Sain tilauksen 40-vuotiskortista naiselle ja päätin käyttää siihen Altenew'n ihanaa Leaf Canopy -settiä. Embossasin lehdet kullalla ja väritin Altenew'n vesiväreillä. Korttipohjaan maskasin ja mustetin Distress Oxideilla tuon raidan, johon roiskin muutaman pisaran vettä, että sain sen vähän elävämmäksi. Kun roiskimisen makuun pääsin, roiskin vielä kultasuihkettakin korttipohjaan :D Lopuksi vielä FinnStamperin tekstileima ja Memory Boxin stansseilla numerot. Lehtioksat kiinnitin vain yläreunasta korttipohjaan niin, että alareuna jäi vähän koholle.

A friend of mine needed a birthday card for her female friend who's turning 40 and I made her this. I used the gorgeous 'Leaf Canopy' set by Altenew which I heat embossed in gold and watercoloured with Altenew watercolours. For the background, I masked the stripe and sponged it with Distress Oxide ink and added a few splatters of water to it to lift the ink. After that I added a few more splatters with gold spray to the background. I then stamped my sentiment ('Congratulations' in Finnish) and added the numbers (die cut with Memory Box dies). I attached the branches with strong tape so that the lower parts are free so they are loose from the background.

Mansikoita - Strawberries

Mansikka-aika parhaimmillaan, nyt niitä löytyy jo korteistakin! :D Nämä ihanat mansikat ovat Clearly Besottedin Sweet Berries -setistä, väritin ne Polychromoksilla. Taustan kehys on stanssattu My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja tekstileima on FinnStamperia. Taustalle raitapaperia ja koristeeksi muutama enamel dotsi.

I love strawberries so I had to get this gorgeous strawberry stamp by Clearly Besotted. Isn't it sweet? It's from the 'Sweet Berries' stamp set and I coloured it with my Polychromos pencils. I stamped my sentiment ('Congrats') on a strip of grey cardstock and die cut the frame with a My Favorite Things die. A bit of stripey paper for the background and some enamel dots to embellish the card. Sweet and simple! :)

Vuosi lähenee nopsaan loppuaan ja minulle tulee kiire! Nimittäin laittaa viimeiset joulukortit näytille vielä joulukuun aikana :D Tässä siis tulevat viimeiset ilman sen kummempaa järjestystä tai selitystä.

The last hours of 2017 are here and I'm in a hurry! In a hurry to show you the last of the Christmas cards I made for this year before 2018 gets here :D So here they are, in no order and without explanations (please just ask if you want to know something about them).

Kuusta koristelemassa - Decorating the tree

Tämä simppeli joulukortti rakentui Mama Elephantin Pix's Happy Holiday -setin leimoilla. Väritin leimakuvat taas Copiceilla ja stanssasin irti. Taustalle stanssasin ikkunan My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja sen taustalle laitoin kuviopaperia. Lopuksi vielä tekstileima ja jokunen pieni paljetti.

I used 'Pix's Happy Holiday' stamps and dies by Mama Elephant to make this Christmas card. I coloured Pix and the tree with my Copics and die cut them out. For the background, I die cut the window with a My Favorite Things die and adhered some patterned paper behind it. I stamped my sentiment on the panel and adhered some tiny sequins to the card.

Tonttu ja kuusi - An elf and a tree

Tähän joulukorttiin tuli käytettyä vanhaa mutta ihanaa Whiff of Joyn leimaa, jonka väritin Copiceilla ja stanssasin My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla. FinnStamperin tekstileiman leimasin niin ikään MFT:n stanssilla stanssattuun ympyrään, jonka keskelle laitoin napin. Taustalle vielä kuviopapereita ja kortti oli valmis.

I used an oldie but a cutie Whiff of Joy stamp for this Christmas card. I coloured it with my Copics and die cut the panel with a My Favorite Things die. I stamped my sentiment ('Christmas greetings' in Finnish) on a circle die cut with a MFT die and added a button in the middle. For the background I used some patterned papers.

