2012 365 #93 Carousel on the Wharf

this is the last of the pages I finished this weekend...all in all it was relatively a productive weekend - 6 scrapbook pages and 15 cards done...and no scraps left (except for a bit from this page...about enough to do one more card)...I wanted to get way more done, but I am still happy with what I did finish...but there are still tons of trip pictures to finish off...still in Seattle...haven't really even made it to Alaska yet ;)  but getting there....I am totally into this buying a line of paper and having everything blend together so nicely...think I might just keep buying my supplies that way as I need them...loving the way the cards are turning out with the scraps too...

2012 365 #92 Taffy

I used the sketch from Scrapbook and Cards Today for this page and completed it at the Winnipeg Crop and Create challenge...I followed the something old, something new something borrowed and something Cool challenge to make this page... it was all about the salt water taffy at the market in Seattle...mmm soooo good...the girls and I chowed down on several pieces of this delicious stuff during our trek through Seattle...

2012 365 #91 - Seattle Skyline

a great picture of the Seattle sky line...cloudy the whole time we were there, but very little rain...

2012 365 #90 - been there, done that

a picture of the Seattle Space Needle...we went up to the top twice while we were in Seattle...once in daylight and once at night...

2012 365 #88 - Glorious Glaciers

This is the Mendenhahl glacier in Alaska...sooooo pretty...the intense teal blue in the glaciers is phenomenal...wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes...

2012 365 #87 merci butterfly card

this card was done with all scraps from one of my scrapbook pages...love using scraps to make cards...that is my new paper crafting addiction....I am joining in at the 52 card pickup this week...

2012 365 #86 Thank you butterfly card

This butterfly gave me nightmares...I couldn't get it to look pretty for the life of me...it is better now, but still not great...the paine helped it out a bit though...

2012 3365 #85 crop cards

these are the cards that I made at the Crop and Create crop this weekend...the first pic is from some make and takes from Scrapbooking by Design and with Vicki Boutin...the second and third pictures are from the two card classes I took with Kimber McGray...tweaked a couple of them, but they are mostly her designs (at least 99%)...kind of wished I had learned some new techniques this weekend, but alas I already knew everything taught in the classes I chose to take... :(  but the projects looked nice when they were done anyway, so that is a bonus :)

2012 365 #84 - Cirlcle of thanks card

The challenge at Shopping our Stash this week is circles and round things...I made this card at a crop this weekend...the design was from a make and take, but then I went back to the table and blasted a few of these babies out...they were trying to sell these circles (6 little circles - the ones in the centre for around $6) as part of their sponsor type goodies in the stores...I already had the paper so I whipped them up at my table and put them on the cards...why pay for what you can make, especially at those prices...yikes...they were just circles for crying out loud...no bling or anything...and people were just scooping them up...people what is wrong with you...make them yourselves!!!  Scrap stash is perfect for this kind of card and I know I will be doing tons more for birthdays etc cuz it was just sooo easy...so instead of listening to me go around in circles in this post, run out and make a circle project...let's see what you can come up with!

2012 365 # 78 - In like a lion

The challenge over at the Opus Gluei this week is "In like a lion or out like a lamb"...I set this challenge thinking it would be a great spring challenge...our weather did come in like a lion with some wicked winds and tons of snow (to be fair, we did have the nicest winter in the history of winters here...very unusual!)...and the rest of the month has been a lamb (or whatever would be better than a lamb in this saying)...we have broke tons of records for heat and there is no snow left at all....at this time of year the day time highs are usually around 0 C...we have hit in the 20 C range on more than 5 occasions this month...broke every record ever put out there since record keeping began by at least 5 C...insane...let's hope it continues into the summer and we don't end up with a blizzard in April and swarms of mosquitos!  Come on out and show us your animalistic side over at the Opus Gluei this week!

2012 365 #83 - what could be more perfect???

What could be more perfect than one of the warmest spring days in history...with perfectly blue skies and sunshine?  I can tell you...a broken washing machine so I have no guilt at all about going to the Crop and Create at the Delta tomorrow and Saturday...can't wait...I am sooooooo excited and have sooooo many projects planned...going to try to get the majority of my Alaska album done and make cards with all the scraps...plus I am taking 3 classes, so it should be a good time all around...it should be such a fun weekend...the cards and projects are the ones we did at our last stamp club...it is over now until next year, but all my goodies came in (and I was the hostess this month, so I got lots of stuff...) and I packed them all up for tomorrow too...for those of you going, can't to see you there!

