2012 365 #72 - santa's list

The Jingle Belles challenge this week is use a sticker...this is probably the oldest set of stickers that I had laying around - I got them at least 10 years ago cuz I just thought they were so cool...the buttons are also stickers, so I got a two fer one on this card...all the papers were in the scrap bucket...another bonus!

2012 365 #71 - Get well again

I made this card for one of Emily's friends who broke her leg this week...thought she could use a bit of a cheerup.  I followed the sketch from CPS card sketches for it.

2012 365 #70 - get well soon

one of my co-workers has taken ill and we decided we needed a card to send around for everyone to sign, so I volunteered to whip one up...looks kind of over exposed in the picture, but not sure why?  the colours are much bolder and less gruesome looking in real life (it doesn't look as morbid as it does in the picture...good thing or she wouldn't be getting well quickly).  I used the sketch from CardPatterns this week for the card and all the items were really old stash...you know...like when American Crafts made one sided paper??? And it was thin???

2012 365 #69 - 4 8 12 leap birthday

I made this card for the girls' friend Katie...she turned 3/12 today....a leap year baby in the millenium...cool birthday for a kid (in some ways)....I am entering it in the Paper Sundaes Circle challenge - I think there are enough that it should qualify.  I used the sketch from the Paper Players for the card....hope you had a great birthday chickeroona!

2012 365 #67 - SOS challenge #41 - good day

this week at Shopping our Stash the challenge is use a sentiment or a Bugaboo image...I did both cuz that is just the way I am...I love this sentiment...it really can re-focus you on a bad day!  - or just make you giggle cuz it is just that much fun....so why don't you break out some of the sentiment stamps you have lying around and show us what you can do...by the way, this card is made with 100% scraps, an old digi image that has never been printed and a stamp that hasn't been used in at least 2 years...wahoo on the stash using...

2012 365 #68 - That's the ticket

The Poohbahs set the challenge of That's The Ticket this week over at the Opus Gluei...and I took the challenge full force.... I made my own ticket and did the rip ticket look underneath...I also snuck out and bought the ticket paper yesterday from my LSS...shhh...not buying stuff ...bwah ha ha hahhha hha...hopefully I finally achieved some masculinity in this card...it finally looks boyish...that was a long road of lacking testosterone cards to get to this one...but I think I am finally there!  Come on out and show us your ticket...hopefully not a speeding ticket though...don't want to see those!

2012 365 #61 - SOS inspiration photo

This week's challenge at Shopping our Stash was to use a photo for inpiration.  I found this inspiration sketch very difficult...I think mostly it was because of the colours, but I found this paper in the back of my paper closet...it is probably over 10 years old and hopefully the colours are close enough to the picture to get the inspiration...also chose some butterflies, but that was not too hard for me to do...love working with those...I used the sketch from the Sweet Stop this week for the card and added in their twist for die cuts...the label and the swirl were both die cuts, but I hand cut the butterflies from some patterned paper.

2012 365 #66 - happy birthday

This is my last attempt at a masculine birthday card today!  I thought it looked boyish enough, until the hubby came downstairs and said that only I could make yellow, red, green and blue look girlie...I will just never get it!  Oh well, what can I say?  I must just be a girly girl straight down to my bones...I am entering this card in the following challenges: sketch - Frosted Designs - I really liked this sketch and plan on using it a few more times...love the effect of it...

2012 365 #66 - make a splash

I made this card with somemore leftovers...it should make a good summer birthday card or invite to something in the sunshine...not sure which one yet...I followed the sketch for Come and get it Challenges and will enter it in the Catered Crop seeing red challenge (hopefully it is enough red, but I couldn't bring myself to do more red than that after all the Valentine's challenges last week)...I am also going to throw it into the Allsorts anything goes challenge...I don't usually enter the anything goes type challenges, but I figured what the heck???

2012 365 #64 - Good times

Still trying to do these masculine looking cards, but I am just not feeling it...if it doesn't have a fish or a card it just feels like a girl card to me...but boys are getting them, none the less...I used the sketch from CPS card sketches  for this card...it is all done with scraps from my latest scrapbook page... yep...used up a whole paper line last night...made me shake a bit, but it is almost completely gone : (   I am also entering this card in the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge Charm me.

2012 365 #63 - birthday squared

I made this birthday card for the card patterns sketch this week...hopefully it can pass as a boy card cuz I think a boy may end up getting it...oh well...what can you do?  The more I look at it, I think it is girlie and I just can't make a boyish card...might have to take a class...or buy more boyish paper??

2012 365 #62 - lemonade stand

I was going through my paper closet for some supplies for another challenge and I came across these pictures from quite a few summers ago...my little girlies look sooo little in these pictures...hard to believe the oldest one is 12 now...feeling a little nostalgic at how cute they were, I decided I was going to scrap these pictures tonight...they were not going to go back in the closet...I used the sketch from Artful Delight and I think the pictures worked perfectly for it...except that I had to flip the sketch on its side to make them fit properly...