Joulun kukka - Christmas flower

Joulu taitaa olla jo ohi, mutta joulukortteja riittää vielä blogattavaksi, joten jatketaan niillä vielä. Tämä taitaa olla viimeinen kortti Winnie & Walterin joulutähdellä, sekin Copiceilla väritetty. Leimasin nuo männyn oksat ja marjaoksat suoraan paneeliin ja siihen päälle kiinnitin irtileikatut kävyt, lehdet ja joulutähden. Lisäksi kullalla leimattuja pisteitä, muutama paljetti ja tekstileima ja koko paneelin kiinnitys korttipohjaan.

The Christmas might be over already, but I still have some Christmas cards to show you so I'll just continue with them. This is the last card I made with the poinsettia from Winnie & Walter, I coloured it with my Copics. I stamped the  pine branches and the twigs with berries straight to the white panel and then adhered the fussy cut parts (the cones, the leaves and the poinsettia) on it. I stamped a few dots with gold ink, added some sequins and stamped my sentiment ('Merry Christmas' in Finnish) before attaching the panel to the card blank.

Joulutähti - Poinsettia

Käytin tähän korttiin Winnie and Walterin ihanaa joulutähteä, jonka väritin Copiceilla valkoiseksi. Höysteeksi laitoin Simply Graphicin stansseilla stanssattuja koristeoksia. Taustalla MFT:n stanssilla stanssattu ympyrä, johon leimasin toivotukset, ja sen takana kuviopaperia.

The gorgeous poinsettia in this card comes from Winnie and Walter, I coloured it white with my Copics. I used Simply Graphic dies to die cut the little branches to go with the poinsettia. The circle in the background is die cut with a My Favorite Things die and the sentiment says 'Merry Christmas'. In the background I used some patterned paper.

Kranssi - Wreath

Joulukortteja on tullut tehtyä melkoinen pino, mutta bloggaamaan en ole niitä ehtinyt. Yritän nyt saada edes muutaman näytille ennen joulua... Tämän kortin tein Concord & 9th:n Magnolia Wreath -leimoilla ja -stansseilla. Musteet ovat Hero Artsin, stanssattu banneri Spellbindersin ja tekstileima FinnStamperin. Taustan paneeli on stanssattu MFT:n ommelreunastanssilla.

I've been so busy making Christmas cards that I haven't had the chance to blog them. I'll try and show you at least some before Christmas.. I made this one with the 'Magnolia Wreath' stamps and dies by Concord & 9th, I used some Hero Arts inks to stamp the pretty wreath and the berries. I die cut the red banner with a Spellbinders die and heat embossed the sentiment (it says 'Merry Christmas' in Finnish). I die cut the panel in the background with a MFT stitched edge die. Quick and easy! :)

Lumienkeli - Snow angel

Vaihteeksi joulukortti näytille. Käytin tähän lumienkeliä tekevää pupua Mama Elephantin Pix's Happy Holiday -setistä, väritin sen Copiceilla ja kiinnitin korttipohjaan. Valkoiseen paneeliin taas stanssasin lumienkelin muotoisen aukon ja asetin paneelin tarrapaloilla koholle - kuvasta ei ehkä ihan selvästi näy, mutta yritin saada sen näyttämään siltä, kuin pupu olisi oikeasti hangessa. Leimasin tekstileiman My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla stanssatulle bannerille ja kiinnitin niinikään tarrapaloilla. Lisäksi pikkuisen nyöriä ja jokunen enamel dots.

I have a Christmas card to show you today. I love this little bunny making a snow angel, it's from the Mama Elephant set called 'Pix's Happy Holiday'. I coloured her with my Copics and attached her to the card base. I then die cut the white panel with the coordinating die, this way it looks like Pix is actually in snow (or at least I hope so! ;) ). I stamped my sentiment ('Happy Christmas' in Finnish) on a banner that I die cut with a My Favorite Things die. I added a bit of twine and some enamel dots as embellishments.

Ystävälle - For a Friend

Tein tämän kortin My Favorite Thingsin värihaasteeseen ja CASEsin siinä itseäni :D malli on siis sama kuin tuossa edellisessä kortissä. Tässä kortissa käytin pieniä kukkasia My Favorite Thingsin Polynesian Paradise -setistä, väritin ne Copiceilla ja kiinnitin korttiin, nuo alemmat kohotarroilla. Taustalle stanssasin ikkunan My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja keskelle istutin palan kuviopaperia ja muutaman Nuvo Crystal Drops -tipan. Sitten vain tekstileima ja korttipohjaan kiinni.

