We've sure been busy . . .

When I took Griffin to his latest "well baby checkup" the Dr. asked me what my secret was to having healthy kids since he never sees us. After much thought I decided the reason my kids are never sick is because I have no life. We spend much of our time at home and we like it that way. Here's what we have been up to in the last few weeks . . .

We've been practicing our modeling skills (this kid is so his dad it's not even funny).
We've gotten cuter and older.

"We" painted most of our upstairs a very pleasant muddy brown color. We love it.

Benson was very helpful with the painting, he provided the entertainment.

We've made countless batches of cookie dough, we never get that many cookies baked. :)
No one makes cookies like Benson.
We've eaten meals with no pants on (bad mental picture, Benson is the only one who eats that way).

I've had a baby.
Griffin has mastered the "what do you want mom?" face.

Ok, so I didn't really have a baby. Our good friends Marcus and Sarah did. This is Baby Mason who was born on Griffin's birthday. He's so sweet.

I've thrown a baby shower for my friend Crystal. Is it just me or is everyone pregnant?
The food was "chips and dip." I love to decorate with newborn diapers because they are so dang cute.
Here's a picture of my front door. I loved having the sonogram pictures to decorate with. I felt like I was throwing a party for that sweet little girl inside Crystal's tummy.
We've gone camping.

Ok, you caught me again. But Keith is now the Scoutmaster for the 12-14 year olds at church. Benson loved the tent, he talks about it constantly.

We've colored and colored and colored.

And . . . even done a little of this. Kids are disgusting.
Also, Griffin has managed to walk away with my wedding ring and I have no idea where it is. Didn't I just post that my kids like to hide things from me? Ahhh, such is life I guess. We can't wait for more sunny days so we can have some outdoor fun.

Lost

So I am doing a pictureless post. I actually have about a million pictures to share that represent our life happenings over the past few weeks, but I can't find my camera and Keith took his. How do you lose a camera? I am constantly amazed at the items I lose and find.

My mother used to always say, "I am such a loser." She wasn't referring to a social problem, but to the fact that she was constantly losing things. I have decided that this "loser" problem must be an actual genetic mutation and has nothing to do with me being unorganized (haha, that's a joke). Seriously, where do things go?

I often think of Toy Story and all the toys having a mind and body of their own. Can they really walk off and go somewhere else? Maybe the real problem is that I have two clever and tricky boys who can walk off and take things somewhere else. Oh well, there are worse things in life than feeling like you have lost your mind . . . I think.

I actually had to write about the cute things those cute little boys who hide my stuff have been doing lately. Griffin Bishop is changing from a baby to a toddler before our eyes. It is both devastating and amazing. He has decided that he can now say yes and no to his mom. He doesn't actually say "yes" or no, but it is a simple head shake accompanied by a cute "uh" for yes and a very unpleasant grunt for no. At meals if he has something he doesn't want he throws it across the room, or spits it out if offered another more desirable item. At first it was so cute. It is no longer cute. It is sick, gross, "iscusting" (as Benson would say).

The other night Griffin decided he wanted me to rock him to sleep (I have literally done this less than ten times since he was born, well maybe a few more than that). As I held him he laid very still (very unusual for Mr. Wiggles). After a few Broadway tunes, I went to lay his sleepy big boy body down and noticed my shirt was wet. There was a wet spot on my shirt the size of a tennis ball . . . from drool. I was soaked. It's a good thing I love that kid.

Benson is just as fun as ever. Seriously, not a better kid on the planet. He is starting to talk with real words, not just "tickatickaticka juice." Now he says, "I wanna juice peas ah mama." That translates to, "I want juice please mom." We took the kids to the Draper Temple Open House (which was awesome) a few weeks ago. They had you park at the church and then a bus chartered you to the temple. Benson has not stopped talking about the temple and bus. He also sings all the time. His new song is "whoa whoa whoa your butt, denty down the steam, merry, merry, merry, merry, wife is but a dweam." So cute. So cute. We are constantly amazed by him. He is an angel.

It's Friday the 13th. Keith and I were married on Friday the 13th (of August), so I always love it when the 13th falls on a Friday (Griffin was born on the 13th too). We even had a Friday the 13th last month. Keith and I celebrated our semi-anniversary of four and a half years in February on an actual Friday the 13th (well, i celebrated, Keith just looked at me weird and was grateful he didn't have to get me a gift). Stay tuned for a post filled with pictures soon.
