Christmas Cardinal

I wanted to make a non cutesy Christmas card so I borrowed this SU Christmas cardinal set from my Mom and colored him up last night. When I saw featured stamper Pams card here I knew it was the one I wanted to case. I love when that happens! I kept the layout but left off the border punch. I really like her ribbon treatment but I didnt have enough room on my image so I used a buttony bow instead. I also used pearls instead of rhinestones brads and changed the placement.
Busy day today! I HAVE to get started wrapping presents and we have our Christmas play tonight where Santa will drop by for a visit! The kids are being extra good today!LOL!! Have a great day!!

Santa, Horse and Pup

Todays featured stamper is Michele. I chose Michele's card here. Its been awhile since I played with my Whipper Snapper stamps so I chose one of her WS cards to case and changed the image. I kept the simple layout since this image is so large but I flipped it and added dp. I punched a half circle out of the image so my big snowflake buttony bow would fit. I also added a little piercing in the corner. This image was fun to color but let me tell you it took me forever to color!LOL!! Hubby was watching UFC last night so I colored it while I pretended to watch the fight with him!LOL! Have a great day!

Long card Ivy

I was going through my archives today and found this card I made last week that I forgot to share. I made this card for Mercy's sketch challenge from last week and Fridays long card challenge. I already had this image from The Greeting Farm colored up so I had to dig through my dp and find some that matched. I found this piece of polka dot dp from a stack from MME. I usually always find my dp first then color my image but since I was totally intimidated with this image I colored it first!LOL! I dont know why I was so scared to color it now! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving full of family friends and fun!! Im off to get some sleep so I can be ready to shop til I drop tomorrow!LOL!! Have a great one!

Santa Ian

Finally I can upload!! I tried 3 times yesterday to upload this card!UGHH!! For my card I used last weeks mojo sketch but left off the circle sentiment since. I went flipping through some of my dp and ran across this wassail dp from Basic Grey and thought the present dp was perfect for Santa Ian. I love this wassail dp b/c it has sahara sand in it and I NEVER use that color so I added some sponging to dp and cs. At least it get used one time a year!LOL! I colored Ian using copics and added some sparkly fluff from eclectic paperie to his suit and hat. I also went over his shoes and belt with sakura clear glaze pen and his belt with gold. I think I'll give this card to Bray's teacher for Christmas since Bray says Ian looks like him!LOL!

Button Bear Wassailing

Are you tired of Christmas cards yet?!?LOL! Im down to 2 Christmas cards before Im finally finished!! I pulled out this retired SU set Button bear for this card. I liked how his bow kinda matched the dp I wanted to use. I colored the bear, hat, and candy cane using gamsol magic. I outlined the bear using copic cool gray no.1 marker. Instead of paper for the tabs I used kraft taffeta ribbon. I added a button b/c I had to!! How can I not use a button on a button bear card?!?!LOL!
This is another teacher card so I made another candle to go with it. Im lovin these candles!! We took the kids last night to do their shopping and it was so cute watching them pick out gifts for us (but of course we couldnt peek!LOL!), each other, and their grandparents. They had a Secret Santa giftshop set up at the school with gifts from $0.50-$10.00 for the kids to shop out but they sold everything by lunch yesterday!LOL! I thought it was a great idea though the teachers helped the kids pick out gifts and they wrapped them at school. We're going to try one more time today to make some candy. The weather is supposed to cooperate today!LOL! Have a great day!

Noel Teacher gift

I spent yesterday working on Teacher gifts since my kids get out of school on Friday for the Christmas holidays. I found these candles at our dollar store on sale for $0.75! They had santas cookies, cinnamon, and christmas holly scents so I got 2 of each since I have 6 teacher gifts to make. This first one is Santas cookies and I paired it with last years Dashing dp. I used the ornmanent from the Noel stamp from Big on Christmas and popped it up.
I made a matching card using Taylors sketch again. I love this sketch so you will be seeing a couple more!LOL! I used the Noel stamp from Big on Christmas and colored with copics. I used the horizontal slot punch and added river rock ds ribbon to the image. I paired the image with the Dashing dp to match the candle and sponged all edges using river rock ink.

We didnt get to make candy yesterday b/c it wasnt the right weather so we are going to try again Wed. The weather has been so crazy lately. It was freezing one week, raining the next and this week it will be in the 70's all week!! It was 78 degrees today!! No wonder everyone around here is sick!LOL! Have a great day!

House Mouse America

Todays featured stamper is Cards by America. Her gallery is full of House mouse images and I have to admit Im not a big fan of the House Mouse images b/c I dont like mice!!LOL! My skin crawls thinking about them!LOL! A friend of mine sent me this image and its just been sitting and sitting waiting to be colored. I finally decided today to pull it out and color it and I have to tell you it was fun to color!! I cased Americas card here. I changed everything on the card but kept them similar. I used Taylors sketch 46 for my layout. I colore the image using gamsol magic and added sakura silver gel pen to the bows for some sparkle. Im not sure what the name of my image is since it was from a friend. Im not even sure if its supposed to be a Christmas image or not!LOL! But it is today!! I made this card for my oldest daughters teacher. I made a candle to match that I will post later.

