2012 365 #119 - flower thanks

this week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is a challenge to use up some of those hoarded flowers hiding in your crafting area...I made mine on the Cricut with some scrap papers that I had lying around in my scrap box...slowly trying to empty that out slowly but surely....I made the jar from a piece of packaging from some stamps that I was organizing this weekend...so come on out and use up some of those precious flowers you have hiding in your closets, on your desk, in a basket or in the paper bag still from the craft store!!!

2012 365 #118 - Bingo Bottom line

this is the last bingo card that I am making for the Shopping our Stash bingo birthday celebration...I made 8 of them from the bingo card...not quite my 12 card goal, but it was a busy week...I made this card for a friend of ours...we are going to his retirement dinner tonight...hard to make a card look masculine when one of the items on the card is pink and jewels, but I tried...got them in there and the stars and fabric (the little pocket came with a gift card that I received at Christmas from the Gap) and a couple of tags to round it out (even snuck some pink under the little tag and used pink bling to anchor it)...the gems are supposed to look like fireworks, but they just look busy to me...stamped the while you were out tag with retired all over to make the point and that is all she wrote...it is kind of fugly, but hey...that is what you get sometimes...

2012 365 #117 - monsters across the middle

the Birthday Bash at Shopping our Stash is still on this week and I thought I would try out another card from the card...this one is across the middle...monsters, orange, pin and sentiment...I love monsters and sure do enjoy playing with those stamps...tried my hand at watercolouring with my Tim Holtz markers...not sure if I am a fan or if the paper I chose to watercolour on was a good choice, but it was an experiment and I am using my stuff up, so it can't be all bad...have you played yet?

2012 365 #115 - Sew What???

This week at the Opus Gluei the Poohbahs have us sewing...I am not a good sewer, but I do love the effect...so I tried...no straight stitching on this card, but I still like the effect that it came out with...the end of school and dance are coming up and I need tons of thank you cards, so this will be the start of the pile...just must make sure not to give this one the a sewing teacher ;)  play along, won't you??

2012 365 #116 - SOS Bingo

okay...the Shopping our Stash birthday bingo is still on and I thought I would do another attempt on the card...but I wasn't thinking too swiftly and I did another down the "B" by accident instead of going across the top...oh well...my goal is to do a card for each day in the 14 day celebration anyway and that would mean that I would need two repeats from the bingo card anyway (cuz there are only 12 combinations that meet our requirements)...so here is the first of the repeats...I think I will do the other one next Saturday for some consistency (bwah aha aha hahha ...no consistency in my world!!)...have you joined in the fun yet?

2012 365 #114 - bing "O"

I made this card following the "O" column of the Shopping our Stash bingo card...the flower was one that we made as a demo at a crop that I didn't really like the way the colours in the fabric were...thought I could make it have a little more pizazz by embossing the background scrap paper and adding some ink to try and blend the fabric colours a little more....pick a column off the card and join in the fun!!!

2012 365 #101 - tea party

This week's Shopping our Stash Challenge is to use three or more designer papers...I cut the teapots and cups out of paper, have cross stitch beige paper for the background...cut out squares on an angle to make the "table cloth" and topped the table cloth with some cut out border papers to fancy it up a little...this is a good project to use up scraps, so why not come out and join in the fun this week...

2012 365 #109 -Towel animals

this is the last page I finished for National Scrapbook day yesterday...It was a busy one with 5 cards, 4  1-page layouts and 1 2-page layout...phew, an effective and efficient use of cropping time...and a good lunch too...I will totally do that crop again...there weren't that many people and we all had lots of space and good lighting...it all went well until the end of the night when one of the ladies running it got stuck in the elevator with a bunch of totes that she was helping to bring up the stairs for people...so glad it wasn't me!

2012 365 #108 - oo0h fudge!

Lauren was the happiest kid ever when we came upon this little confectionary store in Skagway and told her she could pick a fudge flavour...that girl is a mint chocolate chip fanatic, so her choice was easy...Emily had to have a sample of every kind they had to make a decision...Lauren smiled all the way back to the cruise ship and then dove into that box...I think that may have been her favorite part of the trip???

2012 365 #107 -BEAR!

when we were at the Mendenhall Glacier observation centre, we literally ran into a bear...my oldest, Lauren had legs that turned to jello and was ready to faint. My youngest, Emily wanted to pet it...which kid do you choose?  Luckily there were 4 of us adults...two for each kid and rescues accomplished...

2012 365 #106 - sumdum glacier

this is a picture of the girls and myself standing on the deck of the cruise ship coming into Sumdum Glacier in Hokum Bay, the entrance of Tracy Arm Alaska...the wind chill on the boat was fierce for August, but once we stopped moving, the temperatures were fabulous...nothing but sunshine that day, which is supposedly quite unusual for that area...great day for taking pictures and observing the gorgeous landscape.

2012 365 #105 - grafitti hill

this is grafitti hill in skagway, alaska...you see it as soon as you come into alaska on the cruise lines...these are painted rock faces all away along the ports showing all the cruise lines that come into the ports each season...it is huge and extremely cool!

2012 365 #100 - garden party

The poohbas over at the Opus Gluei set a challenge this week to make something gardeny---gates, gardens, outdoor tea parties etc...my card is of rewards reaped from a garden (not mine of course...I can't grow stuff worth beans....my flowers never look as nice as ones coloured with markers)...so grab your stamps and create...or anything else you have to create with...we are not picky!

2012 365 #104 - boy birthday

this card is made from scraps and leftovers in a race with my mom to come up with the first masculine card...I beat her, but hers is more masculine...mine was much quicker...

2012 365 #102 - balloon birthday

this card was made with a little fun and experimenting with some ink...just with scrap paper and some leftovers at my table from the crop we were at all day...nothing special...just kind of a fun experiment...the balloon is in three-d but it is hard to see from the picture...

2012 365 #102 - be amazing

this card is the second in a series...the first will be posted tomorrow with the opus gluei challenge...be sure to check it out and play along...this one was done with all scraps left over from all the pages I got done today....

2012 365 #99 - mother's day card

the challenge over at Shopping our Stash is mother's day or girlie...one of my favorite challenges...sooo many girls in our family and I always flock to girlie cards...masculine sends me for a loop, but girlie, now we are talking!!!   I could make hundreds of them without even having to think about it...this one was made sacrificing three brand new sheets of paper...I know...it hurt to cut into sheets of new stuff, especially pretty stuff like this, but it has been hoarded in my craft room for over three years (probably more like 5), and it was time to use it.  No point in having pretty if it is going to sit on a shelf for no one to see...so proud of myself on this one cuz it is fancy paper...glitter, shiny and iridescent...and all on one card...I also cut out extra flowers and butterflies and popped them up to have a 3-d type card to match the puffy-ness of those ribbon roses...love those...I have some scraps left over, so my next few posts will probably match quite well :) cuz I am all about using up the scraps these days!!! No leftovers for me!!!  So come on out and show us your girlie side...whatever that may be!!!
