The End of Minifigures Online

This is a small build I made when Minifigures Online was still in closed Beta, and I got the joy of already playing it.

Over the roughly two years it ran it has seen some changes, last week, on the 30th of September, it closed down as this little free game came to an end.
I actually enjoyed the game personally, and back then made this build in "honor" of the three characters I preferred to play with, each with it`s representative "class colour" and small setting.  Being a more historical / fantasy based builder, I as such chose those three as being most representative for my intrests when i started playing.

It was a fun little game, and the storyline was enjoyable, but it just couldn`t stand up to the big MMO's in the end.

But in the end, I managed to complete about 70 - 75 % of all obtainable achievements in the game, even though it was repetitive after a while (finish instance x or y with that figure, get that far in the portal with that other figure)...

Minifigures Online series 14

The new Halloween themed Series 14 has arrived in Minifigures Online!!!

And it is with a nice twist, the Monster Trials.

This is a short version of the Lost Creations versions, in that you only need to defeat 2 levels and the boss in order to get two random pieces of Series 14 figures.

To access this, you need to find `Golden Tickets`, each one granting a single run.

Of course, this also means a LOT of new achievements have arrived, for a full series, so my percentage drops as we grind further through the game and try to gain more of them done.  I just hope my local toy store comes through and has managed to score me a box, hopefully more news this week!

Changes to Minifigures Online

It`s about a month now since the Lego MMO game changed from a free to play to a buy to play gamemodel as the `beta` was ended and changed to official release.

This brought along a lot of changes in the weeks it was down during june, and though I haven`t been playing exactly as much as I`d liked to have (yeah yeah, silly Facebook game based on the Pawn Stars show from History channel is currently occupying my zombie hours), there are some nice changes.

First of all, the biggest change is perhaps that the `bricks` system is gone and not replaced by something else.

But bar that, the achievements remained the same, even though a lot of new minifigures from older series have been implemented, which can drop if you complete The Lost Creations, something I really should start throwing myself into.  Apparently, even after level 35 it is said Mr Gold parts can drop.

The other changes are mostly of a graphic nature.  The maps and mini maps have received an overhaul, and some small changes have been done to the levels and storylines.

A great new feature now though is that the game comes with voice-overs and small cutscene animations.

It doesn`t give a big benefit anymore if you`re a subscriber, and all those that where have automatically received the game without needing to purchase it, but the second bonus chest is gone now.  Instead, every level and minidungeon now have the newer series (like 13) included in the possible parts for a figure that drops.

This also means that the exchange 3 parts for a random one has been eliminated, and changed by a system where you get 250 stars for every 3 parts you turn in now, handy as all the max level skills for the figures are opened now as well to max them out further.

All in all, the game now looks a little bit `slicker` without having changed a big deal.

Now if I can just get myself some free time again and chuck down some more achievements and complete some of the few figures I still need...

Minifigures Online is back

The two week downtime for the overhaul of the CMF game Minifigures Online has passed, and the renewed servers and game are back open.

And quite a lot of changes have occured in the interface and the likes.  And the very first you`ll see is that you can now have mutliple character slots...

Changed from a Free to play with microtransactions, it went to a buy to play model and gone are the diamonds (the currency for the transactions).  Existing accounts had them all reimbursed in stars (the skill points).  Together with the fact skills now `open` on a certain level instead of buying first that level for a figure, meant I had over half a million stars at once, and I managed to put all my 75 figures (my free monthly bag gave me one I didn`t have yet, the Galaxy trooper) on Legendary in one go.

Another change is a new tab at the top of the interface, Assembly`.  Here, you get a list of the figures you DON`T have yet, and how many of the needed parts for each.  Gone are the days you could change 3 for 1 random piece in the hopes collecting a figure, now all the pieces you have from completed figures go in the `Spares Box` and these can be exchanged for 250 stars per 3 pieces.

The game now has voices included, and there should be cinematics and changed and overhauled levels and dungeons, but that is something I`ll be exploring the coming weeks.  What I can say is that the new map style is far more arty then before.

Achievements have remained and for now, no new ones have been added, so on that field, there isn`t much to report.

But the last skill HAS been opened now on every character, so they can be upgraded to their maximum 8th skill set.

It`s basically a new game as such, so I`ll be hopping around in it soonish, first I have to do some more switches and changes in upgrades and skill lists ;-)

MiniFigures Online closed for makeover

The one MMORPG I have been playing (occasionally) in 2015 so far is closing for a while to get a total makeover.

The minifigure related codes are apparently going out, but there are some new changes on the way as well.

Most importantly, it seems to be changing from a Free to Play to a Buy to Play.

Diamonds are going out and you will get them refunded in stars, no idea how this will effect the acquisition of figures by buying polybags for diamonds.

Cinematics, storyline overhauls and voice overs are going to be included.  So I`ll have a whole new, fresh game to explore when it comes back end of June.

And I have no idea what it will be doing for the achievements, so it`s all going to be a brand new exploration for me as well...

The Plan episode 51

Well, this week it is going to be a post of many new brave minifigures that have joined my cause in trying to get to the 100% completion ratio of Minifigures Online.

Like I said last week, I would be sorting out all those flyers I still have lying around from all sorts of series 12 and a few series 13 figures, and enter them into the game, resulting in 6 more unique codes and figures to start scoring points with :-)

Form Series 12, three more joined the ranks, and as such that also meant the full series now has been collected, as Lifeguard, Prospector and Swashbuckler line up.