2012 365 #82 - congrats on your new gnome

This week's challenge over at Shopping our Stash is buttons and or bows...I did a bit of both on my card...I had won these papers earlier in the month and this stamp set is sort of new, but even though it is not old stash, I am trying to use the stuff up as it comes into my house as well as pulling out the old stuff, so I am using all stash for this card....plus the gnomes are just so cute!  Why don't you come out and join us this week and show us what you can do?

Canada's got talent

Canada has talent...and it starts at home in our neighbourhood!  Congrats to all the girls at our dance studio who made it through on the first round of the show this week...you gals are awesome!  Keep up the good work!  Picture sucks, but they were great!

2012 365 #76 - birthday chef

today's challenge at Shopping our Stash is food or drink...I forgot that I had this chef stamp as he was on the bottom of my Stampin' up stamp pile....But out he came and a clean and simple card was made...I used only scraps on this baby, which is my goal before cutting into the new...especially when it all fits together so well...come on out and join us this week, won't you?

2012 365 #81 - the sky is the limit

This is the second card that I made for the SCS challenge - the sky is the limit challenge...the paper is scrap from my last couple of projects...love it and will be sad when this piece is gone...only a little tiny bit left :(  but can't complain too much cuz it is one of the ones that I won in a prize pack...trying to use all of the scraps up...for everything....

2012 365 #80 - daffodil baby

I tried to play with splitcoast stampers VSN challenge that the girls' over at Shopping our Stash were participating in all weekend...it looks like so much fun and some great challenges were set out...I did this card for the poem challenge, but for some reason, I just can't get my pictures to load on SCS...I am such a technology loser...this card was to represent the daffodil in the challenge...

2012 365 #79 - you light up my lawn

The Opus Gluei Poohbas set up a challenge this week called Branching out...trees and nature and green and the likes if you get my drift.  I was a little behind on this card, not for lack of effort, but for completing the wrong challenge...anyway, the card two weeks from now is a cutie! I just received this garden gnome set last night at my final stamp club meeting and I couldn't sleep all night trying to think of how I could work this into the branching out challenge...then I re-read what the challenge required and I figure I put in quite a few elements on this simplistic and whimsical card - green, wood grain background, spring like nature gnomes, some clouds and some grass...everything but the trees...I think garden gnomes are the cutest little things going...even my kids were gnomes on Halloween (see this post)...so come on out and show us you projects this week...would love to see them!

2012 365 #77 - Addie

This is one of my favorite pictures of my niece and I have been wanting to scrapbook it for years (she is almost 4 now), but I didn't want to take it off my fridge cuz it makes me smile...I followed sketch #198 from Creative Scrappers for it and I am entering it in the Scrapbook & Cards today for the colour suite challenge - pinks and purples...I am not a fan of working with purple, but this picture called out for it and it was the perfect challenge to do it for...all of the papers except the main piece are scraps from the scrap pile and previous projects...

2012 365 #74 - Lou and Em

I received a prize in the mail today from Artful Delight and I was so excited to open it up and see what was inside...and let me tell you, it was AWESOME!  I decided that I would use the supplies Leeanne sent to me to complete my scrapbook page for their March challenge...partly cuz I was excited to have new supplies and partly cuz I am trying to apply for their design team and wanted the girls there to see what I could do with some random supplies that are sent my way...I inked the white paper with some Tim Holtz distress inks over a circle template (well a piece of plastic ribbon, but close enough to a template for me ;) and splattered some mists around the block...other than those few supplies and the little gems on the butterflies, the rest was in the goodie box...thanks for looking and thanks for the supplies...loved them and can't wait to see what else I can come up with for them...

2012 365 #73 - sprinkled with fun

I think I got all of the themes for this weeks challenge over at Shopping our Stash on one card...dry embossing around the edges of the image (however very faint in the picture) and on the flag, heat embossing on the cupcake top (sprinkles) and bottom (music notes) and a meljens image...plus I popped out all the pieces with my stylus to make them more rounded (I double layered the image), so it looks really cool in real life...and used all scraps too...which is the best part...so come on over and join us this week...pull out those old and neglected embossing tools and lets see what you can do!