2012 365 #60 - all buttoned up

I am still keeping in pace with the Jingle Belles Challenge...it is a real challenge for me as I only like making Christmas cards in August and September, but they are such fun girls to play along with that I figured I am going to make my best effort to be a joiner this year...their challenge this week is all buttoned up...I followed the sketch from Tuesday morning sketches for the card...I think it turned out kind of cute and I am pretty sure I got all the twists that were required...much better than my crazy metal card for SOS this week...I am glad to be back on track with something more "me"...

2012 365 #57 - SOS use metal

okay, this card should win the tackiest card in the world challenge, but I just can't get the hang of a masculine birthday card...they all look girlie to me and this one is now tacky and girlie...on the plus side, it has tonnes of metal on it...and that is the challenge for Shopping our Stash this week...the stars are embossed metal vent tape with teal alcohol ink on it, the ring around the tag is metal, the embellies are and so is the library clip, the brads and the little tag...but boy is it ugly ;)..please show up this card by participating in the SOS challenge this week, as I hang my head in shame....

2012 365 #59 - happy birthday

Day number 15 for the CPS Card Sketch anniversary challenge...finished them all, and I think I was finally successful in making a masculine looking birthday card...all with leftovers from other projects yet...wah hoozle...I loved this challenge and sure stocked up on some well needed birthday cards in my stash...awesome!

I followed the sketch for day #14 with CPS card sketches for this card...the whole card was made out of scraps from the scrap box...including the flowers...love using that stuff up...

2012 365 #54 - warm fuzzies with the Opus Gluei

This week's challenge for the Opus Gluei Poohbahs is to use your warm fuzzies...I love fuzzy stuff...and texture...especially on cards.  I made this card using the Simple Stories line of paper...I think I love this paper line..it is so not my usual style but the colours are totally me...I don't usually like the papers with all kinds of different things going on in different directions, but I used it for another card and the colours just had me completely smitten, so I tried it out...and now I am hooked...

I made 70 of these valentine's for my girls to give out to their friends this week...I am also donating 15 of them for a bake sale fundraiser for our Children's hospital...hopefully they go over well...

2012 365 #51 - love overflows

I think this may be my last Valentine for the year, other than the kid's valentine projects which are just about complete...I am entering it in the following challenges: Card makin mamas - valentine, Come and get it challenges - love and Crafty Creations Challenge - swirly whirly - Sentimental Sundays -feel the love, Simon Says Stamp -Love is in the air.  I made the roses out of some left over scalloped punched circles from the kid's valentine creations along with the black circle...then I dry embossed the edges of the card and added some bling and a sentiment...

2012 365 #49 - happy birthday

I made this card using the CPS card sketch for day 11...still going strong on that challenge of getting all 15 cards done (I always have high hopes on these kind of challenges and then usually forget to finish them off, but not this time)...I mixed 3 different companies of scrap paper together to make this card and I think the blend quite well considering they were all made for something else...I am loving using the scraps up...sorry to all of you if the cards all seem the same colours etc, cuz there have been a lot of repeat papers lately in my effort to not have leftovers...

Still hanging in for day 10 of  the CPS Card sketches anniversary challenges...they have been having such fun sketches to play along with...my stamp for this card was a little big for the sketch, so I had to modify a bit to get it all to fit on a square card.  Hopefully the sketch is still decipherable after all the twists and turns...I think it is...

2012 365 #42 - princess birthday card

I made this card for my niece's birthday...she is turning 7 in a week and needed a princess card...hope she likes it...followed the sketch from CPS card sketches anniversary sketch.  I am also entering it in the Pixie Dust Studios Girly Girl challenge...another dark picture...not sure I can make it look much better...52 card pick up also asked me to link up with her, so I will...she is doing a similar challenge to me, only hers is one card a week for the year, instead of a project everyday (ish)...

2012 365 #41 - Baby boy card

again, I followed along with another of the CPS sketches...this one is day six on their anniversary challenge..I am also entering it in the Winter Wonderland Blue and white challenge..not sure if I really like this card or not...the sketch completely stumped me and made me have to really work to get a semi-presentable card (a couple hit the trash first and still this was the best I could come up with)...yikes...It was brutal!  sorry for the terrible pics...it is really cloudy and foggy here today and I couldn't get a bright looking one for the life of me...this card really is baby blue and tealy...there is no green...we really need more lighting in this house!

2012 365 #40 joyeux noel - a banner holiday

Joyeux Noel...this is my attempt at the Jingle Belles banner holiday challenge...it looks a little better in real life than in the picture, but not much ;p  it is kind of busy and blingy and sparkly...but it was the best that I could come up with for a Christmas card this week...sorry for the torture....next challenge should be better for me (hopefully)...good things the kiddos go to french school...I can pawn this one off on one of the teachers for extra credit...or a big fail...

2012 365 #39 - a little birdie told me

I made this card for one of the girls' dance teachers...she fell earlier this week on some ice and broke her arm and dislocated her elbow and shoulder....ouch, sounds so incredibly painful that it was deserving of a cheering up card...I used the CPS Card Sketches challenge for day 4 of their celebration.
