ETI /Ann Butler Designs blog hop

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to ETI/Ann Butler's designs mutual blog hop.
You most probably came from Einat's blog here, and if not- begin with Ann Butler's blog here.
For this hop the Ann Butler's team members were asked to make a project with both ETI and Ann's products and this is my share for the hop.

I made the double sided acrylic pendant using Ann Butler's Unity Faux Quilting stamp, Ann's Crafter's Canyon ink, Ann's Sunshine, Aquamarine and Lime Light Crafter's inks re- inkers and Ann's Earth Safe Finish Iridescents Lagoon and Orchid paints. From the ETI side I used Easy Mold Silicone Putty, Easy Cast Clear Casting Epoxy and Amber transparent resin dye.
So here is one side of my finished necklace:

I used Tim Holtz acrylic fragment and stamped one 2'' Ann Butler's Unity Faux Quilting stamp with Canyon ink. Then I heat embossed the stamped image with clear embossing Clearsnap powder.
The elephant was made using a mold I made with putty with metal piece I wanted to cast. When my mold was dry I mixed Easy Cast resin with copper micro beads and Amber DIE pigment and after 24 hours I got this  beauty. I  painted the elephant with Ann Butler's ESF Orhid paint and  glued it over the stamped side with liquid resin.

And this is the back side ofr the same piece:

This side was covered with Ann Butler's Crafter's inks reinkers and then heat embossed with clear powder.
The face was molded and casted in the same way as the elephant. Then I painted it with Ann's ESF Lagoon paint and glued a bit out of the center.
I hope  tha you like my project and now you can visit the next designer on the list: Larissa

Alter your napkin holder from shadow box

This is my alteration of Canvas Corps shadow box that was brown and not fit to my kitchen/rooms. So as I was in need of napkin holder and the size was just perfect, I decided to alter it to this " light vintage" piece using DIY paints and embossed paper. To make it durable I added a thick layer of clear resin over the paper.

Materials Used
1. Shadow box 8*8'' Stained wood-Canvas Corps
2. DIY Viridian paint- Tattered Angels
3. DIY Ivory paint- Tattered Angels
4.Embossed large floral ivory paper-Canvas Corps
5. Easy cast ETI resin
6. Water colors- Faber Castell DMC Gelatos
7. Crackle medium- DecoArt

Step by step instructions:

Step 1
Paint the shadow box with Viridian color and let it dry

Step 2
Cover the painted box with crackle medium and let it dry

Step 3
Paint over the dry crackle with Ivory paint. Try not to repeat over the already painted area if you want to get good crackles

Step 4
Cut a piece of ivory embossed floral paper to the size that cover the inside of the box. Glue it into the box. Water color the embossed florals with your colors of choice.

Step 5
Cover the colored box with a thick layer of ETI Clear cast resin and let it dry for at least 24 hours. Distress the edges of your painted box as much as you want to get this " old" look

Step 6
Put your favorite napkins inside and enjoy!

Wisdom of Nature with ARTplorations

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my first March ARTplorations post.
This is an art page/board/whatever we call it made with a lot of stencils' layers and one single hand molded and casted owl.
For the first layer I used Retro circles with acrylic glaze paints from ColorArte. The second layer of stencils is Confetti Circles with texture paste and the upper flowers are made with more texture paste  using Bold Florals stencil and more acrylic glazes from ColorArte.
Everything around was covered with layers of H2O ColorArte water colors and so were the very old stickers in ugly color. It gave me this wooden look with this mixture of glaze and water colors.
The owl is made with my own mold and casted with colored resin where I also  added  micro beads.
The whole page is about nature and the owl is the smartest one. So I called this piece WISDOM OF NATURE.

Here is our Mixed Media challenge for you for March and there are prizes to win if you play with us!

Lucky Makin's Clay necklace

 Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit us here again with my Makin's Clay Lucky necklace.
I think that anyone needs a bit of luck. And games, any kind of them, are the most common way to get some luck together with a lot of fun. So I made a fancy 3 colors only necklace with Makin's Clay using all possible techniques.
Supply list:
White
Black
Red

Tools:

Other products:
Stamps- Rubber Dance
Glaze- DecoArts
Acrylic paint- DecoArts
Jewelry parts and beads- craft shop

Let me show you all of them techniques  used today:
1. Use Ultimate  Clay Extruder with large square disk #28 (you can't  see the disk on this photos, sorry about it) with white and black Makin's Clay to make this " so called" chess game  board.
I used a piece of thin red clay that was rolled to #6 setting on  Makin’s Professional® Ultimate Clay Machine® and dry to make the base for all those extruded squares.

