Our Trip to St. Louis!

Jason and I flew out to St. Louis last week to see his parents and to see the sites! I know there are a ton of pictures here, but we packed a lot in while we were out visiting. We had a ton of fun, though, and here are some of our highlights. (I tried putting them in order, but it didn't work for some reason ... sorry if it's a little confusing.)
At the St. Louis Zoo - you can see some penguins in the background, they were pretty cute.
Waiting for the firework show at the arch. We got some perfect seats and when the fireworks went off they blew up right in the center of the arch, right over the Mississippi. It was so picturesque!:) (Have no idea how to spell that)
Happy Birthday, America! Once again, the fireworks show was amazing, especially the Grand Finale. One thing that really surprised us was how good Mckenna was! She hasn't really liked loud noises lately so I thought she was going to spaz out, but when they went off her eyes got really big and she sat there just mesmerized by them. I tried to get a picture but it didn't turn out. It was so funny, though.
Saturday we went to Six Flags! We went on some pretty crazy roller coasters and of course saw Scooby Doo.
Our trip home - a little tired??
One of our favorite things we did while out there was go to the St. Louis Cardinals game. Bob got us some pretty sweet tickets through his work and we sat on the fourth row, right by the Mets dugout (that's who they played). Here's a shot of one of their players, no zoom or anything on the camera. That's how close we were!
All in our Cardinals colors
On the morning of the 4th we went and did a 3 mile fun run with Bob and Jill's ward. It was really fun, but exercising for the first time in over a year, I didn't do the greatest. I stopped at 2 miles and was pretty sore the next day. Wow, isn't that pathetic!
Our little firecracker!
While Jason and Bob went golfing, Jill and I took Mckenna to their local Butterfly House. It was actually really cool, and had all different kinds of butterflies in there that flew all around you.

The famous St. Louis Arch
Mckenna's first plane ride - judging by the picture it doesn't look like she did the greatest but once she fed she slept the whole way there.
Waiting in line to go to the top of the arch!
Inside the tram that takes you to the top.
Okay, one more thing I didn't mention about the game, which was actually the best part of all is that we got an all you can eat gourmet buffet right before the game! THEN once it started we got another menu with ballgame foods on it and we could order whatever we wanted. There were about 20 items on the menu and I think between the four of us we tried everything at least once. We were in heaven - or at least I was. :)
So that was our trip. We crammed a lot into 3 full days but it was really nice to get away and to see Bob and Jill again!

In the Life of Kerri

Of course, she was on a lot of drugs. She was so funny and said some pretty crazy things - this picture says it all.
Good old Kerri, even after breaking her ankle one of her first concerns was how she was going to look on the plane the next day. We washed her hair in our kitchen sink and she laid out her outfit with matching jewelry - needless to say she looked very cute.

Okay, so we were talking and really there could be a whole series done on Kerri's adventures. This particular one was a little more unfortunate, though, and I hope Kerri doesn't mind me posting this, but she was such a good sport about everything and as always, had a positive attitude, although her first worry was how she was going to fit her foot into her cowboy boots for the concert. :)

In case you havn't heard, my little sister Kerri came down from Montana to visit a few friends. While she was down here she went to Seven Peaks with a group and while there, went down one of the steeper slides that has a trough of water at the bottom where you are supposed to slow down and get out. For some reason there wasn't enough water and instead of slowing down she actually sped up and hit the end of the trough at full speed. To make a long story short, she ended up breaking her ankle in two places and just had surgery yesterday where she had 9 screws placed in her ankle. Not a pretty sight. She called from the emergency room where I met her and then she crashed at our place for the rest of the day until she flew out the next morning to go back home. She was pretty bummed because it had ruined the rest of her plans that she had for the rest of the week, not to mention the activities she had planned for her last summer at home. Although this wasn't a very fun thing to have happen, she handled it all really well and we are so glad she is okay.
