No Game No Life 3 - Yuu Kamiya

An anime series I really loved, and which unfortunatly didn`t go past season 1 and a prequel movie, one needs to read the novels to know how the series progresses.

And that is just what I am doing, with volume 3 marking the "end" of how far the anime went.

One of the gamer siblings has vanished!

In the world of Disboard, everything is decided by games.  And after rising to reign as the monarchs of the remnants of Disboard's humans, gamer siblings Sora and Shiro have now wagered the fate of every human being alive on the outcome of a game against the Eastern Union!

But immediatly after making this wager, Sora disappears, leaving only a cryptic message behind. "  ", the legendary two-in-one gamer, has been torn assunder!  What is Sora thinking?  What will Shiro do?  What will become of humanity?  And what about the paradise of animal girls?

In the third volume of the bestselling alternate-world fantasy series, it's a risky showdown against the Werebeasts!

Another highly enjoyable read, this also marks a new beginning.  Because from now on, I will also be going into uncharted territory!

My Top 5 Fandoms: 5 - No Game, No Life

Hello everyone, and welcome to a small new series I`m going to be running on this blog, with a new episode coming every monday.

In this, I`ll be answering a question I often get asked: "what do you like?" from a geeky perspective.

So wether it is anime, television, books, movies, video games... I`ll be counting it down over a 5 instalment course, and perhaps it might even help my "not in-house" family members pick a fun christmas gift at the end of the year ;-)

The first instalment, and ranked 5th on my list, is a pretty recent anime franchise, one I discovered by watching the series and have been in love with ever since, namely No Game, No Life.

Based on a 10 volume novel series, this follows the adventures of the hikokomori siblings Shiro and Sora, whom are known in our world as the urban gaming myth "the Blank", putting high scores on every game they touch.  This is due to the fact they have been together so long, they fill out each other perfectly, and one day they are challenged by a so-called God to a game of chess.

They beat him, and are transported to the world of Disboard, where everything is decided by games, and Immanity (aka, humans) are the lowest ranking power, on the verge of being wiped out from existence.  So the siblings set to rebuilding them, and climb through the ranks to make Immanity the rulers of Disboard.

Now, unfortunatly the series anime was cancelled after 1 season, to the dismay of many even, as it was not only colourful, but through to the source material and damn fun.  This means you can "watch" the novels up to the first chapter of the third volume, where the series ended as such.  Apart from the Zero movie, where Shwie's fate left me crying...

A great, and still with a loyal following, anime series, and definitly worth checking out!  And to answer the question, do I have a tattoo of it yet?  The answer is no... not yet, but it WILL come once all the current projects are done.  And finally get those Blu-Ray boxes!!!!
