I am doing one post for two meme’s..stay with me here, I have never done this before! So Pink Saturday and FALL FINDINGS, here it is!
First, I participated in an awesome swap called Fall Findings, hosted by Karen at Some Days are Diamonds. We were to take a cigar box and ‘FALL’ it up..I was so excited to wrap mine up and get it sent I forgot to take pictures DUH, but I hope my partner Diane at Nellie's Nest enjoys what I put together..that said, I received a beautiful decorated cigar box from Sherry at Blessings from our Nest. OH MY. I opened each and every thing carefully, getting a pressie in the mail to me is heaven and to be enjoyed slowly and carefully. I did remember to take a few pictures of my treasures from Sherry
Quite a stash, would you not agree?!
buttons, tags, a gorgeous hang tag, some beautiful fall leaves, a cute little leaf shaped dish with the cutest bird filled with Washington State acorns, a pumpkin candle, black ric rac, two little stuffed pumpkins, some old blue thread, a lovely paperweight, two lovely table runners, one is on my coffee table, perfect! Last but not least, a yard of the prettiest fall fabric since Sherry knows I sew. I was so thrilled!
And the nicest card from Sherry. Sherry, thank you so much and I am so glad you were given me as your swap partner! I will always treasure my goodies..
I am also linking this to Pink Saturday. Be sure to visit our sweet hostess Beverly at How Sweet the Sound who works so hard at putting our Pink Saturday’s together each week. Please visit some of my pink sistas. And since this is the last weekend in October a last reminder that this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you are late or in need of a mammogram, please get it! I have an appt to see my doctor at the end of November and will get my mammogram shortly after..
Have a wonderful week!
Kathy at Creative Home Expressions is having a giveaway to celebrate her upcoming birthday..Look at what she is giving away
A Coffee Diva! Contest ends on November 1st, so sign up right away!
This is a lot of fun and I haven’t participated for a while, but thought I would join in again..
Ten questions are asked each Wednesday, the trick (or treat) here is the questions are based on a famous person or persons..this week is STEPHEN KING~
Head on over to Wednesday Wickedness and join in!
Ok for this week’s questions:
1. “I tend to scare myself…”
When was the last time you scared yourself? It scares me that I can’t remember!
2. “Time heals all wounds…”
What was the longest it took you to recover from an illness, injury or surgery? I am disabled now, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue..no recovery and you know what, THAT scares me.
3. “Your first impulse is to share good news. Your second is to club someone over the head with it…”
What was the last good news you had to share? We found out last weekend that we are going to become first time Grandparents. Our son and his wife are due with the little peanut around May 30, 2011. We are ecstatic to put it mildly!
4. “When it comes to the past, we all stack the deck…”
Is there something in your past you speak highly of that was not so great while you were going through it? I think and speak often of how simple times were as young marrieds with young sons, life seemed simpler then, but it wasn’t an easy time, either.
5. “Do you drink? Of course! I just said I was a writer!..”
What do you need to drink to do? Nothing..that I can think of offhand anyway..
6. “If you liked being a teenager, then there’s something really wrong with you…”
What did you like about being a teenager? Not much, hard time.
7. “Nobody likes a clown at midnight…”
What do you like at midnight? To be asleep!
8. “It is the tale, not he who told it…”
Who is your favorite teller of tales or jokes? My sweet and funny husband.
9. “The trust of the innocent is the liar’s most useful tool…”
Were you ever conned or fooled into a scam? Not that I know of..
10. “If fear cannot be articulated, then it can’t be conquered…”
What do you fear? Not getting any better, and lack of finances at times..
I decided this week to join Angela at WV Treasures and participate in Show and Tail, a fairly new weekly meme.. Lord knows I have enough four leggers here to chat about for a long, long time!
Starting off, let me introduce you to Gracie. Gracie is our 7 year old Dalmatian. I grew up with Dalmatians, they truly are not for the faint of heart..I never understood why they never put a disclaimer on the 101 Dalmatian movies..”Not for the faint of heart”. These are big, strong dogs, could easily knock over a 20 year old, much less little kids..Many of them, including our Gracie, are quirky and alpha..Definitely not a good dog for a house of little ones, but fine for us old folks..She may be a goofball, but she is our goofball!
Next, let me introduce you to sweet India. India is a lab mix, she belonged to our oldest son, Dan, and ended up with us. She is a little over 8 years old and is the little mama of the group..always has a stuffed ‘baby’ in her mouth and will go get one out of the box if asked. India is afraid of the wind..and of course we live in a wind tunnel. for a few years we tried to medicate her, now we just try to help her through it..turn on music or the TV..anything to mask the sound of the Wind.
Lastly, but not least, is Halo, our little man. Halo is a shorthaired dachshund and is 8 years old..Halo originally belonged to our younger son’s ex girlfriend and as a pup spent a lot of time at our house..they split up and we lose the dog, lol…well she called me 4 years ago and asked if we could take him, she just could not care for him any longer. We jumped in the car and home he came with us and we have not looked back. He is my lap dog and he loves to ride in the car. Last winter we took a car trip to IL to visit my sis and Halo went with us. He loved hotel rooms and thought he was the king I tell ya..and stubborn! OH MY. When I go away or we both go away, when we get home he gives us what I call the STINK EYE. he acts happy to see us, but then it starts..he is just so mad..takes him a couple days to come around and all is forgiven..what stubbornness but we love it.
Well, that’s it for this week..these dogs live the life, I tell ya!
Keep checking back, I will be adding more as I find them to post..love me some giveaways!
Here is one from Judi at Green Fairy Quilts. She is giving away this beautiful fat quarter set! Deadline to enter is Monday Oct. 25th so hurry!
She is also giving away a $30 gift certificate to her shopping website at Green Fairy Quilts…

