Minidio, Matchbox, Esci, Academy, 1:72

Today I will show you an old Mini-Dio. The figure is from Esci, the Dingo from Matchbox and the "Kettenkrad" from Academy. I made it three years ago. The reason was first: I was to lazy to clean a little rubber bucket with plaster I used befor. Next day I had this round piece of plaster. As a modeller, nothing is wasted and I started to think about a usefull field of application. The second guess was that I didn`t know what use this figure can be because of the odd pose. That´s the result.
The Painting of the figure is not the best one to my standards today. But three years ago I was very satisfied ;-)
The short Story:
A German Soldier on Patrol finds this Dingo in the Desert. The British Crew disappeared and the D.A.K. Man checks out the situation.

Today I will show a long term projekt. I started it 2 years ago and the last time I continued it was October 2009. It is a german fortified place in Africa. There will be a Anti Tank gun and an anti-air-gun and several vehicles. It was made with plaster, sand and wood-filler. The "Tobruk stand" was scratch build with ???? I don`t know the translation. It is somthing like modelling material and in contact with the air it gets hard. The Jeep is from the L.R.D.G. by Revell/Matchbox.

Heute ein paar Bilder von einem Langzeitprojekt, dass ich vor 2 Jahren begonnen habe und das nun schon wieder seit letztem Oktober auf Eis liegt. Eine Geschützstellung in Afrika. Das ganze besteht aus Gips und Modelliermasse auf Styropor sowie aus Holzspachtel. Den Tobrukstand habe ich auch aus Modelliermasse scratch gebaut. Es sollen eine Pak 40 und eine Flak sowie diverse Fahrzeuge und Figuren drauf. Der Jeep ist von Revell "L.R.D.G." und dient als Größenvergleich. Aber es ist noch viel zu tun....

Revell, Sd.Kfz. 124 "Wespe", 1:76

Today a few words about the picture in the header of this blog. The Sd.KfZ. 123 “Wespe” from Revell/Matchbox in 1:76. I wrote a feature about this kit for the online modelling magazine “modellversium” (Please follow the link in the German part). It`s only in german but you will find a few more pictures. I´ve made this little Diorama two years ago and it was the first one i`ve ever made. The Crew is from Preiser (Tank Crew and Panzergrenadiere) and the two figures outside the Wespe are from different Revell-Sets (Afrikakorps). The one with the signalling disc was converted. Before he hold a granate. The left arm was replaced. Unfortunately the figure was falling out of my hands and the new arm was broken. I tried to fix it but it is still visible. The Dio is an old picture frame filled with “Holzspachtelmasse” (I really have no idea what is the English translation for this – it`s something to fill gaps in wood and after drying it is as hard as stone).
