GRAND VICTORIA ex-RENAISSANCE in Lisbon

The veteran cruise ship GRAND VICTORIA, owned by Elysian Cruises and first introduced in 1966 by Paquet Cruises of France as their sleek RENAISSANCE, visited Lisbon for the second time under her current name. 
One of the survivors of the once large fleet of Greek cruise operators Epirotiki Lines and Royal Olympic (she belonged to Epirotiki and ROC between 1977 and 2005, with a period of three years cruising in Indonesia as the AWANI DREAM), the GRAND VICTORIA still looks very atractive and elegant...

GRAND VICTORIA em Lisboa
Construído em França em 1966 para o Grupo Paquet chamou-se inicialmente RENAISSANCE até ser vendido em 1977 à companhia grega Epirotiki, passando a ser o WORLD RENAISSANCE ( de 1977 a 1984 navegou ao serviço das companhias Costa e Cornow Shipping). De 1995 a 1998 fez cruzeiros na Indonésia como AWANI DREAM, após o que voltou à frota da Epirotiki e ao nome WORLD RENAISSANCE, sendo um dos navios que integraram a nova empresa grega Royal Olympic Cruises, resultante da fusão da Epirotiki com a Sun Line. A falência da ROC em 2004 não ditou o fim do ex-RENAISSANCE, que continua a navegar apesar dos seus 40 anos. Curiosamente em termos de perfil foi pouco alterado com os anos, mantendo um aspecto de iate de cruzeiros que o tornou famoso em França nos anos sessenta e setenta.
