Project 365 for 2010
So it has been a while since the last post. I am not really into this whole blogging phenomenon yet. Don't really get it. But I figure that since my darling husband got me a laptop for my birthday to keep up on my blog, that I had better start doing something about it. Since August, I have won a couple of card contests and have been published in Scrapbook News and Review magazine...yay me...
Then came Christmas...merry Christmas to everyone. I got a Cricut Gypsy...now I just have to figure out how to use it. And today is New Year's Eve - time for some resolutions to be made! Gordie (the hubby) set a challenge in my mind and I figured what the heck?? May as well try it out and see how it goes.
He was walking in my craft room...the disaster that it is...and stated that I could probably scrapbook a whole year without buying anything new and still have supplies left over...I was thinking to myself "No kidding, probably more like five years..." but wouldn't say that out loud or I may just be cut off of scrapbook supplies for good. That would just not be any good at all! We watched that movie Julie and Julia the other night and I thought that could be my challenge in a way. Make a blog entry for my projects, only not as fanatical as hers was...and people can join in.
So...I am challenging myself to complete 365 projects in 365 days, starting tomorrow, of course. I will be trying to use mainly supplies that I already have (but not limited to only those). The projects can be as small as a gift tag or as elaborate as a 2 page scrapbook layout or more. It can be a card or altered project....it can be anything using the supplies I have. If anyone would like to join in this challenge with me, the more the merrier. There are no rules other that you have to finish a year's worth of projects in a year. Not too hard, right? Yikes....they don't have to be your original ideas...you can scraplift or whatever you like...if you go to a card making workshop that lets you make 30 cards in a day, you can count that as 30 projects or 1...(depends how far behind you might be....or ahead, for that matter). If you do crafts other than with paper, you can still set out for the same challenge on a different level, depending on the complexity of your hobby.
You can follow on the blog or post comments...they are always appreciated and enjoyed...even if they are from my mom! If you want in on the challenge, you can post a link on your blog and we can all connect. Just put up some pictures of your projects on your blog and number them so that we can all see where everyone is at in the challenge...no pressure and no punishment if it doesn't happen....just satisfaction of using what we already have instead of storing it....time to cut up those really nice papers and actually use them instead of admiring them from the closet....
Good luck to anyone who wants to try this challenge, and good luck to me...I will be up early tomorrow to make a card for Lance and Cindy's wedding tomorrow night....good luck to them too!

thinking of you
Thanks to my peeps who made cards to donate to the hospital for card making night. They are gorgeous and I appreciate the time spent making them. They have gone to a good cause.
Christmas card making night is coming up quick...get your supplies out and dusted off. I am getting excited about it already and it is only July. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with....
And of course, all the good, delicious, mouth watering food...who could forget the food?
