New York, London, Paris, Pripyat...

This has taken a bit of time to get to this stage.

A Debris of War ventilator is placed above the vehicle bay.

Debris of War sofa and a chair provide some comfortable seating for sentries, a crate is convenient as a table.

A Crooked Dice electrical cabinet and air-conditioner adorn the walls.
The walls and roof were sprayed with Plastikote Rust Effect paint. The interior was sprayed with TTCombat Skeleton Bone. The walls were sprayed with Army Painter Fur Brown. The roof was sprayed with Citadel Chaos Black.
Brick detailing was Vallejo Black Grey, Army Painter Fur Brown, Army Painter Chaotic Red, Army Painter Stone Golem and Army Painter Skeleton Bone from a wet palette.
The walls were drybrushed with Citadel Golfag Brown.

The Woman from the Organisation to Nurture and Consolidate Europe*

Besuited agent with a FN P90 PDW ready to protect the principle.

Female suited agent with the P90 arms from the Agents set.

* Apologies again to Charles Stross for borrowing his joke (it is better in French and in the novel Halting State).

Vague But Menacing Government Agency

Another figure from the Wargames Atlantic Agents set.

This is an out of the box figure, reloading his now empty automatic pistol.
Some minor filling is required to smooth in the arm joints.
I have placed the figure in the following two photographs on a second base as the Empress figure has an integral base.

Here you can see the pistol with its slide back, showing it is empty.

Wargames Atlantic: Survivors 2

Wargames Atlantic Civilians and Survivors: Women, the companion set to the Male set.

These can be assembled with or without weapons and are compatible with the female agents in the Agents set.

Wargames Atlantic Agents

The recently released Wargames Atlantic Agents set.

There are four identical sprues in the box.
Each sprue has three men in suits, one woman in a suit, one man in tactical gear and one woman in tactical gear. The female arms are clearly numbered.
There are no female arms with assault rifles, there are two MP5, one MP5K, one shotgun, one FN P90 and two pistols.

As I wanted some heavier firepower than the MP5, I used the assault rifle arms from the Wargames Atlantic female survivors set on the first figure.
Either those trousers are excessively starched of there is a mould line I need to remove.

Size comparison with Empress US figure (painted as a fictional Ayeland marine).
As a comparison, this is misleading. The Empress figure is standing upright and the agent is striding forward.

Wargames Atlantic: Survivors 1

The Wargames Atlantic Civilians and Survivors set 1 builds 24 male figures. There are sufficient parts for all of them to be running unarmed or armed with an assortment of weapons ranging from swords and bats (Cricket and Rounders) to assault rifles via pistols, revolvers and submachine guns.

There are four of the main sprues that build mainly unarmed or armed with bats or poles figures.

There are three of the weapon sprues.

Scarlett and Browne, a very British Post-Apocalypse

Jonathan Stroud (also the author of Lockwood and Co - made into a single season on Netflix) has just completed a British Post-Apocalypse trilogy.

After an undefined Great Cataclysm, Britain is divided into seven Kingdoms. Most of the people live in the highly regulated Surviving Towns, under the watchful eye of the Faith Houses who ensure orthodoxy, both behavoral and genetic.

The map of Britain is both familiar and different. Between the Surviving Towns are the wilds, infested with a whole range of nasty and deadly fauna, including The Tainted (think Rage Infected).

Scarlett McCain is a young robber, who specialises in robbing banks, and occasionally Faith Houses. She is deadly accurate with a revolver and has no hesitation in using it.

Her life changes after she finds a crashed bus with a single survivor, a teenaged boy.
The figure is from the Gunfighters II by Great Escape Games with a Stargrave head.

I still have to find a suitable figure for Albert Browne. I am hoping the Wargames Atlantic Male Survivors set will provide something suitable.

A Faith House Operative (book two).
The body is from the Great Escape Games' Dead Man's Hand Gunfighters set, the arms are from the Frostgrave Wizards set and the head is from the Stargrave Crew set.

The bowler hat seems to be the official headgear, occasionally colour coded for your convenience.

Two Town militia, in their official bowler hats and (when painted) tweed jackets.
More Dead Man's Hand Gunfighters.

Anvil Zone Mercenaries

Anvil Industries have recently released a Print on Demand range called Zone Mercenaries. with male and female figures.

They are equipped with reinforced armour, helmets and gas masks and AKM assault rifles.

The problem is, the weapons are rather large, partly due to the limits on the materials used for their normal resin ranges, but I suspect mainly to be in scale with their normal market of gamers who want something similar to but more interesting than 40K.

This is a bit of  problem as they do not look okay with my modern image type standard Empress figures' weapons.

However a plan emerged to use them as alternative figures for The Walking Dead: All Out War.

Size comparison between a female (left) and male (right) Zone Mercenary and TWD:AOW zombies.

Their weapons and equipment are a drop in replacement for The Commonwealth Trooper (you can probably build them using various existing equipment from the original range)
They are slightly shorter than the Commonwealth Trooper but look okay with the walkers and survivors.
To hide the height difference, I used Crooked Dice supplied slotted round bases and put a thin plastic card panel over the slot. It raises the head height slightly.

Commonwealth Trooper - The Walking Dead: All Out War

With Mantic Games renewing The  Walking Dead: All Out War, the first faction they released was The Commonwealth.

The figures are in multi-part resin.

This Commonwealth trooper comes in three parts: body, gun and supporting hand ahead of the magazine, and head.

There are two identical bodies in the set, but two different heads, one bare-headed, the other in a helmet.

There is another two troopers with a different body.

The figures are supplied with the new Mantic round base (with magnet insert space) but I have chosen a slotted base from Crooked Dice.