Im off to go to Mamas where we are going to be making candy today. I love making my Granny's fudge and peanut brittle!! Then I have to work on some more Christmas cards I still need 10!! So except to see more Christmas cards!LOL!!

Peppermint Lily

Ive been trying to go through my Christmas sets and make at least one card w/each set. Last week Tori posted a card using Dress up Lily and I totally forgot about the Santa hat and cany cane w/her!! I went searching through my Dp to pair w/her and found this peppermint dp Ive had for about 3yrs now. So Lily and the peppermint paper have been sitting in my inspiration station just waiting to be used!LOL! While browsing through the flickr gallery for todays inspiration challenge I found this Peppermint dream ornament. So Lily and my peppermint dp finally got their chance to be put on a card! I added a candy cane button in her hand and added diamond tulip puffy paint to her Santa hat. Isnt she the cutest?!?! I used Jens sfytt for my layout. I try not to miss Jens sketches they are always so fun!!

I love this sentiment from Christmas greeting by Treehouse stamps. I think I will use this card for my church family's Christmas cards.

Frosty Day Snowman

I have a triple card for you this morning. Todays OCC snowman/snowflake challenge. Jens sfytt and todays inspiration. I was insired by the Festive forest wrapping paper it reminded me of the frosty day dp. Im really happy with this card and seem to be back in my stamping "groove"! Yayyy!!

I love this adorable Whipper snapper image fresh snowfall but I love all whipper snapper images!LOL! I colored the snowman using gamsol magic. I added waterfall stickles to parts of the snowman and snow. I used my circle nesties to cut and emboss the circles. The snowman is popped up on dimensionals. This was a really fun sketch to work with! I added a paper pierced frame and ribbon with a pumpkin pie brad from Pink Hedgehog Papercrafts for my embellishments.

We are going to see Bolt today and then pull out our Christmas decorations. Have a great day!!

Merry Penguin

Im not so good at the limited supply challenge but I gave it a go today!LOL! I realized after I had finished my card I still cheated!! I was only supposed to use 3 layers! Oops!! Oh well!! Throw me in jail challenge police!LOL!
Todays challenge is to use an animal image (no more than 3 stamps) and you have to use pink in your card. No more than 3 embellishments or 3 layers. I remembered the 3 embellishment, stamps , and pink part! I pulled out my neglected Merry Muffin set. I love this set it has some of my fave Stampendous images and the cutest sentiments in it! I pulled out this fun KI memories dp b/c it has pink to pair with my penguin. I colored the penguin cupcake using gamsol magic and outlined with copic cool gray no.1 marker. I added dew drops and ribbon from Joanns for my embellishments.
Hope yall had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday!! We had a great day!! I even went shopping this morning with Mama something we've never done before and of course she went reluctantly until she found out Staples had a monitor for $100!LOL! Have a great day!

Christmas Wish List

Congrats to Elizabeth todays featured stamper!! I cased Elizabeths card here. I was inspired by the notebook paper to use this Make a list set by Treehouse stamps. My super creative Mom thought of this set and I LOVE it!! I think its genius!LOL!! I always have family call asking what to get the kids for Christmas so instead I will have each of the kids make their own list to send it out and bypass all the phone calls!LOL!! This is Alanas list and I think its adorable how she misspelled some of things. I think its a great keepsake! There are several other options for lists in this set....more sneak peeks to come later!! Come join us for the release party on Friday Nov. 28.

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow...

Olivia wants snow for Christmas!LOL! Today my Mom is hosting the color challenge since Ash is getting ready to go out of town so of course I had to play along! The colors for today are cameo coral, riding hood, red, choc chip, and vanilla. Well I changed the vanilla to white (just not a big vanilla fan!) I also added in some close to cocoa. The colors today were perfect also for the inspiration challenge. I used this photo for my inspiration. For my layout I used Taylors tecc43.
Doesnt Olivia look cozy!?!?LOL! I colored Olivia using gamsol magic and outlined with copic cool gray no.1 marker. I stamped the sentiment "let it snow" 3xs on the close to cocoa strip. I stamped the sentiment in the middle first added a comma and then stamped the sentiment on each side of the middle sentiment. I added two felt flurries and a coral brad to the end of the strip which ended up covering the 3rd let it snow but oh well!LOL! I added a quickutz photo corner and chocolate brads from Pink Hedgehop Papercrafts (LOVE THEM!!)
We have a family dinner today so I have to start cooking (yippeee!LOL!) and get the kids ready! Have a great day!

Christmas Favorites

Happy hump day!! Heres my card for todays sketch challenge. As soon as I seen the sketch I knew I wanted to use the curvy label nestabilities. Mama just got these and I took them from her to play with while she was gone shes expecting them back tommorrow (insert evil grin here!). I usually dont view the gallery until AFTER Ive made my card for many reasons. Usually if I see someone else has used an idea I was thinking of I will go a different direction or I end up casing someone not really meaning too. KWIM?!?! Well I decided to peek at the gallery today and saw quite a few cards using this curvy label punch but I was determined to use it anyway! I also used some of my new goodies from Jacksonbelle (wassail dp and ribbon).