While from Series 13 the Alien Trooper, Paleontologist and Disco Diva make sure I can keep hunting for more and more parts in the hope of finally having those Gingerbread Man legs drop...

But on the other side, I also did score a hefty amount of achievement points, as no less then 6 figures reached their legendary status.

This happened when 5 of them unlocked their 7th skill set: Holiday Elf, Island Warrior, Lady Robot, Motorcycle Mechanic and Roman Commander each obtained their at least final 3900 stars to open these.

While grinding those, Mermaid also got to the status by smashing at least 5000 objects...

So in has been an active, good week for the score table, making me near the 54% mark.  Next week, being Valentine and such, I will not be upping an episode as I have still a lot to do, but when The Plan returns in two weeks I hope to be up and about at the 60% completion rate, hopefully obtained by getting the new additions to the first 10 completed achievements each and the odd legendary status left or right.

See you then!

The Plan episode 50

Perhaps the headliner this week is that I grabbed some s13 bags, and had a few characters to add to my collection as such: The Evil Wizard, Classic King and Goblin are now part of my collection.

Now, all in all, it was another calm week in playtime, meaning I didn`t get that much to Legendary status at all.

In fact, the only minifigure that has achieved this status for now is the Constable.  Yes, I know, a low ratio but a character is a character, and now I have 3 fresh ones to rake in some additional achievement points during the coming week.

My goal for the next days is another modest one, trying to get the `basic` achievements sorted with the newest additions, and HOPEFULLY that will also be enough to get one or two of the minifigures to their Legendary status, though that is something I can`t promise.

I`m namely trying to get at least all of Series 9 already to `pre Lost Creations achievements completion, before thundering in there again to get some more points on the list completed...

A hard and grinding job for sure, but I`m going to be completing my figures the coming week as well for series 12 as I`m going to sort through the loose flyers I have for them, so that should yield at least a lot of new characters for the coming weeks!

See you all then!

The Plan episode 49

It has been a calm week on the gaming front, as it has been everything but calm outside of it.

But never the less, I managed to break the 50% barrier at last in my epic quest to score all the available achievements points...

This was mainly done by being able to add my second figure so far of Series 13 as I used my diamonds in game to get some boosters.  I got the Snake Charmer...

... and grinded him to the Legendary status the same day, he is quite a fun character to play with his long range and AoE abilities.

Joining him on the Legendary status was the Fairytale Princess, another handy ability character.

But that was basically about it the past week, as once the weekend had gone by, I just haven`t gotten around to get any sessions in, let alone being able to dedicately grind in the hopes of getting the missing Gingerbread Man legs.

The coming week doesn`t look like it will be any calmer though, so I`ll be glad to settle on the modest goal of just getting another one or two figures to their green glow achievement.

Until next week!

The Plan episode 48

Another very productive week this time round in Minifigures Online, but unfortunatly it will also be the last one for now, unless my local toy store gives me a call this week to tell me Series 13 is in.

Because at the moment, I have reached legendary status on all the minifigures I could for now by just unlocking their seventh skill for 2500 starts each, all the others being far away from this and needing somewhere between 10.000 and 15.000 stars to reach this achievement.

But first things first, as through the use of a promotional code, I managed to get my hands on an additional minifigure, the Pirate Captain from Series 8.  A cool looking model, this does mean though he doesn`t have an achievements list (yet?) as (for now?) those start with the minifigs of series 9 upwards.

I did jump in the Lost Creations this week as well, but as long as I don`t get all the minifigs to their maximum, this is a very health potion draining experience at the moment.  Never the less, this has gotten the Fencer up to Legenday status as well.

So all this means I`m now just short of obtaining half of all the achievement points gainable, stranding this week at 49.90% of the total, and meaning I need to get about 2 or 3 achievements done to brake the mystical halfway barrier.

This is as such the goal to obtain for the coming week.  I`m going to try and grind or Lost Creation some more figures to their `green glow` status, in an effort to obtain the 50% barrier that way.  And oddly enough, that is going to be a long grind unless I finally get lucky and can get those blasted Legs parts for the Gingerbread Man, to get a boost in points and going onwards again.

Considering I`m currently running around with three builders (Mr Good and Evil, Chicken Suit Guy and the Plumber) to get them to the 1000 builds, but considering even the largest worlds only have about a dozen or so speedpads and waymarkers, I think I`m going to park near some build devices (there is a place in Mythological World where tthere are 4 builds close together) and grab a good book, reading and playing at the same time when I have an hour off or so to spend time.

Until next week!

The Plan episode 47

What a pity this week... Winter Pass, the seasonal event has ended, and that means no more extra stars after the update from past wednesday.

On the plus side, it does seem the daily freebie remains on the log in screen, so at least that counts for something hehe.

This week, I managed to get three minifigures raised at least to their Legend status and accompanying green glow, two by unlocking their 7th skill, one by defeating 10.000 opponents.  I still have a LOT of figures to go this way, but slow and steady we`re getting there, this weak aiming at getting at least two more to this status.

In the meantime, the counter of completed achievements stands at 48.90%, meaning I`d need to score about 660 points to get to the halfway mark, and considering the first rumours of series 14 are already popping up (apparently, a Halloween inspired Monster theme, that would be cool if it goes through), AND my Series 13 hasn`t shown up yet at my local toy store (so I guess I better give them a ring somewhere this week) meaning I`m currently not grinding them, I still have a lot to go...

Oh well, we`ll see how it runs, as slowly we build on to get the whole shabang sorted out ;-)

Until next week, in which we hope to have at least two more to their Legend status :-D
