Good bye May, Hello Summer!

I get to kick off Summer by attending and running Girls Camp this week. Luckily my prayers were answered and I am not dreading it as I was several months ago. I am actually excited! All I can say is, modern miracles happen . . . I am not a camper. Oh yeah, and remember how I am almost five months pregnant? Awesome. Today was supposed to be a busy day with last minute packing and prep, but instead I spent the morning doing this . . .

Not in my wedding attire, but I have a very sick little baby who needs his mom. What a blessing it has been to lay in bed with my sweet little Griffey as he pukes in a bowl and I finish reading the Book of Mormon. Only about 50 pages to go (I set a goal to finish it before camp) and I got some great reading in this morning as I snuggled my little one. God does answer prayers after all.

Now, pray I survive the week with these crazy girls . . .

School's out!

I took a very big step as a mother these last few months and allowed Benson to participate in a preschool with some of his neighborhood friends. Those of you who know me well, know that I have dreaded my kids leaving me and going to school since before they were born. Seriously, ask me about it and I will start crying. It is really quite ridiculous. If I could be a kangaroo and carry my children in a pouch on me for their whole lives, I think I would.

But alas, my children are growing and I guess education is important . . . so off to school Benson went. Today was our last day and we all went to the Zoo to celebrate! What a great way to end the year. I sure love the ladies and kids that were involved and will miss seeing them all the time.

Here's a cute picture of some of the kids on the train at Hogle Zoo. The train was a big hit, especially for these sweet boys.
I am the world's worst photographer and find it funny when people photograph animals at the zoo, but I am a pregnant lady and this is a baby. Baby Elephant Suri. The highlight of the day was watching mommy elephant do her peeps and poops in front of a large audience. I think she went potty for a good five minutes . . . call me immature, but I found it very entertaining.
The Carousel. Benson loved it, Griffin wasn't so sure. I found it to be a very blissful mommy moment to stand by my sweet boys and watch their faces as their elephant and jaguar lifted them up and down.

My bald children watching Mom Elephant take care of her business.
The crew of monkeys watching the monkeys. What a great bunch of kiddos.

Kelly "Firkins" Stubbs, and her sweet kids Connor and Rachel. I have known Kelly almost my entire life and her parents still live next door to mine. Our parents have been best friends for over 20 years, and believe it or not, Kelly lives about five minutes from me. What a treat to have our kiddos be friends and schoolmates.

The best part of Benson going to school, was every day he would ask if Griffin could come with him. And upon returning home, he would always hug and kiss his brother and tell him how much he missed him. I am pretty excited about everyone being home for our summer break, if only Keith could take the summer off.

May Days

I have a minute which is rare these days, so I decided to write down what has been going on around here before I forget. Especially because Pregnant Lisa has taken over and she seems to be pretty forgetful these days. And also because I have been feeling so blessed lately that I could burst. If I could freeze time, I would . . . although not this exact moment because I don't particularly love it when my kids use my legs as a car ramp.

I am pretty sure all I have done in the past few weeks is get bigger and work on Girls Camp (which is in just over two weeks) and enjoy the horrible rainy spring weather we have been having. Seriously, I need sunshine. I am sooooooooo ready for Summer.

So, here is what we have been up to . . .

We celebrated mother's day. I am not the biggest fan of this day. Mostly because I use it as an excuse to be lazy and have to spend the next day cleaning up. Although, I do love being a mother, I may love having a mother even more. I guess I need to spend mother's day with the mothers in my life in the future. (PS, these awesome cranes have been like this for a few weeks. Keith took a picture and made a poster for the guy who did it).
I celebrated Mother's day by eating, my new favorite hobby. The boys and I made brownies. I think Griffin really enjoyed himself.

The boys love to go golfing. It is all Benson wants to do. Keith is a good sport and takes them almost every time he goes. Benson is actually a pretty decent golfer.

The boys got summer haircuts, in hopes that summer would soon arrive.

Isn't little boy underwear the cutest? I seriously think it is the most adorable thing. :)

I even let Dad shave Griff's head. I was pretty sad because I love his hair, but believe it or not, he is still a very cute little boy.

I threw a giant Carnival Fundraiser for Girls Camp. This is Benson doing the Cake Walk. We raised eight dollars over our goal. I am so glad that Heavenly Father answers prayers. It was a pretty fun night and I am really glad it is over.

Keith decided to run a 5K today, just for kicks and giggles. Does he run? Um, no. Benson was pretty disappointed he didn't get to race and cross the finish line. Luckily, Dad let him wear his racing number.

My prince charming, coming close to the end.

His time was 24:24. I thought that was quite impressive. Who is this guy? He is Superman. Do you think he has the power to make Summer come?

No posts in April?!

Can you believe I didn't post once in April? I can hardly believe it. Honestly, I have been soooooo busy. Busy sleeping . . . . . . . . . . . and growing stuff.

That's right folks. Here comes Baby #3, due November 13. We are so excited! I wish I had documented my past pregnancies, but sadly I did not. That would probably stop me from saying things like, "I don't remember this." For example, I don't remember being so exhausted. I swear to you I have been asleep for the past month, but finally have energy again! I am pretty excited about having a new baby and also excited to document my pregnancy via the blog. This is my first blog pregnancy, hehe.
And of course the question, do you want a girl? The truth is, I love having boys. But, my favorite color is PINK . . . so, I don't think I would complain if I get to put ribbons and bows on this next one. However, Benson wants a baby brother and he wants to name it "Sister." He also asks if the baby would like to come with us places and if it is happy and what clothes it is wearing. We all went and got to hear the little nugget's heartbeat last week, Benson was pretty worried that the baby was sick because we were going to the doctor. He was glad to hear that the baby was doing good. Griffin prays for the the baby every night, you should hear him say the word "baby", it is the cutest thing ever. Currently, he likes to kick my belly and climb on it. It's pretty hard to avoid, I swear I am huge.
And of course, Keith may be the most excited. He likes me "fat." He loves to take me out to buy treats and whatever my little pregnant belly desires (which unfortunately, is a lot).
And I actually rather like being pregnant. I never get that sick, I get to eat whatever I want (and believe me I do) and I get new clothes. Sure the shirts look more like tablecloths and the pants have elastic on them, but I love it. At least I do right now. I am sure I will be singing a different tune in a few months. Now, I will do my best to actually write about our life this month. Wish me luck!
