Winter clay banner

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new tutorial.
This time I decided to make a banner made with clay only (all, but ribbons) and I made a full step by step tutorial for this Winter project made with Art Anthology  paints and stencils  and Makin's Clay®.

This a banner we are going to create: three flags made of Makin's  Black Clay® with intermediate layer made with light blue clay (mixed) and then embellishments that were made with Makin's Clay® push mold and  slightly painted with shiny paint.

And now to some close ups of the finished project:

You can see the full step by step tutorial HERE:

Final Makin's clay inspiration

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome  to my very last Makin's Clay® inspirational post.
After two full years on Makin's Clay® team it's just time to move to another adventures and I just made one final altered totally clay project to show you the wonders of delicious Makin's Clay® products.
It's not a real tutorial, but just a kind of " how to make this project" photo steps.
Step 1:
So  as the first step I made those two Makin's Clay® hearts using Die Versions XL Heart die, thin rolled white Makin's Clay® and as you can see the die cutting was just partial.
When working with a very thin and intricate dies, even the thin rolled dry clay can't be full cut. But those partly cut hearts  look fantastic after all and they are the base of this art piece.

2. Use different molds  to  cast all shapes using Makin's Clay® White and Natural clay. Let all shapes dry.

3. Use Pentart Acrylic paints (some are metallic) to paint all dry clay shapes. Don't try to paint them perfectly.
Just add some color over the shapes and let them dry.

4. Arrange the shapes over the  clay hearts and make the collage of vintage shapes, fairies and butterflies. Arrange the whole collaged piece over the frame.

Product list:

Makin's Clay Bottle of Hope

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Makin's Clay® January post.
This month we were challenged to make Bottles of Hope.
Let's say that this is my very first time to make such a small project and I never ever covered any bottle of this size with clay.
So I am totally not sure about the result, but you learn while you try. So I promise to be better with my next Bottle of Hope.
Here is my tutorial for this project :
1. Roll the blue Makin's Clay® to the size that will cover your small bottle using Makin's Clay® Roller tool from the tool set.

2. Use texture sheet to make the texture over your rolled blue clay.
I used Makin's Clay® Weave sheet from SET C.

3. Cover the small glass bottle with your textured clay and roll over the Makin's Clay® mat.
This is the second when you lost most of your texture! But as I said we learn from our mistakes.

4. Use Makin's Clay® small circle cutter from Circles cutters set and make the bottom circle to cover the bottle.

5. Use Easy Mold Silicone Putty and metal wings from your stash to make your own mold for the future use with Makin's Clay®.
Work according to manufacturer's instructions that are in the putty box.

6. Cover the bottle to the edge with blue clay and make the top with the original cork inside the white Makin's Clay® piece.

7. Cast the wings with White Makin's Clay® in your self made mold.
Cast the small owl in another mold (Plaid).
Cast the bow with Makin's Clay® bow push mold.
Cast the top piece with another Plaid mold (will be seen later).
Paint the dry shapes with acrylic paints(I used DecoArt Media Line).

This is the top piece over the bottle.

And the bottle with a cork and the closure.

I hope that you liked my small tutorial and will do some Bottles of Hope for anyone  who needs a bit of hope.
But don't we all need some?

Fairy door

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new altere project post.
This time I made a totally different project: altered Fairy door  chipboard set from Tando Creative.
I used chipboards and Art Anthology products only with the small add- on of Makin's Clay molded fairies added to the finished project.
As always I made a small tutorial for you. I even made my own paint tool from the old (or new) tooth brush.
Each chipboard piece was painted in the different way to get a different effect. There are stone effect, wood effect, painted  leaves and a mushroom, " metal" hinges and pastel fairies. And each effect was made just with Art Anthology paints and sprays.
It was so much fun to make this project and to see the final result! The only problem was the long waiting time as those Art Anthology dimensional paints are slow drying and the layers were thick.

You can see the full tutorial HERE:
Check out How to Make a Chipboard Fairy Door by Art Anthology on Snapguide.
And there is also a full supply list in this tutorial .
Art Anthology blog post is HERE  - you are most welcome to visit the blog for more painting inspiration too.

Makin's Clay Jewelry set tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends !
Irit  is here today and I will show you how to make a fancy jewelry set using Dragon Egg Pinterest tutorial inspiration.
This is my own version of this technique. The original tutorial show the work with foil over the polymer clay. I don't have any foil or even scalloped polymer clay knife. So I worked with metal leaves and scalloped cutter, but the result is very similar, also not in colors.
So here is my final project: a necklace, pair of earrings and a key chain/bag chain all together:

And now here is my tutorial for you:

1. Roll half package of Black Makin's air dry polymer clay over Makin's Clay® mat using Makin's
Clay ® rolling tool from the set.

2. Add a thin layer of enamel  powder adhesive over the rolled clay sheet.
You sure can use any other adhesive that  keeps metal leaves over the surface; I used whatever I had and it worked just perfect.
Add a random layer of silver leaves over  adhesive and let it dry.

3. Add another layer of enamel adhesive and fill with a mix of copper, red gold and gold leaves as shown.
Let the adhesive dry, but don't wait till the clay is dry.

4.Use scallop cutter or scalloped clay knife if you own it and make a few scalloped strips from the metal covered clay piece.

5.Roll another half of Black Makin's Clay® and use Makin's Clay® Oval and Round cutters to make all pieces shown that will make all three jewelry projects.

6. Cover the oval pieces with the any glossy glue and add all scalloped pieces from both sides of the ovals.
Use the cutter again to cut the extra pieces of the scallops.

7.Cut the circles from the foiled sheet with Round Makin's Clay® cutters and cover the black clay circles from both sides.

8.Make holes in the beads and trinkets and let it dry overnight.

9. Arrange the necklace using the largest oval piece, larger circles and smaller round beads.

Make the earrings with smaller ovals and small circles as shown.

10.Now arrange the key chain with the last two beads.

And here is a full project:

Chrismas cards inspiration with BoBunny

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Papercrafting inspirational post.
Irit is here today and I am going to share with you a couple of Winter cards.
I was asked to make a layout or a couple of cards with Pentart Magnetic paint and it was a bit tricky.
Making out of the page project with magnetic paint is a piece of cake. You can do boards, clip boards, party projects or even canvases with magnetic paint and to add trinkets or  photos over it. But making cards or layouts with this kind of medium was a true brain storming.
And after this so called " brainstorming" I decided to make a couple of cards and to add clay hand made embellishments that can be used as magnets after nobody remember the card they got.
So here are my cards and yes, the left one is totally huge one!
I used the most adorable Winter Wishes collection and made those Winter cards with hand cut chipboard frame that was totally covered with Pentart Magnetic paint.

This is the large card  in it's glory!
I added stickers, die cuts and one single  layered chipboard piece and hand made the poinsettia flowers with leaves using white air dry  polymer clay and push molds.
After the clay was dry I painted the dry piece with BoBunny Paerlescent paints in Tutu and Silver and it was like a magic! The colors are delicate, but still bright and the magnet piece is truly adorable.
So here it is over the magnetic paint and then, after the Holidays are over, the recipient can use the magnet as is, on the fridge.

And here is the second, quite smaller card, but made in the same style and with another self made clay magnet that was painted  with the same BoBunny paints.
An yes- the magnetic paint actually keeps the magnet on it's place (you sure need to add a piece of magnet on the back as it's not a magic, just pure physics).

I really hope that you got some Winter inspiration from my fancy cards and thanks for visiting our blog!
