{See the last white-ish strips above}
Anyway--fun figuring out for sure...

Your Kimmi looks wonderful - and such absolutely perfect fabric for the backing too. Love this one! And I'm astounded that you're making 9" blocks for a king-sized quilt. Wow. That's dedication!
ReplyDeleteOh all that wonderful texture you created!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's some nice hand quilting! I'm going to rummage around for light blue today.
ReplyDeleteYour Kimmi block is so pretty and so much stitching.
ReplyDeleteYour Kimmie and courthouse steps projects are looking good. Can't wait to see what you do with RSC's light blue assignment this month.
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I saw the tea pot fabric, I thought how interesting it is and I see you are enamored with it too. Was there a trick to the circle quilting as far as marking or did you just randomly stitch round and round?
ReplyDeleteKimmi is gorgeous! I have that teapot fabric on the back of a set of placemats, it's just a great fabric that makes the mats reversible. King size sounds beyond my attention span these days, lol.
ReplyDeleteMaru-Gata Kimmi is fabulous! That quilting is amazing, so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteKimmi and tea! so cute and your hand quilting is amazing.
ReplyDeleteLight, bright blue for RSC this month, great and you're getting organized already.
I'll have to hustle and see what I can find.
Love your courthouse steps. You will be surprised what you can find in stash if you look hard enough. Will wave after I wash my hands.lol
