ARTEMIS leaving Lisbon 2009-1028

P&O cruise ship ARTEMIS ex-ROYAL PRINCESS of 1984 leaving Alcântara Dock in Lisbon on 28 October 2009. She was in the news recently following the announcement of her sale to undisclosed interests associated with the German operator Phoenix Reisen with delivery set for April 2011. Na imagem pode ver-se uma das gruas da APL ainda existentes em Alcântara, que apresenta um ar degradado por falta de manutenção e pintura. É uma pena que em todo o porto de Lisboa não haja uma única grua preservada a fazer lembrar épocas recentes em que a movimentação de bagagens e mercadorias se fazia com recurso a esses aparelhos tradicionais em vias de desaparecimento.

Largada do Piloto

Agora que os dias são mais curtos os paquetes deixam o rio ao anoitecer, desaparecendo na bruma avermelhada do entardecer. Em frente ao Bom Sucesso, uma paragem para desembarque do Piloto, e depois é retomar o andamento, ganhar velocidade e fazerem-se à Barra e ao Mar Oceano.

ARTEMIS in Lisbon 2007-09-26

One of the 10 ARTEMIS included in the registers, this fine ship is the cruise liner built in 1984 for Princess Cruises as ROYAL PRINCESS and now sailing under the P&O houseflag and livery. She visited Lisbon on 26 September on what was a Carnival day for our port, as all four large cruise ships belonged to the Carnival Group, and also a P&O - Princess day with three P&O or Princess ships: the ARTEMIS, the OCEANA and the SEA PRINCESS.