I made this card for My Favorite Things' Colour Challenge #70 and decided to CASE myself in it :D the layout here is the same as in my previous card. For this card, I used the cute little flowers from the 'Polynesian Paradise' set by My Favorite Things and coloured them with my Copics. For the background I used the 'Rectangle Peek-a-Boo Window' die by MFT and added a piece of patterned paper to the middle. The sentiment says 'For a Friend' in Finnish and as embellishments there are some drops of Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Pionit - Peonies

Kukkakortti taas kerran ;) Ihastuin tähän Mama Elephantin Pretty Peonies -settiin ensinäkemältä ja minä kun en voi vastustaa kauniita kukkaleimasimia, niin setti löysi kodin luotani :) Tätä korttia varten maskasin nuo kukat ja lehden ja väritin ne Copiceilla. Paneelin stanssasin irti Simon Says Stampin ommelreunastansseilla ja kerrostin sen kartongille ja Lawn Fawnin paperille. Tekstileima on FinnStamperilta ja koristeina muutama paljetti.

I love floral stamps and as soon as I saw the 'Pretty Peonies' set by Mama Elephant I knew I would be giving a loving home to it ;)  For this card, I masked and stamped the flowers and leaves and coloured them with my Copics. I die cut the panel with Simon Says Stamp's stitched edge die and matted it onto some cardstock and then onto patterned paper by Lawn Fawn. The sentiment says 'Congrats' in Finnish. As embellishments, I added only some sequins.

Puut - Trees

Vanhin veljenpojistani täytti juuri 16, joten synttärikortille oli tarvetta. Ajattelin tällä kertaa tehdä hieman erilaisen kortin ja pähkäilin, että tällainen geometrinen voisi olla nuoren miehen mieleen. Stanssasin kartongista Simon Says Stampin ommelreunastanssilla suorakulmion ja embossasin siihen mustalla pari puuta Simonin One with Nature -setistä. Puut väritin Copiceilla ja koristeiksi lisäsin enamel dotseja. Tekstin embossasin vellumille. Sitten vain korttipohjaan kiinni ja kortti oli valmis.

My eldest nephew turned 16 and I needed to make him a birthday card. I wanted to make something a bit different and a bit more 'grown up' this time so I chose to use the gorgeous trees from the 'One with Nature' set by Simon Says Stamp. I heat embossed them in black on cardstock that I die cut with a Simon Says Stamp stitched edge die and coloured the trees with my Copics. I added some enamel dots as the only embellishments. I heat embossed my sentiment ('Congrats' in Finnish) on a piece of vellum and adhered it to the panel before attaching it onto my cardbase.

Ruusu ja tylliä - Rose and tulle

Jennifer McGuire teki joku aika sitten ikkunakortteja, joissa hän käytti asetaatin tai vastaavan tilalla tylliä. Se näytti sen verran kivalta, että halusin kokeilla itsekin. Stanssasin korttiin siis pyöreän aukon, johon kiinnitin valkoista tylliä. Aukon reunustin MFT:n piparkakkureunaisella stanssilla stanssatulla reunuksella. Tekstileiman leimasin Spellbindersin stanssilla stanssatulle bannerille ja leimakuvan sijaan käytin tuollaista Paper Smoochesin stanssilla stanssattua ruusua, jonka seuraksi laitoin noita ihania "kukkaoksia", jotka sain Patricialta (ihastuin niihin niin, että menin ja tilasin itselleni nuo stanssit myös... :) ). Paperi on Lili of the Valley'ä.

Some time ago Jennifer McGuire made a window card  in which she used tulle instead of acetate for the window. I thought it looked so nice that I wanted to  make one too. So I die cut a circle for the window and placed some tulle in it, I framed the window with a die cut made with MFT's die. I stamped my sentiment onto a banner die cut with a Spellbinders die. For the focal point I used a rose die cut with a Paper Smooches die and paired it with some gorgeous die cut twigs that my bloggy friend Patricia sent me (I fell in love with the twigs so much so that I went and bought the dies for myself... :) ). The patterned paper is by Lili of the Valley.