2.Make a free hand  game cube from black clay and making the dots with Makin’s Clay® Professional Clay Tools®  top as shown.

3.Stamp with black permanent ink over wet clay rolled with Makin's Clay roller.I used Rubber Dance stamp to make this playing card Queen image.

4. Stamp with bare stamp  into the wet white clay. I used Rubber Dance stamps again and in my final project the Bingo card was not used after all. But I did used the domino piece as you can see. All piece were hand cut with a cutter from Makin’s Clay® Professional Clay Tools® set.

5. Use  Makin's Clay small cutters of playing cards signs  from Mini Geo  cutters set to make the small pieces for the necklace. I didn't find the diamond shape(mess is my second name) in my cutters box, so I made it totally free  hand.

7. Make a mold  using a real chess game piece and cast  the chess game piece with black clay.

8.Cover all dry pieces with  glaze. The Domino piece dots were painted with black acrylic paint.
The cube dots were all painted with white acrylic inside the dots.

And this is my finished pieces added to a fancy multi strings necklace.
I added the word Lucky over the chess board with stickers and then covered the stickers with glaze again.
So are you Lucky? I hope you are and if not- make this necklace for some extra luck!

ETI Blog hop

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to our ETI BLOG HOP!
Today the whole line of fantastic designers  are going to show you all possible projects made with resin arts products.
And please comment in each an every blog as you can win this delicious prize too:
I hope you came from Heather's blog. If not- go to the first stop and begin the hop there!

So here is my project: I made the fancy recycled jewelry/specks organiser using  a few of ETI products.
I didn't make a whole tutorial, but I took some photos for some steps, just yo make it easy to see the process.
So this is a finished project.

Now lets see how it was done. First I painted this pretty old and already used Canvas Corps wooden tray with white paint using Earth Safe finishes Chalk It Up Whipped Cream paint. When it was dry I rolled the candle (the color is just what I had , you can use any color of candle as nobody is going to see it later).

Now I painted the " candled" tray with ESF Chalk It Up Rock Candy paint and then distressed it with sand paper. (This step is not shown here, but on the finished project only)

To make the sides pretty I used ESF Texture paste with Tim Holtz stencil and made it over all 4 sides. You need to do 2 sides and then to let them dry and to make two more sides if you don't want to mess the process.

Now it was a time for my ETI play.I didn't take any photos as those steps are easy and each and every of my previous tutorials made for ETI has the very same steps.
So first I casted Plaid molds with Easy Cast resin (mixing  for 2 minutes and then for one more minute in a new glass). I made 4 pieces to use inside my tray with this resin mix and some brown glitter. One single " clear" piece was made with  just a bit of light blue glitter. After almost 24 hours my pieces were hard and ready to use.
First I made a few die cuts using gold cardstock and MFT 4 small doilies dies. The die cuts were arranged inside the box . I added my 4 resin glitters pieces over the die cuts.
Now I mixed about 4 Oz of Easy Cast resin and just added it over the box spots. Some small beads were added randomly for the interest. I also glued the sequin ribbon over the tray with the very same ETI Easy Cast resin leftovers from the big glass. 24 hours later my fancy wooden tray was ready to use.

Here you can see the resin pieces and clear resin over those pieces.

And this is another look on my finished project.

And now to your next stop on the hop:

Gold is a new black: cast you golden jewelry

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my October project made for ETI blog.
This time I really messed at first, but then those lemons gave me a great lemonade.
So here is a story about the mess .
I wanted to make some amber color resin trinkets and beads and I was thinking about the amber part that I already casted in the past.
1.So I mixed a pretty large portion of Easy Cast Resin , like maybe total of 6 oz (3+3 of each part) and then in a second of  bad lighting I added Transparent Red dye into the whole mixture.

2.So now it was a kind of red and  you don't have much to do, but to put it into your molds and to think it over when it's dry.And you don't have a lot of time to pick your molds or to use your Mold release. You need to move and move fast. So I picked two molds that don't need  any release medium and just filled them with the  this red transparent resin.

3. After like 24 hours those pieces were out and in a great , still red shape.

4. But as this red was dull and not interesting I decided to try gold paint that I had in my stash.
A few were light and non seen. Few were too thick and not nice looking over the resin. And that it was like " BINGO": very old, maybe 8 years old Spanish  liquid gold paint and it was a HIT!
2 seconds to dry over resin pieces and look how gorgeous this golden coverage looks!
And just to add: I don't get any free products from this paint company. I didn't even know they are from Spain; I just Googled them. But after 3-4 tries with well known USA companies  this Spanish gold is  GOLD!

