Kortteja, kortteja, joulukortteja! - Christmas cards galore!

Joulu oli ja meni ja mitäpä sitä muuta haluaisi nähdä kuin joulukortteja... ;D En ehtinyt postata niitä ennen joulua, joten nyt tulisi sitten joulukorttia joulukortin päälle. Loppuvaiheessa ennen joulua tein joulukortteja sitä tahtia, etten edes ottanut niistä enää kuvia, joten tässä on vain osa tämän vuoden joulukorttimalleista. Laitan ne kaikki yhteen syssyyn ilman sen kummempia selityksiä; jos jokin niissä mietityttää, niin kysy pois!

Although, I have to say these piccies don't include all the Christmas cards I made, just before Christmas I was making them in such a frenzied manner that I didn't even have the time to photograph them. But here come the ones I did photograph :) (Any questions about them, please go ahead and ask!).

Lumihiutale - Snowflake

Ja palataas taas joulukortteihin... Tähän korttiin tein varsin blingbling lumihiutaleen liimaamalla ensin kartongille kaksipuolista superteippiä, stanssaamalla lumihiutaleen Cuttlebugin stanssilla ja sitten "uittamalla" hiutaletta irtohileessä. Sen jälkeen kävin vielä hiutaleen läpi taittotyökalulla, jotta glitteri varmasti tarttuisi kunnolla kiinni. Taustapaperin leimasin The Artistic Stamperin taustaleimalla, siniseen kartonkiin stanssasin osittaisen ympyrän, jonka "sisälle" sitten laitoin hiutaleen. Kiinnitin kartongin tarrapaloilla, jotta sain korttiin hieman kolmiulotteisuutta. Koristeena hieman leipurin nyöriä ja tekstileimana Stempelkellerin hiutale-teksti.

Here's a 'snowy' Christmas card for you. For this card, I made the snowflake by attaching a sheet of super tape onto a piece of cardstock, die cutting the snowflake with a Cuttlebug die and then pouring heaps of glitter onto the snowflake. I made sure the glitter stuck by 'sweeping' the snowflake with a bone folder. I wanted the snowflake to be the centre of attention so I cut a half circle out of the blue cardstock and attached the flake into the die cut circle. I attached the blue cardstock itself with foam pads to get a bit of 3D effect going. I stamped the background paper with a stamp by The Artistic Stamper. As embellie, there's a piece of baker's twine. The sentiment is in Finnish.

Lumihiutale - Snowflake

Tykkään jotenkin punaisen ja vaaleansinisen yhdistelmästä ja välillä on kiva tehdä joulukortteja, joissa ei oikeastaan ole mitään erityisemmin jouluista (paitsi nyt tekstileima ;) ). Tätä korttia varten taittelin korttipohjan 4cc-kartongista ja kohokuvioin sen Cuttlebugin Moroccan Screen -taskulla. "Lumihiutaleen" kokosin Papertrey Inkin stanssilla stanssatusta doilysta, vaaleansinisestä ympyrästä ja niinikään PTI:n stanssilla ja leimalla tehdystä pienestä doilysta. Vaaleansiniseen ympyrään leimasin Hero Artsin Flourish Background -leimalla ja Versamark Dazzle -musteella (sääli, että hienoinen kimallus ei kuvassa näy :/ ). Punainen muste on Hero Artsin Shadow Inkiä (Red Royal). Lumihiutaleen keskelle laitoin vielä pienen napin. Tekstin leimasin kalvolle ja sen alle lisäsin vielä toisen liuskan kalvoa, jolle teippasin hieman washiteippiä. Lisukkeeksi vielä punaista satiininauhaa.

I really like the colour combination of pure red and pale blue and sometimes it's nice to make Christmas cards that actually don't really have any particularly "Christmassy" elements (well, except the sentiment that says 'Merry Christmas' ;) ). For this card I folded the card blank from white cardstock and dry embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder 'Moroccan Screen'. I made the "snowflake" with a doily I die cut with a Papertrey Ink die, a pale blue circle (a Spellbinders die), and a smaller doily I die cut and stamped with a PTI die and stamp. I stamped the pale blue circle with the Hero Arts stamp 'Flourish Background' and some Versamark Dazzle ink (it's such a shame you can't really see the dazzle in the piccie, but it's there, believe me). The red ink I used is Hero Arts Shadow Ink 'Red Royal'. I finished the snowflake with a tiny red button. I stamped the sentiment onto an acetate strip and attached another strip of acetate underneath it and taped some washi tape onto that second strip. As a final touch I used some red satin ribbon and made a bow with it.

