4th of July Weekend

We had a wonderful 4th in Montana! We went up to Flathead Lake and spent the night, which I hadn’t done since before we were married, and then came home and enjoyed more festivities in Missoula. It was a perfect summer weekend with lots of fun memories.

We stopped at Joe’s Smoke Ring and loaded up on fireworks before we headed up to Flathead. Mckenna was so excited with her backpack full of fireworks. It was pretty funny to see her carrying it around. DSC_0191

Oh how I love the sunsets at the lake. I don’t think there is anything more beautiful than a sunset on Flathead Lake.

We all had a late night. I came out from getting Madison down and I found these two asleep on the deck.

The lake was great – we had a barbecue that day and did some boating, Jason was the only one that was brave enough to get in the 58 degree water, and then went home and went to a party at Christopher and Natalie’s house. We got Dairy Queen in Ronan, and once again, had a perfect summer day.

The morning of the 4th we got ready and went to the Stake’s pancake breakfast at Fort Missoula.

We went into the old school house where they had free books they were giving away and Mckenna plopped right down and started reading to herself.

After the breakfast we came home and did slip n’ sliding on Grandpa’s hill, which then turned into a waterfight. The kids had a blast. The kids painted 4th of July rocks afterwards while we were getting ready for the barbecue.

We had a delicious meal and then sat out on the lawn and watched the fireworks. It was a perfect view and an even better day.
