2011 365 #037 - hang in there

I thought this card turned our rather cute. I colored everything in with my copic markers and some paper piecing. I am going to enter it in the following challenges:
Creative prompts #54 paint my room - green and stripes and flowers and the post are all triggers from the picture prompt they have here:
I copic lovers: cream, green and lime: http://blog.icopic.com/
Bugaboo stamps catch the bug challenge: green with envy and a sketch: http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/2011/02/green-with-envy.html - so my sketch following skills were a little sketchy on this one, but the idea is there - tried to use my clothes line at the button and ribbon area with the middle of the sketch being the clothes...hope it qualifies close enough....
I am also using this card for the challenge at the Scrap Yard for our monthly card contest....the stamp I used is one of the ones required for the challenge...thanks for looking!

2011 365 #036 FWYS

I am going to enter it in the following challenge:
Bah Humbug - things that fly: http://bah-humbug-christmas.blogspot.com/ - because reindeer still know how to fly no matter what the predicament.

WOYWW - posted on Thursday...ooops

The kids had a holiday on Monday (and I used a vacation day), so in my mind it is still technically Wednesday...even if it is not...have a bit of a mess going on here. I decided to issue myself a "finish what you have started" challenge. I have hosted and been to several card exchange nights and different classes, where I have grabbed the kit and said, "I will just finish this one at home". Of course, I never, ever do. I have 4 buckets of kits and started cards that I just couldn't be bothered to put together...not for any other reason than when I go into that room I always want to start something new instead of pulling out something old...hmmm...I have got 5 Christmas cards finished and packaged, with envelopes and ready to go...that is my new thing this year too... I am putting all of my finished cards in clear envelopes with their respective envelope inside. I am stamping the inside verse on a scrap piece of paper and dropping it in the back of the envelope. Sort of like I would be putting them up for sale. This way they get less squished in the box and I can tell exactly what is inside when the time for them is needed. I am sure liking this system of keeping them organized. I am also being forced to finish the inside at the same time...I have hundreds of blank cards cuz the fronts were so pretty, but I didn't finish the insides...boy does that suck in a rush when you need cards on the way out the door and you have to run around searching for the perfect inside verse!...no more....join in the challenge and finish something you have started too...this will be part of my 365 (with the goal being 1000 paper items completed this year.

2011 365 #034 -plaid birthday greetings

This one is not my favorite card, that is for sure, but my 9 year old loves it....too many strong colours for me...trying to use up scraps and just trying too hard on this one I guess...iykwim?
I will still enter it in the following challenges though:
One stop Craft challenge: use cake somewhere on your card: http://onestopcraftchallenge.blogspot.com/
I have also decided to issue myself another challenge (which might help out my 1000 paper items) - a finish what you have started challenge...I found 2 boxes of started projects when cleaning up for the garage sale out at the Scrap Yard this weekend. I have decided that I will finish all of the cards in those boxes as part of my 365 challenge...got started yesterday and have 5 cards done already...will have to post them when the camera battery is charged...wahoo...join in the fun, it is not too late!

2011 365 #033 - never travel without my diary

I whipped this card up for the Opus Gluei Challenge: book theme - http://opus-gluei.blogspot.com/ . I also used the sketch from Twisted Sketches - http://www.twistedsketches.com/(the twist was distressing, so I did 3 kinds....around the checker paper with the Distress it tool (may slowly become a fan), around the edges with black ink and by smudging orange in different areas of the solid papers.
This one was a fun and simple one...I also got to use two stamps that I have had for years and never figured out what to do with. Another goal for the year on its way!!! I will use all of those stamps....or a good majority of them, anyway. It is not normal for me to stamp with coloured ink, but I think the orange girl in the background makes this card??? what about you?

2011 365 #032 - I'm hooked on you

I made this little card with my finally organized and mounted Popcorn Bear stamps...I love these images. I did the sketch from Sketch Saturday (they picked me as a winner last week...yippee...): http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/
I am also entering it in the following challenges:
Allsorts: inspired by nature: http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/
Paper Sundaes: masculine colours: http://www.papersundaes.blogspot.com/
7 kids college fund: square card: http://7kidschallengeblog.blogspot.com/
thanks for looking!