Talvinen kuu - Winter moon

Joulukortteja on tullut tehtyä jo jokunen, vaikka niitä ei täällä blogissa olekaan vielä näkynyt mutta josko niitä nyt alkaisi jo ilmestyä :) Tämän vuoden kortteihin ostin jokusen uuden leiman ja tässä kortissa käytin niistä kahta, Hero Artsin Winter Moonia ja Many Branches Treetä. Leimasin molemmat Hero Artsin Shadow Inkeillä (Wet Cement ja Cup o' Joe). Taustan paperi on Bo Bunnya ja alaosan kartongin kohokuvioin Papertrey Inkin impression platella (vaikkakin se hieman huonosti näkyy tuossa kuvassa). Koristeiksi laitoin muutaman timantin ja leipurin nyöriä, kortin kulmat pyöristin corner chomperilla.

I have managed to make a few Christmas cards already although you haven't seen them around here yet. Here's one card I made using a couple of my new stamps, namely Hero Arts' Winter Moon and Many Branches Tree. I stamped them using Hero Arts Shadow Inks (Wet Cement and Cup o' Joe). The patterned paper is by Bo Bunny. I dry embossed the dark blue cardstock at the bottom of the card with a Papertrey Ink impression plate (although I think you can't see it that clearly in the photo) and rounded the corners of the card with a corner chomper. As embellies there are a few rhinestones and some baker's twine.

Lumihiutale - Snowflake

Tällä kertaa P*skarteluhaasteessa oli vuorossa värihaaste ja aivan ihanat värit olivatkin, mutta silti jostain syystä älyttömän vaikeat. En meinannut millään saada niitä kaikkia samaan korttiin sopimaan enkä tiedä, olenko niinkään tyytyväinen tähän korttiin (vaikkakin tämä on paljon parempi kuin eka yritykseni! ;D ). Mutta tällä mennään kuitenkin. Korttipohjana siis harmaata kartonkia, jonka reunan leikkasin Marthan leikkurilla, paperi Bo Bunnyn paperikosta, keskipisteenä tummanharmaasta ja tuollaisesta sinertävänvihertävästä kartongista stanssatut ympyrät, jotka molemmat kiinnitin tarrapaloilla. 'Keskipisteen keskipisteenä' stanssattu lumihiutale ja siinä yksi timantti. Tähän tuli nyt ylimääräisenä värinä tuo valkoinen mutta josko neutraali väri sallitaan lisänä..?

I wanted to join in this week with the Finnish challenge blog P*skarteluhaaste because they have a wonderful colour challenge going. The colours are beautiful (please click the link below to see the colours) but for some reason it was unbelievably difficult for me to get them all in one card and to get them look at least half decent. I'm not sure I'm that pleased with my card but at least it's way better than my first attempt - hee hee! ;D Anyways, I folded the card base using pale grey cardstock and punched the bottom edge with a Martha Stewart punch. The patterned paper is by Bo Bunny. I die cut the circles in the middle from dark grey and teal coloured cardstocks and attached both with foam pads. Then I die cut the snowflake and added one single rhinestone to it. The white colour on the snowflake is additional colour and wasn't included in the challenge but I'm hoping an added neutral colour is ok..

Joulukortti! - A Christmas card!

Tämän vuoden ensimmäinen joulukortti on nyt sitten tehty! Jotenkin joulukorttien tekeminen on aina yhtä tuskaisaa, en tiedä mikä siinä on, mutta nyt on ensimmäinen valmis ja toivottavasti lisää tulee ;) Tein tämän kortin Hero Artsin lokakuun haasteen innoittamana, siitä tulee siis sekä aihe (joulukortit) että luonnos. Käytin tähän korttiin Graphic45:n Christmas Past -papereita, joita olen varmasti hehkuttanut aiemminkin mutta hehkutan edelleen, ne nimittäin ovat kauneimpia joulupapereita, joita olen löytänyt. Leimakuvana tässä on Hero Artsin Trees of the Season -setin talvileima, jonka embossasin ruskealla jauheella. Samaisella jauheella embossasin myös tekstin. Koristeena on hieman nappia ja nauhaa.

Behold, the first Yule card of this year! Hah, yes, I've made my first Christmas card for this year, I know I'm starting late but there's just something about making Christmas cards that doesn't really appeal to me. It's always so difficult for me to start making them but now the first one is done and hopefully there'll be plenty more ;) This card was inspired by the Hero Arts' October Challenge, the theme (holiday cardmaking) and the sketch come from there. The stamp I used here is the winter stamp from the gorgeous Hero Arts' set Trees of the Season. I heat embossed it and the sentiment (which says 'Christmas peace') with brown embossing powder. The papers I used are by Graphic45 (I just love this Christmas Past paper collection!). As embellies there's some ribbon and a button.

Ja nyt hieman höpinää, kun kerran Herosta puhutaan... Oletko huomannut tuon Heroine-lätkän, joka on ilmestynyt tuohon oikealle puolelle? Sain sen A Blog Named Heron syyskuun haasteesta, jossa tämä korttini valittiin viiden parhaan joukkoon! Hieman olen yllättynyt ja otettu :) :)

And while we're on the subject of Hero Arts.... Have you noticed the Heroine badge that I now have on the right sidebar of my blog? I got that from the September challenge of A Blog Named Hero where my card was awarded a place in the Top 5! I am so surprised and honoured :) :)