Magnoliaa - Magnolias

CAS-linjalla jatketaan :) Tein tämän Altenew'n maaliskuun haasteen innoittamana, otin siitä nuo värit (vaikka käytin niitä hieman haaleampina versioina) ja niiden järjestyksen ja koska kuvassa näytti olevan bileet menossa, niin synttärikorttihan tästä tuli. Leimasin ja maskasin vesivärikartongille Altenew'n Magnolias for Her -setin magnoliaa ja väritin ne Gansai Tambeilla ja lisäilin vähän vesiväriroiskeitakin. Teksti FinnStamperin leimalla ja sitten vain kerrostus kartongille ja korttipohjaan.

I'm going quite CAS again with this one I made for a couple of challenges. I was inspired by the Altenew March Inspiration Challenge and I took the colours and their order from the picture and as there seemed to be a celebration going on in the picture, I made this into a birthday card. I stamped and masked some magnolias into a row from the 'Magnolias for Her' set and coloured them with my Gansai Tambi watercolours. I also added a bit of shading around the flowers and some tiny splatters too. The sentiment say 'Many Congrats' in Finnish. I matted the panel onto some dark brown cardstock and then onto a cardbase.

Lehti - Leaf

Päätin koittaa tehdä niin CAS-kortin kuin ikinä pystyisin, ja eipä siihen paljoa tullutkaan... ;D Tein vesivärikartongista korttipohjan, johon leimasin My Favorite Thingsin Geometric Greenery -setin leimalla tuon lehden, jonka sitten väritin Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä. Tekstileimana käytin osaa FinnStamperin leimasta (kokonaisuudessaan siinä lukee Paljon Onnea, mutta jätin alkuosan pois). Ja siinäpä se, muuta kortissa ei olekaan!

I tried to go as CAS as I could with this card, and I think I managed it pretty well... at least there's no fuss in this card! ;D I folded my card base from a piece of watercolour cardstock and stamped one leaf from the 'Geometric Greenery' set by My Favorite Things which I then watercoloured with my Gansai Tambis. I thought the font on this sentiment would go pretty well together with the leaf so I paired them together (the sentiment says 'Congrats' in Finnish). And that's it, nothing else on this card! I made this card especially for the Less Is More challenge where the theme is 'leaves' - and only now I realise that there is only ONE leaf on my card and the theme word is in plural.... I hope this still qualifies!

Sieviä kukkasia - Sweet Flowers

Mama Elephantilla jatketaan. Tämä kukkanen on Butterfly Kisses -setistä, stanssasin sen irti ja väritin Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä. Sitaisin sen varten hieman nyöriä rusetille ja kiinnitin kukkasen kohotarroilla. Taustalle sievä doily ja KaiserCraftin kuviopaperia, tekstileima FinnStamperin. Tein tämän kortin kahteen haasteeseen, Time Out Challengesin sanahaasteeseen ja Simon Says Stampin Monday haasteeseen, jossa haettiin mieluisinta työkalua - minulla ne on Cuttlebug ja vesivärisivellin (vesivärit taitavat olla se kaikkein lempparein väritystapa minulla).

Another Mama Elephant card from me! This pretty flower comes from the set 'Butterfly Kisses'. I die cut it out and coloured it with my Gansai Tambi watercolours. I tied a little bow to its stem and attached the flower with foam adhesives so it's a bit raised. I added a sweet little doily behind it and  used patterned paper from a KaiserCraft pad. The sentiment says 'For a Friend' in Finnish. I made this card for two challenges. First there's an 'Inspired by Words' challenge over at Time Out Challenges and the saying we are to be inspired by is 'Friends are connected heart to heart, distance and time can't break them apart' - this is a card for a friend to celebrate "A Day of Friends" (that's the Finnish equivalent of Valentine's Day). The second challenge is Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge where they want us to use our favourite tool - I've actually used two here: my trusty Cuttlebug (I think I use die cutting on most of my cards) and my watercolour brush (watercolours are my favourite method of colouring).