2011 365 #031 - cupcake card

I made this card with some of the scraps from my valentine projects...I put some crystal effects on the cupcake part and sprinkled on some glitter...too bad pictures don't pick up the true sparkle that it has...I also put a pop dot under the icing while the crystal effects was still wet, so it looks 3-d in real life. I coloured it all with the copics and used the sucky distrezz it tool again, so now I can say I have used it twice!
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Order of the Opus Gluei: feeling sketchy: http://opus-gluei.blogspot.com/
Paper Sundaes: pick your sundae topping: use at least two of the following: flowers, lace, distressing, pink: http://www.papersundaes.blogspot.com/

2011 365 #029 - Morgan's game pieces

ooopppsss forgot to take a picture of the game pieces i made for my niece's party on sunday...but i am counting them anyway cuz i cut out 40 of them...she is having a christmas party for her birthday, so i cut out stockings for a game the little ones will be playing...

WOYWW 88 - Feb 09, 2011

I am so excited...I finally have all of my unmounted and clear stamps organized...it only took me a year, but it is done...now I can find everything that I am looking for easily...just need labels for the sides of the containers and I am ready to go! These cases from Stampin' Up are awesome...they hold stamps on the front and the back, so you can put a couple of sets at least in each one....thanks for looking! 2011 365 #028 - love bug magnets

I didn't want those extra bugs that I spent hours making to be wasted, so I made some love bug magnets...I think these are even cuter than the valentines...might take some to work and see if any of my peeps are interested...they do liven up the dull cubicles a little....and grey padded walls and pink would go so nice together....
I am entering these in the following challenge:
The Opus Gluei: it must be love- make a decoration for your home - my guess is these are the only kind of bugs I want in my kitchen! on the fridge, on the dishwasher, knowing my girls - on all the cupboard door handles - http://opus-gluei.blogspot.com/2011/02/challenge-89-love-is-in-air-and-in-home.html

2011 365 # 027 - love bug valentine's

okay...so there only ended up being 100 valentines and not the 125 originally planned...but that is only because I ran out of candy and NOT because I ran out of energy! Although I was feeling it by the end...they seemed to turn out cute though! At least I think so....

2011 365 #027 - invasion of the love bugs

They aren't quite done yet, but they are soooo much work and soooo time consuming that I think they might deserve two posts...the work in progress here and then a final posting when they are all assembled....I am attempting to make 125 Valentine's for my girls' and my neice's classes at school and dance etc...I made all of the love bugs on the Cricut and spent 6 hours yesterday gluing them together...sooo much fun...I started assembling them, but figured putting the bags together with the toppers is just too hard with ribbon and a hole punch, so I put them away and decided I would finish them at home when I had a stapler handy...but I got 4 finished, so I posted anyway....good thing we had a crop to go to or these babies would never have come to our neck of the woods!
I am entering these in the following challenges:
Allsorts Challenge: It must be love: http://allsortschallenge.blogspot.com/

2011 365 #026 - lucky duck

Using the scraps from my previous card, I whipped up this lucky duck- funny thing is that I think this is my most favorite card out of all the ones I made at the crop - super simple yet super cute...and it is only a 3x3.5 little thing....maybe cuz it was just a fun one and not for any reason? not sure, but I liked this one best other than the scrapbook page (365 #19) out of all the stuff I made at the crop. Thanks Deborah for putting on a super fun day to socialize and hang out with friends...glad it was successful for you too!

2011 365 #025 - Friendship cards

I made these cards at the Stampin' up make and take at the crop for Kiddigarden - the demonstrator said we were making Valentine's, but when she handed around the slab of paper, there were non-Valentine papers hanging out in the stack...I am kind of done with the Valentine theme (I had been assembling 125 love bugs all day already for the kid's valentines - coming in a future post when I finish assembling them all) - that it was a relief to find paper that wasn't pink, red or purple - so these are what I came up with during the class...
I am entering this card in the following challenge:
Paper Sundaes: two or more images - the hearts are a single image done twice - http://www.papersundaes.blogspot.com/

2011 365 #024 - Morgan's bday card

I made this card in the make and take class at the crop for Kiddigarden....I thought my neice Morgan would like it...so it will become hers today at her first birthday party....Happy 6th Morgan!