5. As a next step I just arranged my  red- gold beauties into some wearable/useful trinkets.
Some were made as pendants. Some were made into magnets. One was done into a staple book mark.
I also painted all metal parts I used with the very same  liquid gold and as you see it looks like a real thing.
Each piece here was glued with a small mix of the very same ETI Easy Cast Resin and I added the same clear resin into this trinket with white pearls on the bottom.

Let me show you a few of them :

 And some more:

And a few more:

Now that I know how to make this golden glaze over resin pieces, I am sure I will use all other pigments colors and will have a nice trinket collection to use with my future projects.

Make a happy Holidays tag with ETI

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new post made for ETI.
This time it's  my own " old new" technique : making molds from clear acrylic stamps and casting them with ETI resins.
So here is a finished tag I made with this technique:

First find a large Poinsettia  acrylic stamp  with leaves. The one used was from Inspired by Stamping stamp company and  it has a good thick acrylic material (checked already and easy to mold without getting the whole stamp purple).
Then grab your beloved  ETI Easy Mold Silicone putty and make your mold.
I didn't have a photo of this step, but you can see the finished mold in the next step.

And those are the  dry molds filled with Easy Cast Resin over the red and green glitter layer.
First add the glitter inside the molds and then fill with a layer of mixed by the manufacturer's instructions  ETI  Easy Cast resin.

Make your Holidays tag and add the casted Poinsettia and leaves over it as shown.
Let it dry for at least 24 hours.
Now make your tag and add your casted unique embellishment over it.

And here is another project made with the same  mold, but with air dry white clay painted with acrylic paints over the dry shape.

Keep your molds as you can make more and more Christmas embellishments  with those gorgeous molds and ETI products.

Organise your jewelry in your own creative way

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new altered /home deco blog post.
This time I decided to make something really pretty, but useful. Let's think about the very first second after you are back home. First you  put your handbag on the table. Check it- you sure do it. Then you begin to undress yourself from all your jewelry and you do it even before you change to slippers/flip- flops/whatever.
In the meantime you don't even remember where your fancy necklace, rings, watch or earrings are. Maybe on the half way to the bedroom. Maybe in between your bedroom and the bathroom. Maybe...
So to make my jewelry mess organised I made this lovely, fancy and even a bit of Modern Vintage style wooden tray organiser and I even made a small tutorial to show you how you can make it in almost no time (unless 24 hours of waiting for the ETI  resin finish to be dry counts).
So here we go!
1. Paint the white wooden tray with teal/jade paint. This Tattered Angels DIY has a perfect coverage and you don't need any primer. This is just one single coat of the paint over the tray here.

 2. Cut some vintage looking cardstock pieces  to fit into all 4 spots inside the tray. As I decided not to add more colors, but neutrals only, I picked Canvas Corps Paris line cardstock and just used one with ivory and one with black backgrounds.
Glue the cut out cardstock pieces inside the tray.

3. The next step is resin coverage of the  entire tray inside. I decided not to use paper sealer and maybe it was a mistake as my cardstock colors were slightly changed  under resin coverage. But I still like the final result. If you really want your cardstock to stay in the very same shade- use resin sealer over the paper before you add liquid resin over it.
So this was the stage that I don't take any photos of as I wanted to cover the bottom with a thin layer of resin, to add all golden trinkets and to cover them with the thick resin layer. The working time of resin is not too long and as I need to take the whole construction out to the balcony for good lighting, I decided that it's not really necessary to show you how to fill the tray with a thin resin layer.
I used 50 ml  from each bottle of EasyCast Clear Casting Epoxy and mixed them together in the big mixing glass according to manufacturer's instructions.  Then I added a very thin layer of mixed epoxy to each compartment and moved the whole tray to sides to get the equal coverage inside the compartments.
I used a heat gun to diminish the small bubbles and waited about 5-7 minutes as I wanted to add all trinkets over the first layer and it had to be a bit harder. A mix of golden buttons and trinkets was added- not so randomly- into each section and then I covered them with the rest of my mixed Clear Casting Epoxy. And just otn say: you don't need to use any sealer over  metal pieces while working with ETI resins!

You can see the resin coverage from this particular photo angle. I also added 2 small bottles in one compartment on the top (you will see why later). I didn't need any glue, but just inserted them into  resin  layer.

After 24 hours of waiting time  this is my finished organiser and I am very glad with the result.

And now that's how it looks " in action"!

You also understand now why I added those two bottles: they are used to hang the earrings inside.
And by the way: each single piece of jewelry here is my own hand craft work!

I enter this to Faber Castell DMC alter something challenge
