Glen Canyon Bridge crossing the Colorado River in the Coconino County, Arizona (United States)

"The Colorado River without dams is useless to anyone ... I've seen all the wild rivers I ever wanted to see."

Mike O'Callaghan - Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge across the Colorado River near Las Vegas, between Nevada and Arizona (United States)

Standing on the edge
Of the Hoover Dam
I'm on the center line
Right between two states of mind
And if the wind from the traffic
Should blow me away

From this altitude it will come back to you
And do you know the time?
All that's left of me is slight insanity
What's on the right, I don't know

Alcantara Bridge over the Tagus River in Alcántara, Cáceres (Spain)

Viaduct over the La Baells Reservoir near Berga, Barcelona (Spain)

Pus, per més que li donàs
un rei son ceptre de plata
i son mantell d’escarlata
i son tron enjoiellat,
fins de ser rei deixaria
per ses trobes amoroses
i ses muntanyes frondoses
lo Gaiter del Llobregat.

La Gaznata Viaduct over the Burguillo Reservoir in El Tiemblo, Ávila (Spain)

“… If the spans of the arches do not exceed 25 metres, as was the case with the Gaznata viaduct, we assemble each of the trusses in a single piece and raise them using rigs fitted to a mast until they are in position. (…) The elimination of falsework almost always results in significant savings in the cost of the bridge.”

designer of this bridge

Railway Bridge over the La Peña Reservoir in Santa María de la Peña, Huesca (Spain)

Déjame, Muerte, que llore
pues los padres trabajaron
unos campos de Aragón,
hoy, eriales solitarios;
déjame que los recuerde
y espere verlos un año,
campos fragantes de lluvia,
trigo, cebada y cilantro,
una tierra que fue cielo,
y hoy, paraíso olvidado,
nada más que un dios sin fieles
al que nadie va a adorarlo.