2011 365 #023 - Guido and Loretta

I also won this stamp from Stitchy Bear stamps and I am for sure sending this one in on the Stonewall ScrapYard Challenge...again, using the scraps from the previous scrapbook page...man can you get a lot done with 4 pieces of paper....thought this one was funny...I am not a lovey dovey type person when it comes to Valentine's day, so I thought this one would be fun...plus the stamp says me and you what a team...what else would go?? I am entering this card in the following challenges: Catch the bug challenge: anything goes - http://catchthebugblog.blogspot.com/ Crazy 4 challenges: valentine's - http://crazy4challenges.blogspot.com/

2011 365 #22 - Gordie's valentine's card

I made this card for my Gordie for Valentine's day...he is my superhero after all...eeewww cheesy, I know....but I won this digital stamp from Stitchy Bear stamps and I couldn't resist...plus I was still using up scraps...might enter this one in the Stonewall Challenge too...It has their required stamp of the month on it...not sure though..kind of geeky
I am entering it in the following challenges:
Catered Crop : recipe challenge - I used the following ingredients: sentiment about love, copic markers, blue ink, ribbon, theme of love, hearts and swirls - http://cateredcrop.com/
The Crafty Pad: Love is in the air - http://thecraftypad.blogspot.com/

2011 365 #021 - me and you card

Whipped this card up with some of the leftovers from Ems' scrapbook page a couple of posts down...still trying to use up all of my leftovers...turned out okay for a 2 minute card.
I am entering this card in the following challenge:
Paper Cutz - valentine card with no hearts: http://www.papercutzchallenge.blogspot.com/

2011 365 #020 - you brighten my day

This card is from the samples we made during a misting class at the crop for Kidigarden...the card is nothing spectacular (however, Emily thought it was absolutely fantastic - glad I am appealing to the 9 year old market anyway :)...)there were a couple of techniques mushed together on this sample, so I thought I may as well use up the scraps...thanks for a fun class Nicole!
I am entering it in the following challenge:
Our Creative Corner - tree with clean and simple - no simpler than a stamp on flat paper: http://www.ourcreativecorner6.blogspot.com/

2011 365 #019 - Emily as the Vampiress

I did this page at the crop for Kidigarden yesterday.. It was for a sketch challenge that my friend Nicole made up...awesome sketch made this page be complete in 10 minutes....and it is one of my most favorite pics of Emily...she was sooo excited to wear those teeth...
I am going to enter this in the following challenge:
Mission to Create: used some pastel on the flower paper (it's a stretch, I know), misted the black polka dot paper - thanks to Nicole's misting class (got brave and used it on my page, but you can't really see it...), use stiching on the journaling lines, used Nicole's sketch, use lace (the balls have lace above the, but it is hard to tell in the picture)...so I think I have most of the concepts down...you can find them here: http://missiontocreate.blogspot.com/2011/02/mission-35.html#comments

2011 365 #018 another chicken dinner

I whipped up these cards for the Opus Gluei Chicken dinner challenge: http://opus-gluei.blogspot.com/and the Card Patterns sketch challenge:http://cardpatterns.blogspot.com/... nothing special, but kind of fun and now I have a little set I can give away to someone....I love that little chicken set....plus it brings me up to 33 completed paper items for this year so far! Wahoo...time to move on to the kid's valentines....just need 100 of those...that will kick start my goal of 1000 items this year....join in the fun...leave a comment and I will link you up with the "others" who are trying to achieve 365 or another goal for 2011...and I used another stamp set that has been buried for a while...and the sad distressing tool that I paid waaaayyy too much for from Zutter and do not really like...but am forcing myself to try and use it cuz it was spensive....

let it snow....yikes

for those of you wintering in places waaayyy warmer than this (mother), here's a glimpse of what you are missing....this is just the junk from the street in front of the house...the snow banks are high enough that the girls can reach the branches on the city trees....wow! this is insane! so much for having any grass left by the spring...the snowplows will have done a number on our front yard! but at least we can drive on the road now....wahoo

Brrr

k...I am officially fed up with winter...it is -31 C outside right now and with the wind chill it is -43c...soooo cold...but at least they finally cleaned our street yesterday evening (and they did a mighty fine job, I might add)...so there are 15 foot snowbanks at the ends of our driveway (but nothing in the driveway...yeehaw)...brrrr...soooo done with winter....where is spring?