I pulled out my Treehouse stamps Christmas favorites set. I noticed this stocking was uninked and I couldnt have that!LOL! Im really glad I did! This is such a cute image and I love it with the Basic Grey wassail dp. I stamped the stocking twice onto Pti white and colored using gamsol magic. I cut out the heel, toe, and top of the stocking and popped up for paper tole. I also used some of my new Coordinations cs on my card! LOVE it!! This card almost ended up in the trash a couple of times but Im glad I stuck with it! Im pretty happy with it now! Have a great night!!

Meowy Christmas

I love this adorable stamp from High hopes! Well I love cats period and this cat is just super cute!! Todays color challenge is kraft, red and black. I just got this super yummy ribbon in today from Jacksonbelle embellishments (super fast shipping!!) so I had to include it! This is the first time Ive ordered with them and I was very impressed! Thanks Lindsey!
I love coloring on kraft paper especially with images with white. Its so pretty! I colored the image using gamsol magic. I added sakura silver pen to the hat. This weeks HH challenge is to use brads and buttons. I added some silver MM glittered brads and a button (from Walmart) on top of my felt flurry.
I had to take my pic outside. My light box is having a bad day!LOL! I'll be posting later afternoon again all this week. Is it Thanksgiving holidays yet?!?LOL! Have a great day!

Ski Slope Hanna

Todays featured stamper is Kendra. I cased Kendras card here. I love this Hanna image! I pulled out my ski slope dp to pair with Hanna and used the colors from the dp to color the image using gamsol magic. Dontcha love the red boots!?!LOL! Okay so I have to explain this. I knew I wanted Hannas clothes to be red and brown but I couldnt decide what color I wanted to color the boots and after I had already colored her hair, tree trunk, and skirt brown I needed some red to balance it out a little. So I went with red boots and while I was coloring her red boots I thought about Footloose and Ariels red boots!LOL! So now Ive been singing Footloose songs in my head this morning!LOL!
Okay back on to the card now....I outlined the image using copic cool gray no. 1. I added some stardust stickles to the star and snow. I kept the layout really simple since the image is so large. I punched two washers using 1/2" circle punch added some bling (it looks like one of them shifted a little). You know Hanna has to have some bling! Have a great day!!

Dp Inspired Tree

Congrats to Wendy todays featured stamper!! Wendy has a beautiful butterfly filled gallery but I decided to case her Season of friendship card here. Ive had this set for about a month and it hasnt seen ink yet! Its been awhile since I made a card with no coloring.
I used a piece of KI company dp (last years Christmas) to inspire my colors. I had to had some sparkle so I went over the tree and branches with stardust stickles and added stickles to the snowflake centers. I love making cards with non traditional Christmas colors especially snowflake cards!
We took the kids to the fair last night and they had a BLAST!! They were so cute! My cheeks were hurting last night from laughing and smiling so much. A great feeling!LOL! I ended up having to ride with Alana some b/c she was too tall for the kiddie rides but not quite brave enough to ride the bigger rides by herself!LOL! Man I forgot how the rides jerk you around so much! I hurt this morning!LOL! We were riding the ride Himalya which used to be called the Thunderbolt and I was telling Alana that mine and Daddys first date was the fair and he held my hand and kissed me on the cheek while we were on the Thunderbolt. The look in her eyes was sooo cute!LOL!! But it was kinda funny riding the ride with our daughter. Have a great day!

Stamps: Season of friendship
Ink: basic gray, orchid opulence, pixie pink, almost amethyst, baja breeze
Paper: textured orchid opulence, baja breeze, almost amethyst, pti white

Holly Cupcake

Im back and feeling much better this morning! I made this quick card before we head out the door for our last football game. After the game we are going to a local arts and crafts fair.

As soon as I seen the OCC challenge this morning I knew I had to use my Treehouse Christmas cupcake image. Since I used a cupcake image I decided to use Taylors cupcake sketch challenge for my layout.

I colored the cupcake using gamsol magic. I also used the copic cool gray no1 marker for shadows. I pulled out some dp and textured cs from last Christmas I got from Walmart. I cant remeber the name of it! I added silver sheer ribbon and silver brads for embellishments.

Heres a peek at the inside of the card too...

Fluffles cracks me up...

...so I thought he would be perfect for todays get cracking challenge. Ive had this crackled background for about 2 yrs now and I think Ive used it once!LOL! I bought b/c I love the cracked glass look but Ive never been able to get it "just right". I colored fluffles using gamsol magic and stamped over the image with the crackled background inked in close to cocoa. I also stamped the background on the kiwi kiss and pacific point panels. All edges are sponged with close to cocoa. I added silver brads, kiwi kiss ribbon, and the new felt flurries for my embelshiments. I love the felt flurries!!
Well we're off to get ready for trick or treating since our town is doing it tonight b/c we have a football game tommorrow night. Im ssooooo ready for this month to be over with so I can finally breathe!LOL! Happy Halloween!!