Oh me, oh my….welcome to my Pink Saturday..we are on cloud nine..but more about that a bit later…
First, a huge thank you to our sweet Beverly for hosting our Pink Saturdays for us..Head on over to say hi to her at How Sweet the Sound and also to visit some of our other wonderful Pinkies
We found out this past Sunday that we are going to be first time Grandparents..
Now, we don’t know yet if it’s a baby boy or a baby girl, and we don’t care for anything but he or she having good health and safe pregnancy for our sweet daughter in love. Anyway, I don’t have any special pictures for this week, so I thought I would paste BABY pictures…
Ok Ok that’s enough for now..Our little blessing is due around May 30, 2011..
We are asked to visit a Pink Saturday blogger new to us each week..this week I would like to introduce you to Donnie at New Blessings Everyday. She is fairly new to Pink Saturdays and I know she would love you to visit!
Well, have a wonderful weekend and week ahead. Blessings!
Recently I was contacted by CSN Stores to do a product review, my choice. I picked a Pizzelle maker and a Silicone bake ware set which are on their way to my home. I can’t wait to use them and review, so stay tuned!

Ha! Bet you thought I was going to talk about friends, friendships, fun but mushy stuff today. Nope. Keepers!
But first things first, thanks to our sweet Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for being our hostess each and every Saturday. It’s a lot of work to get all these gals together each week, stop by and say hey to Beverly!
Now, back to my keepers..here is what I am talking about today
Now the scoop on why these are important to me..I sew, mostly aprons but other items also, and I use a LOT of ric rac and lace. LOTS. I found Pam on ETSY, she is from Great Britain and she designs and sells these keepers in pdf form for ME to print and cut out..then I wrap my goodies around them and it helps me to keep things more in order than ric rac and laces just tossed in a box.
You can check out Pam’s handiwork at From the Craft Room. She designs not just keepers, but also gift tags, paper dolls, etc… that you can print and cut out..It’s fun to take some glitter and ribbon and embellish them also..so go check out her shop and tell her I sent you!
Each week we are asked to spotlight a Pink Saturday blogger who is new to US..meaning ME. I would like to introduce you to Denise at All Over Roses. Denise is not brand new to me, but I have just recently become acquainted with her and her beautiful blog..She also lives not far from my son and I plan to go visit her when I get nearby next time..Tell her I sent you!
And don’t forget that since it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month any orders from my Mary Kay website will get you 10% off and 10% total sale to the American Cancer Society. Free shipping too!
Have a great Pink Saturday and you are all KEEPERS♥
I have not participated in Meet Me Monday for a few weeks, blame it on the last end of a long, hot summer and not feeling very well some days but think I will give it a go this week.
It’s always fun to meet new friends, both in person and online. I treasure my in person and online friends so much..words just can’t say!

This week’s questions are:

2. If you are stranded on an Island, what 3 things would you need to have with you (not including humans or electronic devices)? A good book, the bible, and sunscreen!
3. Where is the farthest you have ever traveled to? Europe, have been to Paris, London and Copenhagen
4. Do you live in a house, trailer or apartment, etc.? House

Greetings! I have been visiting my sis and hubs since the 21st and will be here until the 12th..three weeks..It didn’t sound so long when I made my flight reservations, lol..Hopefully they aren’t too tired of me, and I know I am fine even though I am a bit homesick, missing my hubs and dogs, and my folks, too.
Cindy lives here in NW Illinois in farm country..they are not farmers but the land all around them is either corn or soybeans. And..about this time every year it happens. Always. Every year. BUGS. Box Elder bugs, Asian Beetle bugs, bug bug bug…
I have become quite good at vacuuming the suckers but they still buzz us..they don’t bite or whatever, but this city girl is still kinda creeped out! Yesterday I decided to name them..Squishy, Stinky, Squidgy, Skeet, Stinky, Stupid, Squiggy, etc..I figure we all have to live together in this farmy place!
Here they are out on the house..somehow they get in, not a lot but enough to BUG me, lol..
Heading for home this next Tuesday the 12th..So miss my hubs and dogs…three weeks sounded good when I left home, but its a long time…Dogpaw Carl has handled the the home front well, but we miss each other..Absence DOES make the heart grow fonder♥
Here are a few pictures of my trip so far..