Ystävälle - For a Friend

Ystävänpäiväkortteja on tullut tehtyä jokunen, tässä niistä ensimmäinen näytille. Leimakuva tässä on Mama Elephantin ihana Organic Blooms, jonka väritin Gansai Tambi -vesiväreillä ja stanssasin osittain irti. FinnStamperin tekstileimalla leimasin vellumille ja taustapaperiksi laitoin Simple Storiesin raitapaperia. Yhtään koristetta en saanut tähän laitettua, mutta tuo leimakuva itsessään on jo niin kaunis, että ehkä se ei koristeita kaipaakaan.

In Finland, Valentine's Day is actually called (roughly translated) A Day of Friends and so we send cards to our friends, not our significant others or love interests (I know, it's kind of odd but that's how it is..). So I've made a few cards that can be sent to friends to celebrate this day. For this card, I used the gorgeous stamp 'Organic Blooms' by Mama Elephant and I coloured it with my Gansai Tambi watercolours. I partially die cut it out using Simon Says Stamp's stitched edge die. I stamped my sentiment ('For a Friend' in Finnish) onto a strip of vellum. The background paper is by Simple Stories. I did not manage to use any embellishments for this card (I tried!) but I think that the stamp itself is so pretty that maybe it doesn't really need any extra embellishments.

Pupu ilmapalloineen - Bunny with a Balloon

Lili of the Valley -linja jatkuu! :) Tämä söpöläinen on Balloon Bunny ja väritin sen taas Distress Markereilla. Tekstileimana käytin FinnStamperin leimaa, josta jätin sanan "sinulle" pois (se ei mahtunut! :D ). Stanssasin paneelin Simon Says Stampin ommelreunastanssilla ja kiinnitin korttipohjaan. Lisäksi laitoin vain muutaman pisteen mustalla liquid pearlsillä. En ole itsekään ihan varma, olisiko tämä syntymäpäiväkortti vaiko vain "ihanaa päivää, tässä sulle ilmapallo ja muffari" -kortti, mutta aika näyttäköön :)

Here's yet another card done with a Lili of the Valley stamp :) This one is called 'Balloon Bunny' and I coloured it with my Distress Markers. The sentiment says something like 'have a lovely day' in Finnish. I die cut the panel with the image and the sentiment with Simon Says Stamp's stitched rectangles die and attached it to the card base. I only added a few drops of black liquid pearls to finish the card.

Joulukarhu - Christmas Bear

Inspiraatio tähän korttiin tuli Kristina Werneriltä. Taustan siis mustetin Distress Inkeillä ja suihkin hieman hopeaspray'ta päälle. DoodleFactoryn karhun väritin Copiceilla, leikkasin irti ja kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. Karhun tassujen alle FinnStamperin tekstileima ja muutama timantti sinne tänne ja siinäpä se.

I was inspired by these Kristina Werner cards and decided to make my own version of them. I sponged the circle with Distress Inks and added some silver spray to it. Then I coloured the DoodleFactory bear with my Copics, fussy cut him out and adhered to cardbase with some foam adhesives. To ground him, I placed my sentiment ('Happy Christmas' in Finnish) under his hind paws. Then I just added some sticky back rhinestones here and there for some extra bling.

Tämä kortti tuntuu olevan noiden kahden edellisen kortin yhdistelmä, hyvin olen pysynyt simppeli kukkakortti -linjalla... :D Eli tässä taas Penny Blackin Tiger Lily Copiceilla väritettynä ja irtileikattuna, taustan paperit on LOTV:ia. Banneri stanssattu My Favorite Thingsin stanssilla ja siihen leimattu FinnStamperin tekstileima. Lisänä vähän nyöriä ja peel-off-tarroilla numerot.

Another day, another flower card... It seems that I've been making a lot of flower cards recently, hope you're not getting bored with them... Anyways, I used Penny Black's Tiger Lily stamp again, coloured the flower with my Copics and fussy cut it out. I die cut the banner with a My Favorite Things die and stamped the sentiment ('Congratulations on your special day' in Finnish) on it. The patterned papers are by Lili of the Valley. Hope you like it :)
